Had both.... TA22 was my first rally car actually. met with a rather spectacular end. And yes, you can fit bigger things into the RA23... but you'll only need to utilise that extra room (its bugger all by the way) if you intend on shoehorning things like 1JZ's into it, which I doubt you will be. The 18-RG was a fantastic engine in its day... I can still hear the delightful syncopated scream of my old one at full noise.... 2.5" zorst and twin dellortos gave it such a wonderful induction note.... sounded like an old alfa romeo with bigger balls. Almost gave me wood every time I drove it... :y: Good luck finding a decent 18rg these days though... most have been flogged senseless and those that haven't are worth heaps. But, there's still quite a few decent TA22's around (better looking than the RA23 I reckon) and a 3tgte swap is pretty damn easy and will make for a very well balanced and quick car.

Quite fond of the odd exclamation mark or two aren't you!!! But on topic.... rolla looks cool... Personally I'd keep it all original on the outside, (whitewall tyres and all) and slip a nice 20 valve in it. Sleepers rule.

Aaah ok mine has a 3ac and was thinking of doing very similar things... ie: repowering the ninja tercel or transferring the entire driveline into one of these bloody ke70s I have sitting around.... although my initial measurements tell me there may be some clearance problems with the second option

Is it an AL25? A 4age will bolt up, but you may need to relocate some ancillaries as the transfer case gets in the way, AND the tercel driveline is weak as piss and will snap shit left right and centre if you try to overpower it.

I'm up here in the tropics so I runover all sorts of small furry endangered things with disturbing frequency... Took out a wallaby in the AE92 the other week... bandicoots are common... on the roads heading west into the rainforest, cassowaries are a very real threat, and you wouldn't wanna take out one of those big bastards in anything smaller than a kenworth... Fluffy little miserable excuse for a dog went straight through my grille, aircon consenser, radiator (I was hooting along at considerable speed) and then, as if destroying my front end wasn't enough, the filthy shit had the audacity to cook various bits of itself on the engine after being eviscerated by the fan. mmm..... the smell of cooking dog.... reminds me of thailand :ninja:
