  1. Send me the link man I may be able to help. Got a dude in tokyo....
  2. One of the mods will very shortly direct you to the FAQ... but until then... Ke70's are all the same bar interior spec, minor cosmetic update in 84 to slant front. Body style continues into AE71 with 4A engine (easier 4AGE conversion, Ke70s are slighty trickier, but not too much) 17's can fit, with spacers. All 114.3.... 15's with 0 offset are much more practical and imo more visually appealing though, and it won't tramline and jiggle all over the place like 17's will make it do. They're inherently squirmy in the rear end. AE86 suspension stuff bolts straight in... slight differences in steering components apparently (only going off what I know at this point, I've upraded my struts, brakes and lcas etc but haven't touched steering.) All 4k Brakes work fine.... once.... then overheat and never work the same again. :) Upgrades are easy. I'm doing the rotary convo in one of mine... soon....series 5 13bt.... relatively easy but obviously custom engine and gearbox mounts etc... RX7 gearbox may require slight massaging of the tunnel to fit but rx4 box fits fine apparently. The diff WILL explode on the first hard launch.
  3. I'd love to play with a 215 out of the 180 odd I have on this little list thingy here, only 12 are turbo 5sp awd You bloody kiwis have nicked all the good ones :D
  4. So they do.... I'm being told porky pies. Seem to be rarer than a tasmanian virgin though
  5. Hahahaha..... darwin is just like cairns.... Got rust? Get your angle grinder out and get creative :D
  6. well I've always found that keeping a contemporary style without subscribing to the current trends in fashion can be difficult... I mean walking into any "cool" clothes store and buying anything "off the rack" will make you look good, but so will everyone else who did the same thing. The trick, (I think) is to stick to clothes that fit well and are well made, and dress for comfort as your first priority. Staying with the classic "timeless" ensembles (can't go wrong with jeans and a t-shirt) will ensure you still look good, but not selling out and following the trends like everyone else. Oh... you mean wheels... nah got no idea. I like shiny ones. :D
  7. They sound like RA60/ST141 Corona or Tarago factory alloys... They'll look ok, if your idea of style is big hair and ripped denim, and you enjoy dressing up in red leather and wearing one white glove covered in rhinestones.... ie: 1985... There's better wheels around IMO.... keep a-hunting :D
  8. uum... ok, cheers. What?
  9. Aaah 4wd.... that explains a lot. Although one wonders why this dude would shove a 9" diff in it, seeing as it would probably have IRS and a diff centre that would be upradeable... unless of course they have a live axle... hmmm I'm confused again. And one would also assume this model had and east-west engine.... and now its north-south... where the hell has he put the gearbox? Cut a whopping great hole in the firewall? I mean... its cool and all... but what an immense f@$karound... why not just start with an rx7 and THEN throw money at it.... Aaah I dunno. oh, and I'll second the mmm re: gt-t caldina.... If only they were available in manual *sigh* Incedentally... compliance should be available for aforementioned Caldina by mid year... anybody want one? :D
  10. Wagons rock. I had a poo brown '70... no rear seats, flip-up plywood false floor and a mattress. Drove it round Oz... the whole way. You probably heard me driving through Katherine as the gearbox was eating bits of itself :D
  11. I'm stuck on number 4... "discharge" I love that word :D
  12. I thought they hadn't discovered plastic in ipswich yet... still using bakelite and carving things from wood :D
  13. Bonnet scoops seem to be mandatory :D
  14. What the? Its a toyota.... 1993... looks like a rolla or corona import, but rwd? I have no idea.... I guess it might be a full custom drag chassis but the ad says its certified which I think means engineered in unzud speak.... Any ideas? I'm at a loss. Obscureness
  15. Talent. :D
  16. Dirt FTW
  17. Yeah the front should be the same.... I've found that when when they get driven into a pole or something similarly immovable, the plastic pops out again but the metal bit behind it gets deformed and pushes the edges up or down... a judicious flogging fixes that up, but quite often the small plastic tangs that attach the bumper to the metal support have been broken off and its hard to get it sitting flat again. A heat gun and some sikaflex will be your best friends :)
  18. Thats nice dude.... Hey if you take the rear bumper of and flog the metal support behind it you should be able to get it to sit straight again... have you thought about maybe a VK SS rear spoiler? You'd have to do a quick cut'n'shut to get it the right width but it would suit the car quite well....
  19. bit below the belt Jip.... come on dude
  20. Thats 2 star wars references in the one thread...
  21. Kinda reminds me of an imperial stormtrooper....
  22. "Verkleidung Packwagen"
  23. Yeah no worries.... I have an industrial shed right next to a toyota dealer... got an assortment of cars and a bit of shit lying around in it but its got a hoist and a gantry crane and there's about 150sqm of space left you can use be a bugger of a drive home in the arvo though... bring the red bull Sorry dude... Had to :)
  24. good onya mate... I admire your determination and conviction. I'm sure you will derive immense satisfaction from saying "ha! told you so..." when you get it on the road and go cruisin... drawing stares and making women weak at the knees from a mere glimpse of your enormous wheels. And three weeks later, when you have no licence, it will look lovely sitting in your driveway as you ride your bike past it on your way to work.
