  1. Unfortunately they are white with hideously lurid company paintschemes. Fortunately, the fish up here are similarly colourful. :jamie:
  2. Damn it! I'd better win the Aurion comp or I'm going to be very cross. Although, I do find some solace in knowing a genuine enthusiast is going, rather than some un-appreciative knuckledragger or drift monkey. Well done old chap... I have lots of friends in Germany who would love to get you very very drunk and challenge you to a game of scrabble (in german) if that sounds appealing... I lived there for a while, you'll enjoy it. The Nurburgring is in a beautiful part of the country too. Are you sure you can't take Redwarf with you? Otherwise we have to hear about it the whole time you're gone.... :)
  3. Unfortunately, everything surrounding the engine has a tendency to fall off or break. ie: the rest of the vehicle. The fuel door fell off one of the Focii yesterday... just fell off. The painted metal cover isn't even attached to the car... its GLUED to a plastic support which has the hinge on it. GLUED ffs. That to add to the list thus far: Aircon vents fell INTO the dash Plastic underbody splash panels coming loose and dragging on the road outer door window seals shrinking and lifting at either end 2 broken door handles rear wiper not working chrome exhaust tip... goooone so so many goddamn mutherf@$king squeaks and rattles and dear sweet jesus the flasher relay has to be the LOUDEST most obtrustive noise I have ever encountered which is exponetially annoying when the car spends so much of its time on the side of the road, broken down WITH THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON... Aaaargh! Unfortunately, they're insured for agreed value so we're just waiting until the point in time when that amount becomes slightly more than the residual on the lease so we can let the recalcitrant f@$kers accidentally roll down a boat ramp into the ocean.
  4. Is the Polo GTi going to leave you feeling insecure or inadequate? Cos they're a good bit o fun... they have the engine from the previous gen Golf GTi...
  5. Those are some f'ken huuge axle stands right there... can't get THOSE at supercheap...
  6. I'm stuffing around with SA63 struts into my Ke70 atm... not sure if the lcas will bolt up though. Do ke30/ke70 have the same size lca mount?
  7. Not sure what brand in particular those ones are, but that design are called Superlites Koenig "rewind" are pretty easy to find at most tyre dealers. You *may* have trouble finding them in your stud pattern but don't quote me on that. I've only seen them in 4x114.3 and 4x100 is all...
  8. Bosozoku style gearknob... although the rest of the car isn't.
  9. Best one you can afford dude.... the cheap ones are really terrible... the wire gets stuck and the amperage is irregular and blah blah... get a gas mig if you have the cash they do a much better job.
  10. I don't think you did. All RWD Gemini's were Opel derived and as such, metric. Always been 4x100 from TX-TG rwd and from RB onwards in fwd. KE30 is 114.3 (4") I've owned them all.
  11. I've seen a few of these fixed up and painted in ol school pastel colours... they look really clean and neat. Good luck :)
  12. I hate to be Mr. pedantic des, but your sig says ke10 2 door sedan.... wouldn't that be a coupe? :) Oh yeah, my first car EVER was a KE55 with jellybeans just like that... 13x6 with 205/60 Fuldas. Aaah the memories.
  13. Yeah... completely agree with you there... The new sprinter/celica could have been like the celica/supra thing they had going on in the 80's... Same basic chassis, different driveline and cosmetic bodywork. Even if they'd budget-ised and lightened the Beams Altezza slightly instead of making it all fluffy and heavy... a coupe and hardtop convertible version would have looked porn too. Oh well. I guess enthusiasm has taken a back seat to economic rationalism at Toyota HQ for the last 10 years or so....
  14. Coke used to have a green label until they realised the color red incites a hunger/thirst instinctive response in our brain. In fact they were the first to realise it... now you know why all the fast food chains have red as the predominant colour in their signage, packaging, advertising etc.
  15. Gemini is 4x100 +20something offset
  16. It has... And yeah its going to be the Aurion V6 so by the time its released there should already be a half decent amount of aftermarket stuff floating around for that engine... and the blower option too... lets see how long it takes before someone yanks THAT off and whacks on a dirty big garrett T04 and FMIC.... ;) Gee maybe we'll even get a new Supra this decade, and if we're reeeeaaally lucky the shinybums in tokyo might find merit in the "new" rwd sprinter concepts floating around... Apprently they're not confident that a small 2 door rwd will sell very well... HELLOOOO Mazda has sold MILLIONS of MX5's for f@$ks sake...
  17. Or just buy Mrs. Dwarf a scooter and a raincoat and save your cash until 2009 I'm forcing Mrs. Shades to make do with driving my shitter KE70 (much to her disgust) until I decide on which AWD wagon to import... These girls can be remarkably understanding at times... ;)
  18. That bigflea site has good info on what to do with the rear end... and just think, TE72 running gear in a car that wieghs quite a bit less... mmmmm...... ;) Now go to bed!
  19. Yeah dude... grab the 72 and pillage it for everything its worth! If nothing else, the T-50 is a stronger 'box to put power through, and you'll probably need one sooner or later anyway if you're gunna inject some looove into the 27. If you have the time and space, take the diff too. The AE86 guys will gladly give you wads of cash for it. By chance, is this TE72 online anywhere? A Link perhaps? Over here we have quite a hankerin' for the quad headlights as we didn't get them on our locally delivered *e7* series, so if this thing has 'em you may be able too offload to someone here or on www.ke70.com and further recoup your outlay. PS: I had a mate once who spent a bucketload importing and converting a Fiero to RHD cos he reckoned they were the best thing EVER... drove it for 6 months before the bucket of crap had a mild electrical pissfart, erupted into flames and completely burned to the ground. :bash: He now owns my old '65 belair... some people never learn ;)
  20. Put your spare TE27 on ebay dude... if seen rolling shells sell for big $$ over there. F20C is a Honda S2000 engine. (www.bigflea.com) As for your dilemma, I'd suggest you haunt this site for a while and gather some food for thought. Both cars have merit... The TE72 was released here as a T-18. They share a very similar floorpan and drivetrain (except engine) to the AE86 so aftermarket parts are easy to come by. (www.technotoytuning.com has some shiny things) However... the TE27 is wicked old school coolness and with a few simple enhancements they can be made to perform and handle surprisingly well... the T series engine gives you a very worthy starting point to work with. Check out a few of the rides on this site for some ideas... quite a few here members have *e2* corollas with varying degrees of modification from stock restored to full race trim. Have you checked out www.toyota3tc.com?
  21. Hey guess what... I was just down at the shed again and the toyota boys let me in on a little secret.... The AWD 200kw version WILL be released in AU in 2009 as a TRD badged "sportivo" (like the Aurion) and will be marketed squarely as a competitor to the WRX... there will be two sportivo variants with the option of a supercharger! Apparently this is toyota's new sportscar push following the demise of the celica and mr2... I'm excited ;)
  22. Yeah you're right... toyota lads reckon sedan is an update only. Doors are indentical. They also reckon there's rumours of a diesel variant... any word on that little tidbit Mr. Ancullen, our illustrious tome of corolla wisdom?
  23. Really? I thought they were lighter.... They look smaller anyway. Took a couple for a quick strap this arvo after our little chat (courtesy the boys at toyota next to my shed shhh don't tell the boss) and I reckon I still like em. Arse end doesn't bother me too much, but I suppose the tail lights could be slightly more profiled so as to look less like hemorhoids. Base model looks a bit average (ignore white contact transit covers) Conquest looks MUCH nicer in the metal, has alloys, foggies, and a boot spoiler. Wheels really make a difference. My dog approves. Has the "conventional" interior as well. Not overly exciting but pleasant enough. Instrument cluster is cool and looks wicked at night. I'd still own one... if for no other reason than I could sell it in 2 years and still get 16k with 50k on the clock.
  24. It would... for compliance. aaaand then you whack it back on. ;)
