  1. Sam, for someone with very little spare time, you have too much time on your hands. :D carry on...
  2. I punched it in and it worked... just in the little quicksearch box on the front page of ppq
  3. Just waiting for custom hand-turned billet alloy numberplates and zinc-plated linished shot peened and blueprinted screws to arrive
  4. "no fear" sticker ftw
  5. Hmmm the pressure input wire looks to be recieving constant 12v instead of the variable voltage the sender generates... recheck your wiring methinks
  6. I've been flogging a 1MZ around occasionally of late... hooked to a 5 speed in fact. f@$ken fantastic engine, even with a camry wagon wrapped around it.
  7. Beaudesert-spec
  8. Its only the instrument cluster you'll need to replace... just the bit with the speedo and fuel guage etc. Its about 8 screws in an ae82.
  9. aaaah thats what I like to see... a captive 'rolla returned to the wild
  10. The SR20/AE86 swap is actually quite common over here... from where do you hail rosegum?
  11. ae82 is definately 4x100 mate. Clock and dash are easy to fit... all the wiring is already there, you just have to take the old one out, and plug the new one in. easy as.
  12. Nice one... Go hunting at your local wrecker and see if you can find a cs-x model... grab yourself a tacho dash and clock and a few other flash bits. Other than that, a nice set of wheels is always one of the first enhancements you can make... no need to go spending up big, AE82's have the same stud pattern as most other small cars from that era onwards (4x100) so you'll be able to whack on some factory alloys from a newer corolla or pulsar or something... 15" is a good size, very common, and 100 bucks would probably get you a set. Tyres are cheap too. When the budget allows... a set of lowered springs, tint the windows, colour code the bumpers and your car will be transformed
  13. Dear sweet chocolate jesus... did she book a dentist for next week too?
  14. Phat. very cool. I love charcoal wheels.... well done, now lower it please
  15. I have heard tell of this mythical beast... a spoontah I believe.
  16. Yes, yes you are. I intend to furnish my GF's side of the garage with a TR4 some time in the next few years. :D
  17. How did you end up driving a corolla if your old man has such good taste in cars? Evidently, not everything is heriditary :D
  18. +1 for rover V8.... Chronically unreliable in the vehicles they were released with, but when rebuilt and tweaked they can produce very decent power and monsterous amounts of torque. Light too....
  19. L18 is a MUCH better motor... loses a bit of torque over the L20 but loves to rev... Problem with L motors is they require twin carbs and headers to provide any useful power... that kinda blows a hole in the budget right there. Oh and the gearbox won't fit in the ke70 tunnel without flogging the snot out of it and cutting the chassis reinforcement away for the shifter hole.
  20. x 2 L20's are a boat anchor. Don't bother. The time/money ratio would not equal the perfomance gained.
  21. My hydro brake was in addition to the standard cable one... just an upright lever on a nylon pivot bolted to the side of the trans tunnel. I had all my brake lines running inside the cabin (rally rules) and yeah the master cylinder did spring a leak once.
  22. Was definately an MX83... Grande with leather and sunroof too. I'm gunna stalk it after it leaves the tow company's holding yard and find out which wrecker it goes to... I have an MX73 with compulsory BHG sitting on bricks out the back, nanna's nicely treated 7MG would slot into it nicely :D
  23. Illegal... Hydraulic Hbrakes don't actually use the standard handbrake cables... you bypass the rear brake lines and run them to a master cylinder attached to a lever in the cabin, then run lines back to the rear brakes.
  24. dammit des stop telling people to get a beams... I wanna be special 1. about 4.5k
  25. Well it rains for at least 6 months of the year so you have a big window of opportunity... also in the early 90's when Cairns started booming the council employed a british town planner... which means we have an insane amount of roundabouts. Check out google maps... the big ones on the highway heading north (where I live) are great fun when slightly moist :)
