All of mine have two temp senders... one on the side (like yours) and another around the other side of the thermo housing at the front. I'd take a pic but its dark and there are wolves after me

Soooo what you're saying is: Its rusty, full of bog, automatic, the suspension is rooted, the paint is poo and it has holes in the bootlid where someone has attached an ironing board. Myself I'd probably start again with a better one and put this thing out the back for parts. At the very least I'd ditch the wing... all its doing is attracting police and creating drag.

My grandad restores vintage... he also has an old chev, I think its a 1914 or 18. Bloody immaculate... I'll take some piccies when I go round there this soon to do the chrissy thing :y:

Sorry. I'm not very good at being politically correct. :y:

Most I've had have fallen off anyway :y: You can just yank it off and it won't make a lick of difference... the engine side is only a cover that sits on the manifold to trap the warm air... and the intake side has a little flap inside that closes itself off at ambient temperatures above about 5 deg anyway.

So did I... but occasionally I have moments of weakness.

Oh dear god. I'm getting flashbacks. Fat people. America. Nausea. I actually watched some television last night and needless to say it left me feeling angry and frustrated. I hate the American media we are spoonfed on TV... I hate the American dream this country seems to be aspiring to. I think its time for an early morning rant. Make a coffee. I am reminded of the time I was sitting on a plane behind an enormous, disgusting, bloated American woman, fully reclined and snoring off the 10,000 calories she probably had for breakfast. We’re talking orca fat, she can’t even get the belt around her planetary sized mid section, so has thrown safety (my safety as well, should the bitch land on me) to the wind in favor of enough maneuverability to snarf down the greasy arse cheeseburger they served up on this continental flight from Chicago to Los Angeles. (Thats right, a cheeseburger... on other US domestic flights I have been served such other culinary delights as pizza) Could have been worse, at least I wasn't next to her. Can’t these people help themselves? Americans are such a paradox, on one hand you have some of the most health conscious people in the world, the leading nation in terms of science and nutrition, the most successful sporting nation on the planet (they do win the olympics all the time, per capita stats not withstanding), mixed right in with the fattest, dumbest, most ignorant self important god-bothering assholes you’ll find anywhere. I can’t believe some people have trouble picking the difference, but I guess if your exposure to America is overseas news reports and jay leno asking people on the streets of Queens to name a country starting with “U” and getting vacant stares, ‘utah’ or ‘u-rop’ as an answer I can’t blame anyone. (NOBODY answers USA, although those that did no doubt were edited out in the name of entertainment). Bah I'm over it. Nobody wants to hear me ramble on. Note to self: don't watch any more mind numbing soul crushing brain liquifying American TV.

Unlikely, no, and negative. AE82 are fwd and a completely different floorpan and body. The 'E' just means corolla.

Better than a commodore or falcon, surprisingly. Although I'd say the Aurion isn't so much high as the X-Trail is low... being as they are just a hatchback with big wheels and no ground clearance...

My GF had this happen to her a couple of days ago as well... (she works in a bottleshop owned by coles/wesfarmers) Took them 6 hours to fix, and the customers were yelling at HER like it was her bloody fault... I ended up going down there til they fixed it so I could yell back at the f@$kers.

Plus rep for use of the word "grunter" in appropriate context... :lolcry:

A few phone cam randoms Unlikely kia Backpacker Troopy... loses something in the translation but gets the message across I guess My work car's speedo... Engine mods by Satan Racing. The GF and I thought this was pretty funny, "oh look its the special bus, har de har" ... Until we overtook it and it WAS actually full of retards. We had a brief moment of moral reckoning and decided it was still worth giggling about. I'd hate to be the poor bastard who's job it is to hose out the drool every day... :lolcry:

She can drive, I taught her :fuzz: Also she has EXPRESS instructions re: the quads... ie: she bends 'em, she finds a new set :lolcry: And yeah I took my time installing them properly. Having an air powered bodysaw helps immensely. They're still not quite perfect though... I'm going to reshape the parker recesses ever so slightly before I repaint it.

I find the standard KE70 front quite boring. This is MUCH better. I've had these for a while, figured it was about time to actually put them on a car. Benji and Eddie. Eddie is soon the be the recipient of a major rebuild and repowering.
-
Ok so its been a couple of years, I figure I'm ready to start a build thread now... but DON'T RUSH ME ALREADY I can't handle the immense peer pressure and scrutiny :lolcry: This is Benji. I picked him up a little while ago for the missus to drive, so she can stop thrashing the snot out of mine and I can take it off the road for re-incarnation. Collecting it was a mission in itself... details here. So at this point it had cut springs, rooted shocks, and several missing wheel studs. These problems have been rectified with nice new stock replacements for the time being. I binned the cooked head and threw another reco one on (which I had in the shed, handy) with a new gasket. After much pissfarting around and gnashing of teeth it still used oil and water so I decided to replace the entire engine with another one. (which I also had in the shed, handy) Cleaned up the bay. New engine in. Since its a girliemobile I threw a bit of paint around first... :fuzz: The motor is currently out of the car again... 2nd gear was a bit notchy and the clutch wasn't 100% so I've replaced the 5 speed, machined the flywheel and a brand new clutch is on. Missus is using the opportunity to paint MORE things pink, ie: fuel pump, alternator, engine mounts, etc. Looks hideous :bash: Has a nice new set of headers and a rejetted 32/36 weber. I have a cam here too but it the combination of lumpy idle and a weber makes it impossible (for the moment) to idle with the aircon on, so whenever I decide to overcome that problem I might whack the cam back in.

^^^^ aaah I can see the link there.... they have the same fuel consumption and handle similarly.
