  1. Well if you like the AE9* architechture, The AE94 4wd wagons (technically not a tercel, but look just as ugly and yet inexplicably that makes them cool in my eyes) are quite capable as well, but lose some ground clearance and modification options.
  2. I have EXTENSIVELY tested the AL25 Tercel. Several of them in fact :hmm: You would not believe the things they can do.... Clearance is surprisingly good, departure angle is the only thing holding them back. Could do with a bit more torque too. But other than that, they love sand and mud and I've yet to break ANY part of the driveline....
  3. The ORIGINAL handling option was actually removing the tyres from the rims and placing the car on a set of railway tracks, however most customers found the ride a little firm and the lack of travel options rather limiting. Other options were considered, but market research indicated most customers were only interested in driving very fast in straight lines anyway, so no action was taken. The GTHO moniker, however, stuck.
  4. Check the nightclubs with the rainbow flags or stickers out front. Plenty of studs there champ.
  5. See...... THIS is why I can't have nice things. They'll never be quite this nice, and that will make me rather disenchanted and unmotivated...
  6. Thanks for sharing dude... some nice pics there. I went through Puerto years ago.... good food :hmm:
  7. While I'm sure a manual awd conversion is possible, my point still remains.... why don't TOYOTA just do it....
  8. Hmmm. I would just like to point out something.... Millions of lesbians, whilst visually entertaining, would, in the end, lead to nothing but frustration...
  9. mmmm... mylanta greeeeen....... :D
  10. Once again, I go back to my point. Driver education. Most people have NO idea how hard it is to drive big things in traffic.
  11. On the subject of closeness.... Fellow patrons of the road who see the nice big gap I have intentionally left in front of my FULLY LOADED 8 TONNE 60 SEAT F*UCKING COACH and decide to whip into it as I am decelerating up to the lights. There is a REASON the gap is there, primarily; it serves as a buffer, as heavy vehicles are much more difficult to stop, and change direction. The next bloody woman in a hyundai getz with pink seat covers that does it, is going to discover an angry scania rooting her tailgate. Grrrr.
  12. Lexus, yep. Pricetag, nope. RWD, Midsize, Manual, Falcodore price bracket = KILLER
  13. I'm ALL about pimpin. I got a rolla to go fast round corners... the JZX is purely for cruisin, reprazentin' da white middle class stylezz. :D I'd have to think hard about the IS-F.... for that kinda moolah I could slide into my dream car.... E39 BMW M5....
  14. Tacho dash is plug n play. All the plugs and wiring are there already.
  15. We had a jump we called '3 potato'... cos when you hit sky you start counting "one potato, two potato..." until you acquired the planet again :D Had a datto stanza to do it in, we managed to separate the body from the floorpan. 'Twas fun.
  16. Thats pretty much the same logic I have used to justify it to my missus as well. The fact that it goes like shit off a shanghai is just a bonus... :D Not cheap though. In the trim level and auction grade I want (and I'm a picky bastard) I'm not expecting much change from 25-28k. Still much cheaper than any local equivalent that would come even close to matching it though...
  17. I already have a Taliwagon :D Well, a Surf anyway. Its just a hilux with electric things and a sunroof...
  18. On the subject of learners and manual transmissions: Get thee a shitbox and a big f@$koff paddock. There ye shall learn all that is needed to navigate the urban jungle with confidence and safety.... I was driving as soon as I could touch the pedals, out in the boonies. I understand not everyone is lucky enough to have the space to do such a thing, you unfortunate city dwellers you, but i have always believed that thrashing the buggery out of an old car in a field is the best way to understand how to control a nice one on the street.
  19. Just for the record, I did own an XW... bought as a stocker and rebuilt to GS spec. Olive green, with black leather. 'Twas nice, but swapped it for a HT Belmont panelvan which I also restored... :D
  20. In the interests of public education... JZX100 Mark II Tourer V, Series 2 My apologies for posting PORN on this otherwise wholesome forum... gnnnnnnnk... aaah.
  21. Heartbreaking, for sure. I can appreciate time, effort and detail... and as an investment, they have a guaranteed return. But at the end of the day, thats the only appeal these would hold for me. A conservatively styled family sedan with a big engine in it... that someone is happy to pay half a million dollars to own. I view the '57 Chev in a very similar light.
  22. f@$k ^^^ THAT
  23. Oh, and while we're at it, a different licence class for anything over 2 tonnes. Little people in big 4wds are fecking scary and and dangerous if they haven't been taught how to drive them.
  24. I'm getting a JZX100 Mark II next month, because it suits all my requirements for a midsize RWD manual sedan, with at least 200kw, and not a falcodore. Which got me thinking... Seriously... why did Toyota AU bother creating the hopelessly unremarkable and wrong-wheel-drive TRD Aurion (or, Frankencamry as I like to call it) when things like this have been majestically tearing up the streets of Japan for years? GRX-120 = 3GR-FE Supercharger Rear Wheel f@$king Drive 56k click here and come back tomorrow I will probably upgrade to one of these in a few years as they become available for import. Toyota AU, you suck. Really. If it weren't for grey imports this bloody annoying brand loyalty I seem to have developed, I would have jumped ship years ago.
