That dash cluster is so boring, I feel noticeably depressed now for having looked at it.

Yeah its just the green plastic. Although... It a bit dimmer now. I'm not sure if that's because I over-tinted the redness, or the old school display just works better with green.... Still perfectly legible though.

So I actually did something to this thing today other than drive it This is yucky and green. New polycarbonate, trimmed to size Clock is also yucky green. Remove yucky green plastic, replace with another bit of polycarbonate, tinted red Fitted to bezel, holes drilled for odo reset and clock adjust Little grommet thingies back in, also ran a bead of hot glue around the edges to keep dust out That's betterer All fitted up. Soooo much clearer and modern-looking than the factory one. Cluster surround repainted with bumper finish black. Also note the large bit missing where the radio goes... There's actually another piece of polycarbonate there. I cut out that entire section above the air vents and flush fitted the polycarbonate to the cluster surround, on the back side. There will be gauges in there, once I get around to making a mini-cluster of sorts which matches the factory one. Oh and I made everything red. I like red. Very red.

'sif 14 days... I've bought cars from backpackers and driven them for months on NSW rego. I also had my Chaser complied in Sydney, registered for three months under the workshop's name, then 'sold' to me via the disposal form method. Drove it until the rego ran out, questioned by the police in that time, no problems.

When the seller hands over the keys, he'll make you sign a 'disposal form' with your details, which he then mails in to the NSW RTA. So its not transferred into your name, but its not in his either. You'll just be in the NSW system as the buyer. Once that rego runs out, you can't renew it without a RWC (in NSW or QLD) so you'll need to get QLD rego after that.

Or just flog it around on the NSW reg until it runs out...

NSW Rego can't be transferred. You'll need a QLD RWC, and new rego/plates. Yes you'll need modplates.
