I've always loved the Ke70 and when one was presented to me i snapped it up in a heartbeat!
It is a 1982 Toyota corolla Ke70 Flat front, when i got the car it was a bit of a mess. It had obviously been trashed because driving this thing you thought the car was gonna fall apart! After buying a second donor KE i began swapping the crap out! The diff was noisy and leaking, the subframe was bent! The springs in the rear had been chopped severely, and the list goes on. After months of messing around i have finally got it driving well. The motor is a 5k, with a 40mm weber carb, electronic ignition, electri. Fuel pump, extractors and a 2inch exhaust. The car is alot of fun but I'm wanting more from the motor! I recently aquired a 3k( unsure if its a small or big port) with a mild cam and a single weber carb. I've read all the 5k builds and can't seem to find as much info as i would like. I don't want to put a 4age or ca18 or sr20 in the car, i love the simplicity to the K series motors! Ideally id like to turbo charge the 5k(ive seen to many with a SC14) i have a small turbo from a corolla 7afe and a 5k manifold that i could modify, Can anyone give me some advice on draw through and blow through turbo set up's, is it possible to still use the carb i have? Or would i be better to use the 3k? Can the 3k head bolt on a 5k?(unsure if it has dished pistons or not)
And if the heads are not interchangeable, would the mild cam be interchangeable? I am not a mechanic hence why I'm asking for advice, i don't want smart ass replies like "Just put a 4AGZE in and be done with it" This is my daily driver so taking it off the road for too long wont work for me, Thanks!
