I assume it's located in Brisbane?

Very nice indeed. Not a big fan of the 'chin spoiler' but each to their own. I wish i had the skills to modify the front suspension like that. I'm just scared i'll ruin something while trying to modify it and not be able to find replacements...

I Want Pictures Or Diagrams Of Suspension - Ke10/11s
mattress replied to JOEKA's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=30949 There's a bit of info for you... Did you bother to do any searching for yourself? -
Yes, quite easily and the simple fact is i'm not happy with it and i'm not sure it'll ever be finished. It's hardly even been started and it's got a long way to go. Before i bought my house i didn't care what happened to my cash, now i have other priorities. I probably should have bought and finished the car before i bought the house. Oh well, one day...... maybe.....

I found my KE10-B on here about 2 or 3 years ago. Probably payed too much but at the time i had to have it. My initial thoughts were a simple respray and make it a daily driver. Now that i've started it's turning into a full restoration. I'm quickly getting jack of it just sitting there with no time or motivation to do anything. One day i might get back in to it, but i don't think i'm silly enough to sell just yet...

Old fella, unfortunately grills can be changed as can tail lights etc. Does it have the hole in the dash to suit the 'bug eye' intruments or the flat type? We may not have gotten the 67 model here but there is always the chance it's an import...

I ran just a stock HD type clutch in my 300 rwhp 180sx. It served me well for a number of years and was still not slipping when i sold the car. On another note, I've driven my brothers 12a turbo 1300 wagon with a button type clutch and it's a pain in the ass around town. I recommend that you go with the heavy duty...

Just after a quick clarification on some KE10 rear brake cylinders. Is there such a thing as a left and a right or are the rears exactly the same thing, thus making them interchangeable? Also, are KE10 and KE11 rear cylinders the same or did they change over the various years and models? Thanks, Matt...

Rob, you keep asking about the safety issue of the swaybar hitting the brake caliper. My only guess is that KE1X's generally had front drums or the original calipers were smaller. Thus on an unmodified vehicle the swaybar wouldn't hit the caliper.

I'm pretty sure i've got a decent set of KE11 lights. I'm on holidays for a week though so i'll have to check when i get home...

That means it's a KE10-B. My KE10-B has later dash and tail lights with ami badge and aussie diff. I also had a wreck here that was a KE10 with early lights and dash with an aussie diff...

I used KE20 hubs with KE70 discs and calipers and KE55 backing plates. All bolted on easy as. I think the bolt pattern on the KE70 backing plate is different...

It's a fraction of the cost because it's a crap motor. After all you get what you pay for... Having said that, i've no doubt it'll go well...

I came across a stall at the toowoomba swap meet yesterday where a guy had 4 MS65 hubbies. I asked him how much for the set and nearly fell over when he said $5 each. I promptly snapped the set up. Whenever i see these caps advertised or on a car they are either the slotted type or the solid type. The guy told me the slotted type go on the front for the disc brakes. Is he telling fibs or is it an odd set? I would much rather go with a full set of either type but i couldn't pass them up for $5 each...

I see your point with the floppy head, i've used a ratchet like that and it annoyed me no end. Though don't those kinchrome spanners have a lock to stop the head moving?
-
Some good points made. Anyone have the flexible head type? Any good or bad points with those?
-
I'm looking at buying a set of ratchet spanners and just wanted to see what people owned, liked, hated or whatever. I can't make up my mind if the 'lever reversible' or the 'flip over reversible' type is better. I'm looking at getting the Kincrome flex lock gear spanners. I imagine the flexible, lockable head would come in handy for some tight areas. If anyone has a set or any input feel free to post up...

Nah, no circlip pliers but the needlenose worked fine. Thanks for the help...

Ok, i'm having trouble again. I've got the knobs off but now i can't get the switch and shroud out. There is a chrome ring with two holes in it on the cabin side of the shroud/dash. I've stuck my massive melon behind the dash to have a look but i can't see a nut behind there. My theory is that i have to acquire a tool or make something up with two little pins to turn the chrome ring. Anyone give me any advice or help.....?

Agreed, no tint. I'm a fan of the black wheels. I love fender mirrors too mate. How do you go using them? Theres a topic around here somewhere with people hating them. Just thought i would get your opinion...

Boostcrusing Just Got A Little Bit Cooler
mattress replied to duggy's topic in Automotive Discussion
Boostcruising surely is full of little tockle jockeys but it has sold 2 cars for me so i can't complain too much... -
Hush316: Yeah i'll do a little bit of searching and get a few quotes. Considering the car is 'quite straight' with rust in front of the rear wheels and front guards i think it's a little over the top. The tail lights i scored off ebay. They pop up every now and again. Be prepared to pay through the nose for them though. Wareenfromtonny: Sounds good mate, throw a topic up in readers rides. At this stage i'm staying with the 4K that came in it, though with a sprinter twin carby setup and a cam.

Small update. I had a look at my first post and can't believe i've had this car about two and a half years. I've been doing small amounts on the car here and there but still no real progress. Engine and box are out, as is just about everything else. A little more work on getting the paint off and i should be about ready to talk to some panel beaters. I talked to a panel beater mate i went to school with today. He has he own little setup and specialises in old car work. I realise panel work is expensive but i got a shock at the sight unseen quote of 8K without paint.

My KE10 has had newspaper stuffed in a rust hole under my battery tray and bogged over. I cringe to think about what else i'm going to find...
