1. Keep trying a few more places. I went to a local car parts dealer and they ordered them in for me. Also try ebay, tie rods come up there at times as well... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Lower-Ball-Joints-1968-79-Toyota-Corolla-KE10-Rare-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53e43cfc97QQitemZ360311487639QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
2. I know how you are feeling and i haven't even had the panel work done yet. Sometimes i just wanna throw it in, but i don't want to be one of those people that says they are gonna finish a car and never does. I also have parts sitting around everywhere. I can only hope they still look good when i need them, haha. Hang in there mate.
3. About 3 weeks ago i had to swap from a broken 4 speed to a 5 speed. Tailshaft worked no problem at all.
4. Fantastic update Hansel...
5. Mine was built 1969 and has no rear seatbelts. I won't be putting them in.
6. Wheel on the right is the one which will be for sale. Will be away for a few days, so i'll be offering it for sale after the weekend. Some pics for those interested.
7. SL wheel is now in my hot little hands. Will post pics up soon if anyone is interested in buying it.
8. I'm in very much the same boat. I have a set of twin aisans and a 5K in the shed ready for a mild rebuild. I plan to stick with the original carbs because they are original and i already have them. If i had a webber in the shed i would probably go with one of those. I can't imagine the stock carbs are that bad, the factory used them for extra performance so they have to be better than a factory single carb. Don't they? Sure it'll never be a world beater performance wise but it won't be with a webber either. If you have the factory twins stick with those. If not the world is your oyster.
9. The wheel wasn't cheap, bearing in mind i have seen an SL wheel go for $500 on ebay with a cracked rim and no horn button. The freight to get it here is the real killer. Anyway I'll keep this updated when it arrives. As for the carbs, haven't looked at them. Will really have to get motivated one day and start doing something on the car.
10. Looks like i have another SL steering wheel on the way. Once I've viewed my new acquisition and decided which one to keep one will be up for sale if anyone is keen. The car was returned to me after sitting at the panel beaters for a month and having only the roof done. With a lot of other shit going on at the moment the car has been sitting for about 10 months waiting for another panel beater. One day...
11. Correction. Real men don't need to shave anything, doors included.
12. Haven't taken any notice and don't really care. The question you have to ask is, what will it look like when you're done and is it worth all the effort?
13. Considering what the paint looks like underneath I don't really see the point?
14. Well it's all irrelevant. You can't have an engine conversion on your P's.
15. I hate to be a downer Ken but everything looked very promising until yesterday. That day a little piece of me died.
16. Said in breaking high pitched voice, "gee i dunno scoob"
17. It's the age old, people want to pay bottom dollar to buy something and get top dollar when they sell something. Go elsewhere and try to buy a set and see what they cost. You might get lucky and get some for half the price. Then again, you might not find any...
18. Agreed, steer clear of metallics and pearls.
19. I work with the owners brother. Could be bullshit though as he lives in a different town from me and i haven't viewed the car in person. Though the ebay username does match up...
20. Anyone else....?
21. Sorry, a little more info might help. It is 13' and came from japan. Not that that means it couldn't be Chrysler...
22. Can anyone name the car this hubcap belongs to? Any help is appreciated...
23. $80 for a tow truck? Must be the going rate in other parts of the country. I get dirty at having to pay any more than $50. Just out of curiosity how far do you have to go?
24. It all comes down to the individual. I myself wouldn't put whitewalls on anything from the late 70's onwards. I'm restoring a KE10 so that's the option i'm going. I hate the flapper style a lot of people run with but i can sort of understand due to nobody making decent tyres in whitewalls. It's a little hard to be individual these days with so many people modding cars and especially hard to be individual with a corolla on a corolla forum...
25. Not with a KE30 grille it won't...
