i have heard that about the t25s but for 6-8 psi should be fine, i don't plan on revving the crap out of it so the t25 should be good till i get bored haha. with the pump thats why i didnt want to run any more than necessary, and a vl pump was definatly on the cards but the really high pressures were what steered me clear of it, plus i have a use for this pump to feed a big carb on my kingswood once i decide to change to efi in this, so it will all work out pretty good i reckon. as for drivability, what is it like? I'm sure i will have to get the dizzy recurved so it doesnt run as much advance which would probably make a fair difference id think. cheers :D

now its off defect, i have decided to turbo the 4K, just to see how it goes! was thinking have a decent fuel setup with surge tank etc so once this goes bang and i have the cash to do a 4age or whatever else, the fuel system wont need changing, i was wondering if anybody could give some info on how they made their blow through turbo setups, I'm making a j-pipe from the standard manifold to a t25 off an s13. running a front mount intercooler and back into a 32/36 weber. the fuel system i was thinking is a lift pump into surge tank, after surge tank have an aeroflow fuel pump thats 14psi max feeding to the front where ill have a 1:1 rising rate fuel pressure regulator. so on idle it will be giving the carby 3psi (or whatever is necessary for that weber) and when boost comes on the fuel pressure will be rising 1psi extra fuel to every 1psi of boost going into the motor, and the return overflow of fuel back into a T piece to the fuel feed line. i only plan on running 6 psi will the standard motor hold up okay with this small amount of boost? and is there anything else fuel/ turbo wise that will be needed? oil and water lines for the turbo have already been sorted! cheers :greenbounce:

some pics of the weekend, went for a drive through the hills which turnt into dirt roads, which changed to 4x4 tracks, showing off some flex ;)

This build is so sick! ive spent my afternoon in-between speedweek and this entire thread, when i probably should have been working on my rolla :hmm: but worth it! those wheels look sick too! props too you!!!!

Ke70 is left, 86 is right ^^^^
-
new strut brace ordered from Ebay arrived today, for an ae86 so had to elongate the holes a bit, but for 70 dollars you can't complain! and a picture of the 86 axle along side the ke70 axle..... and my most hated part about this car :fuzz:
-
well diff center went in no worries, both centers were 4.3 ratio so don't have to worry about speedo being out, but while i was doing it i noticed the wheel bearings are F*#$@ed, and could well be making he noise, still yet to test drive it tomorrow morning but hopefully all goes to plan. but the centre i took out was hammered anyway, the oil in the diff was about 1500ks old and it was literally metalic silver! while the 86 looked like fresh honey so I'm confident it will be SLIGHTLY better
-
got the center off the adm ae86 and the axle compared to the panelvan length wise, seems the same (without measurements) but the 86 has a smaller OD on the bearing than the KE70 panelvan measurements. ADM AE86 62mm. JDM KE70 66mm, as the bearing on the 86 looks new i was going to swap them over BUT they are different. the axles both measure the same OD.

well ive gotten sick of the diff whining, so loud and annoying, id rather the sound of a v6 commodore with no exhaust droning down the highway at 110. (yes ive been there done that) so I'm going out and taking the diff centre out of my parts car in 45 degree heat and gonna swap them over finally!
-
got it all in and running sweet, only issue ive had is got it registered on permit, put in a full tank of fuel drove for about 10 mins and the oil light came on 8/ but luckily it was just the sender!! but definatly scared the crap out of me! did about a 450km drive in it last night and went sweet apart from the diff being the loudest whining thing ever, i have an ae86 here with an s series in it so i will swap out the centres and hopefully its alright, pitts should be soon and it will finally be cleared of the defects FINALLY! and as for selling my donor ke70, thats not going to happen after looking under it and finding king springs and all new nolethane bushes throughout :D
-
finally some actual progress!! got the donor car on Saturday and took both motors out ready to swap over, had no idea how many differences there was with an ADM Ke70 and a JDM one, engine looms plugs clips + most boltons are different which is annoying but its almost ready to go back in! heres some pics  (sorry about the crap photos still haven't got around to getting a new phone)
-
considering not worrying about this project, got a heaps clean ke70 for cheap off a mate as a donor car for my panelvan because my motor had blown, and i might swap parts from this 86 to make a track car out of the ke70, be much easier as no body work needs doing, already has front to rear weld on guards all the bushes underneath replaced the only down side to it is that its got no compliance plates so can't be registered. but if anybody wants this shell + guards all glass uncracked dash, i am willing to sell fairly cheap, i just want the crossmembers and struts.
-
ahhh not sure about the motor have to have a suss when its out, i do have the rear half of the talshaft but not the front, yea ill have a look behind there, the rust isnt worrying me too much seems that i am a boilermaker shouldnt be too much to worry about haha
-
yea its been defected for the rust in 2005.... its bad haha am much more keen on drifting because there is a track about 50ks from my house, no idea were any rally events are around here apart from dirt circuit haha
-
finally found a new motor! comes with a complete ke70 off a mate, has a mild cam and extractors also! if anybody wants a rolling shell hit me up, will sell cheap! ;)
-
oh and i put the MA61s off my panelvan to make it look a little bit prettier...
-
heres some pics of it sitting in my yard haha, have only started to strip the interior out of it and i took one of the rear windows out too see how much rust there was hiding...
-
ill post up some close ups the bloke sent me of the rust, and a few other angles, fair bit of body work but its only for track anyway. and yes i was looking around on ebay and everywhere else, there is waaaay too many sweet things you can do to these haha. and for the engine I'm still not sure, maybe start with just a 4age to get the feel for drifting because ive never been on a track in a dedicated car before, just dirt roads and wet weather in all sorts of cars haha but if an sr pops up fairly cheap that would be the go!
-
so, this is my new project that I'm picking up this weekend, as you can see its not the prettiest thing around. it has alot of rust, i mean A LOT! still havent seen it in person but who is gonna complain when its this cheap... it has a 4ac in it at the moment and no gearbox or interior, hopefully be able to build it into something fun, and not spend too much money! sorry about the shitty pic, its all i have got that shows the good side...
-
still no updates.. been so lazy with zero motivation, and in need of a motor, if anybody has a 4k or a 5speed gbox anywhere in S.A i will buy it from you if your selling!!
-
Back into my fully enclosed shed to rip the old motor out and replace it with another standard 4k out of a mates ke70, he said i could have it if i help him with a 4age conversion, and take it out myself, which is a pretty good deal seeming that i will have some further experience and knowledge to do the conversion to my panno :) have also ordered the rack ends, wheel bearings and brake hoses needed for its next inspection. if theres anything else i notice that needs replacing while I'm at it, it will definitely be done! so keen to be driving this beauty again soon :)
-
well, my luck hasn't been real good these last few months, makes me want to just give up on all this shit, my new daily that i posted the photo of a few days ago, here's what it looks like now. :clover: Stolen and burnt haha really was a shame considering how reliable it was, and the air con worked :(( now i need to find another daily, if anybody has anything reasonable and cheap in SA let me know!
-
That's what I was planning, do it while there is plenty of room, suspension and swaybar bushes have been done alread, is it standard to have a 23mm swaybar??!
-
My new daily until the panno is resurrected, not bad for 200 dollars. definatly worth the 200 dollars in the amount of fun you can have in a little shit box like this :y:
-
oh and another minor setback, and the biggest de-motivator is that coming back from Adelaide the day before the inspection something went bang in the motor.. compression test came up 30psi in the first cylinder so if anybody has a spare 4k laying around that they wanna sell let me no
