  1. ok i changed the tail light surrounds with chrome ones scratched off the black paint on the vents to find chrome underneath. i was wrapped put my beefy B45's on the rear with the 225/60/15 rubber now the front ones are on and i rekon it looks awesome
  2. Well my B45 polished simmonds will go straight on it. I finally repaired the front rim from when it buckled on the orange rolla. So ye gotta get some tyres this week and slap em on. Havent really decided on a colour yet. Dunno if i really like blue cars so ye I'm up for ideas???
  3. I ripped it off just after the accident cos it came loose and was pokin out the drivers side
  4. Well i was on a busy road in melb near the city (Victoria St). Decided that there was too much traffic so indicated to turn right to take a different street. Basically it was just after an intersection (Russell St) so there was no traffic lights, just had to cross the 3 lanes of oncoming traffic. Traffic was banked up so waited til the first 2 lanes gave way. Creeped forward trying to see the 3rd lane as there was no car there yet. The nose of the car musthave been slightly poking into the 3rd lane hoping that the next car coming will see it and stop. But the lady driving in that lane was trying to chase the traffic lights at the intersection that id just past. (russell St). She was flying not lookin down at the traffic and didnt see me til the last minute. I was stationary and shit myself, not thinking to slap it in reverse. Her ABS kicked in and then BANG. So ye thats why its a tricky situation as in whos at fault, but i was stationary and she was definately speeding. So ive taken photos of the intersection and her skid marks on the road to try gather some evidence.
  5. ye i don't mind the black vinal. thanks for the tip. Just in case ya all didnt know, i was putting my roof lining in properly. Popped out the windscreen to stick the vinal. When putting the screen bak in i leavered it with a flathead, slipped and poked myself in the eye  Just thought id add that in the buildup lol just in case ya didnt read it in my V6 rolla thread haha
  6. thanks for the compliment with the console and heater controls. Only reason why i went for the V6 was becaues its alot cheaper and alot more powerful than the 4age or whatever small 4 cyl engine i could have put in. I know well that cut springs are not the go in the handling side of things but i know for a fact that the car does handle alot better than having standard springs in it. maybe you should try it one day...... the point that you have quoted as the springs are soft at the normal height is all good if i wanted a stock granny spec look and feel to the car, but unfortunately if i had that stance with this vehicle i would have ridiculous body roll with a front end heavy vehicle. look at the end of the day we are all individuals and we like our cars how we want them. I don't go out copying other people and like to be original, even if it has its down sides. BUT you learn from your mistakes. And i tell you one thing...this car is a winner for me, not a mistake. even though i have had criticism from many. I bet 90% of people on this forum would love to have the chance at driving a 900kg car with a V6 in it. So basically i appreciate your compliments but id suggest if you don't have the knowledge and if you rely on forums to get it, then best you do the work for yourself and see the difference. Sorry I'm just a little pissed off at this whole situation and I'm a little drunk and tired. So excuse any sarcasm and spelling in this post
  7. haha ye ill be needing luck after this week. Ok ill tell ya how the last few days went. Thursday i took a sicky from work cos i was tired and drcided to play with the KE30 2 door that i bought. as I'm fixing the roof lining, ive began veavering in the window rubber to put it back in place. The flathead slipped and poked me in the eye. Ended up at the eye and ear hospital and luckily i still have my eye. Went back the next day for a checkup and thats when the accident happened. ohh if ya wanna see my buildup so far with the 2 door its here http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=19795
  8. ye i know. thats where it gets hairy. but i had ways around it. i basically have to prove its her fault. and i do have proof she was speeding. so ill see how it goes
  9. ok well i know its been a while since ive added to this thread, and i wish i didnt have to add this post but unfortunately i do...gees ive had the worst week ever grrrrr yess i had a car accident. very tricky situation as to whos fault it is but technically its pointing to me :S oh and this is what i hit yep a 2007 BMW X5 ohh and what makes it worse is i went home to make the claim with my insurance and i find out that they sent out my renewal and reminder but i never recieved it. thanks
  10. ye got me nackered why people try going the white theme. especially in this case where they just sprayed it with a cheap white spray paint. Well ill soon change the look of the interior. Ive pretty much decided that ill be putting in my Mitsubishi GTO seats i have in the orange rolla. then from there will be going the same black grey theme with re apholstered rear seats and door trims. Havent really had much time in the last week because ive been putting an ecotec in my mates hilux. Ill definately be playing with the car this week with updates. But I'm definately going to do things right this time :D
  11. ahh nice i just bought a 2 door about a week ago and posted it up in here. gotta love em. oh and ye those grilles aint rare at all. but the car is definately rare. i was looking for my 2door for about 2 years.
  12. Decided to take out that horrid white dash that was in the car and put in a spare dash i had sitting around. The dash top has no cracks too which is an advantage
  13. Tomorrow ill figure out why the car doesnt start. The build up will be slower as i would like this car to be a keeper for a while. I will be focussing on the interior firstly. I have a few ideas which i would like to do but please share your thoughts and ideas.. Eventually i will do an engine conversion with something more engineerable than a V6. I'm thinking along the lines of 13bt or sr20. Another good reason for this purchase is because the car is a 74 model, its pre EPA so it will pass emission tests alot easier with engineering. You basically get away with a shit load more modifications.
  14. Well the cars home now and i only managed to give it a wash and autosol the bumpers today. Heres a few pix. It has the battery mounted in the boot, brand new carpet and brand new roof lining which i will have to fit better than what the previous owner did. enjoy
  15. Well ive been searching long and hard for a decent 2 door ke30 and i finally found one which i purchased off ebay today. Its a 1974 model been resprayed blue. Apparently an apprentice spraypainter owned the car before this bloke and this was the first car he'd sprayed. So the paint is average but will definately come up shiny with a light polish. I basically was looking for one that was pretty dint free and minimal to no rust or previous damage in the rear and doors as the front half of the panels are easier to find than the back. Anyway i found her and heres a pic that was on ebay. Ill post up more as soon as i get her home and keep ya all posted with all the build up. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...A:IT&ih=019
  16. ROLLLA

    Ke70

And ya have the same amount of room to work under the bay as ya do in the 300zx haha
  17. i clicked on this thread cos its got the same name as mine. and then i see a yellow corolla that looked exactly like mine when i first bought her. your not planning on spraying it orange by any chance are ya hehe
  18. haha ye I'm kinda a bit of a magyver when it comes to slapping shit together. youll see it all in my v6 conversion thread to see all the other manageries ive done
  19. i done this to my ke55 ages ago before the v6 went in. if you put the auto cross member on and then place the manual cross member directly behind it youll notice that the bolts go in and it sits exactly against the auto one. therefore all you have to do is weld the auto cross member next to the manual one and kinda reinforce it so they don't come apart. i reinforced mine by welding plates at the bottom across both. let me know how you go?
  20. cost was definately what got me doing it. I bought the whole VP for $150. and ye the power is pretty good, car handles pretty good. so ye if ya want bang for buck id say its the way to go. ecotech's are just too expensive and ive heard they don't handle boost as well if boost was an option in the future.
  21. Nah no updates yet. Still driving the car every day to work and stuff. Suprises me how reliable this thing is though. Saving up to get a proper exhaust put on soon as i still have the modified VP exhaust on. Its kinda funny with that exhaust cos it backfires loud as lol
  22. [email protected] lol cheers
  23. shit thats this friday, damn i wanted to get rid of the crappy VP exhaust and put a proper one on before. lol oh well, ill run it before and after i guess. So who is definately running their cars? And has anyone told toymods?
  24. so is this calder meet still happening and if so, when is it on?
  25. i thimk its an awesome idea.
