Ah I know this Pannel van well that will be used in the conversion. Will watch this with a keen eye. Great to see some one doing it properly with an engineer cert and all. Good luck with the build. Cameron

Ipswich is a classy town thanks..LOL

I went to a local tire shop think it was $1 per ring made in plastic had all different sizes and he could do them in aluminium also To work out size measure corolla hub then rim the 2 measurements are the size u need. Corollas are the 67mm internal diameter rings I think and the external well pends on the rim. Cameron

FLAT TOP 5K VERY NICE. And if u have a flat top 5K and flat top piston head u shouldnt need A12 push rods for solid lifter conversion????? Cameron
-
Hi, Read your other thread also this is a nother type of 5K heaps exist with radator cap on top of thermostat those housings are great for bigger radator setups that don't have the cap on the radator. Also I had a 4K-E once had hte sensor with wire in sump think I threw it out dare say it would tell ECU oil temp or something. Also Taz flat tops exist but the dished piston ones are WORLDS better  :y: BUT flat top 5K can use stock 4k push rods and normal 3F lifters solid conversion piss easy and parts are easy to get as same head as a 4k. Cheers Cameron

Some K motors came with factory oil cooler fitted (vans 5K and 7K) it is in the EPC for toyota. Also the weird pipes will be air injection that Taz talked about is a pollution thing. If you have that your 5K is 98% most likely a flat top 5K with solid lifters NICE FIND :bash: Cameron

Ke20 Brake Master Cylinders... Universal Products
camerondownunder88 replied to rollas22's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
^^^ Correct..Like flogging a old lady owned car never reved past 3000RPM then taking it straight to 8000 RPM...lol As I said above jsut get one recoed I can't highly speak enough of the quality of the job and yes I am yet to install it in the car but brakes stop me from hitting stuff I wanna know they work. I had all second hand gear to upgrade my KE15 but stopped though no I want new. I went and got rotors to wheel bearings to new brake lines. IT is worth it in the end. And if you get a second hand one id keep it on the shelf so you can get it resleved later and it can be a good spare. Cameron -
Hey yes as jip said I flashed lights and waved at goodna. Also John that TA24 (I think the convertable was 24 instead of 22) was GONE :y: I have a weird liking for that model. 2t-G no roof NICE :bash: Cameron

Will A Ke70 Survive A Trip Adelaide To Sydney?
camerondownunder88 replied to Tally's topic in Automotive Discussion
My KE30 I use for a daily has 500,000KM on the clock and travels 600KM a week min to and from work so a ke70 in average to good mech order will be fine. Just don't try to set any records..lol -
Wide ...low....slow With The Phat Rim Flavour
camerondownunder88 replied to mungi mods's topic in Rollaclub Rides
^^ I better see a fat KE sporting these tomorrow :) Also can you PM me the details of your powder coater and some details I have stuff I want done and know he will be local and easy for me to get to the one you use? Cheers Cameron -
^^ Totally agree how are some of you guys working out your figures. My KE30 has 531400 KM on the clock know the cars history since NEW. So that is genuine. Has original diff and 3K in it still never been rebuilt the motor. I have removed the accelerator pump from the carby and that is all and if I drive like a granny at 5am with cool air on way to work which is 50% city 50% highway drive record is 6.7L/100KM I drive MINIMUM 600km a week in my KE30. So I measure fuel usage every week to work out best time to get a tune etc. Average consumption is: 7.1L/100KM i just don't know how some of you guys get 10L/100 must be on and off and on and off the accelerator HEAPS and revving it hard. I do drive mine like that then some days steady. and with the 5 speed I sit smack on 3000RPM on 100km/h. Cheers Cameron

Advice For Stubborn Head Bolt
camerondownunder88 replied to Twitch's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Hi, Just use an impact driver if you have one. I find they remove any old bolt I can find on a rolla that has refused to move with a normal breaker bar. Few hits and it is lose. Cheers Cameron -
Hi, Only place I will even talk about is Scotts Rods in Ipswich at Yamanto mate. Had my KE15 done there WOW he did so much extra work outside of quote for FREE. adjusted my pacemaker extractors in the KE15 made me a flange on back to bolt on a straight through and muffler pack pending where I was track or road etc and more AWESOME hand work AWESOME service AWESOME cheap price done PERFECT to original spec mounts and everything can't fault it. Cheers Cameron P.S. He was half the price of every other muffler shop in ippy for my job I got whole car done so saved me heaps and I had muffler mart in ippy do my KE30 once never again SHIT

Hi, Was reading the FAQ article again my self and it says on the brake hose part attach the KE30 brake line from caliper to strut. Does this mean for a conversion we use KE10 top hose KE30 bottom hose? I am doing upgrade to KE55 brakes so do I again use KE10 top hose KE55 bottom hose? Cheers Cameron

Nice good save and cheap will look sweet on the road one day. Also any good factory stickers on it try to peel them off and scan them up into my sticker thread I am collecting them from Toyota's. I wanna get a few photo shopped and made like new again for my KE15. Cheers Cameron

Mystery 5k Motor With High(?) Compression
camerondownunder88 replied to emu's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Well my 5K was a complete mystery also was told it was fully rebuilt wich it was. That is all i know and head was shaved on mine to give it that CR. 4age pistons in a 5K will drop the pistons height about 5mm in the block I have looked into this and for a N/A motor would need the blocked decked to get a high CR so possibly has the block decked and head shaved mate. At first my 5K didn't start seemed like it was jamming and it was :lolcry: I snapped the cam shaft in mine so look at this I found it by I couldn't time the motor. Also to get it to crank I needed all new cable to starter and all new earth cables so check all power leads as will need a lot of electrons to make it crank with a high CR. Cheers Cameron -
Mystery 5k Motor With High(?) Compression
camerondownunder88 replied to emu's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
190 pfff LOW..LOL I run a conservative 200 PSI in each cyclinder in my 5K in the sprinter. I run a KE70 starter. 0.8KW is the KE70 one 0.6 is the 3K ones. from Early corollas. So use a KE70 starter will start easier. But mine starts fine on 200PSI Cheers Cameron -
The backing plates on the strut that hold the caliper have different stud patterns on KE55 and 70 while KE30 20 and 10 are the same shape BUT KE20 and 10 used smaller bolts if that makes sense. To run KE55 girlocks on a KE30 you need ke30 backing plates and the ke55 caliper and disc. As ke55 and onwards the backing plates had 3 studs kinda even the 1 was off set a heap. So can't run KE55/70 backing plates unless you redrill them. Cheers Cameron

Not to pedal my own wears but when I was looking into a turbo 5K setup for my self I invested in a fully rebuilt WRX turbo. I am now selling it if you serch my name in the for sale thread you will see it if you are interested and Taz has commented in that thread about the turbos suitability on a K motor also. Cheers Cameron

Hi, I am having trouble chasing a set of new flexible rubber hose for my KE15 sprinter and I was thinking KE20 brake lines might fit as there the same calipers so the rest of the hose should fit. But Just to see if it will better I am chasing the part number for KE2X brake lines for the front left and right lower hose and upper hose both parts of the flexible hose so caliper to strut strut to wheel arch where it then joins the solid line. Cheers Cameron

Then I take it 4K-C ones are right lenght but to weak? or are they to long? As I run 4k-C push rods in my dished piston motor  there is a small trick to doing it. Cameron
