  1. pedalbox, flywheel, clutch kit, clutch cable fix the reverse light, gearbox, crossmember etc etc. From memory i think i changed the tailshaft too, maybe someone else can confirm if the spline is the same. It's pretty much all bolt in, i did this 20 odd years ago with mine ( originally a 3k toyoglide too ) Just make sure when you are grinding out the shifter hole you cover the inside of the glass, i wrecked one of my windows :( Cheers Dale
  2. Ok, not much has happenned lately, been too busy with work. I have fixed the rear brake issue, was a gummed up drum lining that stuck to the drum and jammed. Wouldnt have thought that was enough to stop the car moving but it was. Brakes pulled apart and cleaned up enough to allow me to move it again. Will sort it out properly before it gets driven. Pulled the front trim apart and the scuttle vents off and gave them a sand , prime and paint in gunmetal grey metallic. looks a lot better than 20 year old flaking black paint. Inlet and exhaust manifolds are off but have worked out that the end of the extractors i have hit the back of the firewall. Will need to take it to an exhaust shop to get a small section cut off after the primary's join and the appropriate bend made up to clear the firewall, and then get that mated up to the existing exhaust. Seat is in and rail adapter plates made up for me by another Rollaclub member ( thanks Paul, much appreciated ). Hopefully get the induction and exhaust sorted out the the next couple of weeks so it runs again and also get the cage bolted in. Cheers Dale
  3. Hoping someone can help me here. The elec dizzy that i am running has two ports on the vac advance side. From memory this is where it used to be plugged in. Can someone please tell me how it really should be hooked up ?
  4. YOur efi manifold is a 4ke one , i used to have one. As for the ignition, as someone has said , get an electronic one with an external igniter. I am using a 4ke electronic dizzy which uses an external igniter ( my igniter was from a cressida as i put this in over 15 years ago, can't remember the year but it is the same toyota part as the 4ke one) Cheers Dale
  5. Thanks everyone, Yep, Doogs is right regarding the flares, I'm actually outside the guards at the moment front a rear. Front is out by about 15 mm and back about 10mm. I thought this was wiers as i am running 185/60 on front a 205/60 on rear. I expected the backs to hang out more if anything. I'll probably run a small spacer as well, will see how it comes up once they are fitted. Been busy with work lately, all i have done so far is pull out the taillights, grill , bonnet lip strip and the scuttle vents to start cleaning them up for a respray. Will pull the inlet / exhaust manifolds off this weekend if i have time. Tried to move the bloody car a few weeks ago and even though the handbrake is off and it's not in gear it wouldnt move. One rear wheel seems locked, assuming a jammed wheel cylinder or something along those lines. Hooked the winch on the 4wd up to it and dragged it a foot or so, but it still didnt break the hold. Need to look at that too, might be intresting trying to remove the drum :) Anyone got any ideas ??? Cheers Dale
  6. G'day Paul. Thanks for the encouragement. EA82 eh, i used to have a little white one. Fun little things, never liked the gearbox shift on them but the 4age was a revvy litte sucker :) Couldnt you just steal a ride in the Pulsar ?? Your car will be fantastic when finished, hey I liked it before you started. 2TG...mmmmm, one day maybe. Oh, if you ever feel inclined to make up another panhard rod setup and sell it, let me know :) That cage fits fine as a half cage, but the front hoops are not suitable for the 20, wrong angles in bends. Will look into getting something sorted out there later. I know being a Bond alloy one it wont ever be CAMS happy, but hey, i wont ever be competing in it at state level either so it's not a problem for me. Not in a club at the moment. Need to look into that and find one that suits. Actually , havent been in one for about 18 years come to think of it.....geez. am i that old.... :) I want to enter the occasional sprint, autocross, hillclimb etc. Nothing serious , just for fun. Also don't mind the occasional social type event or helping out with marshalling etc. Cheers, Dale
  7. Hi All, Time has come to finally begin the rebuild of our old Corolla. Has been in the family since the late 80's when it was my wife's first car. It went through a body rebuild and respray ( was originally mustard yellow )in around 1992 when she was hit by a drunk driver. Got a mechanical rebuild a couple of years later when the 3k and toyoglide finally gave up the ghost. Suspension was replaced then , diff rebuilt, brakes completely replaced front and rear, a jap import 5k built up with a mildly ported and decked head, balanced internals and a 32/36 weber bolted on, and the car converted to a manual gearbox. Was driven around like that and used as a weekend toy until i caught the Subaru bug and bought a Liberty RS turbo wagon. The little ke20 then went into the garage and rarely came out. The Subaru is long gone ( although my wife still has a Legacy GT ) , we now ahave a 6yo son and it's time for the ke20 to come out to play as a weekend toy and for my son to grow up with. While the basics are still there ( and it has been stored in a dry garage ) there is a bit of work to do. I habe been gathering parts for a while, and am now ready for the rebuild to start. The intention is to get it back to a roadworthy state first, get it registered ( probably just on club reg) , and then progressively fix all of the issues. It wont ever be overrated, but i'd like to have it as a strong , reliable little weekend toy and club car. Will update this a it progresses. I hope to have it on the road in about 2 months and finished by Christmas . This is her. And from the back Interior Rust think a new boot is in order ( this is the worst rust in the whole car thankfuly ) Already stickered :) Roll cage needs to be installed as well. rust in the bottom of front guards, will need to get repair patches and sills behind guards probably will need attention as well . Wont know until the guards come off. Te27 flares to go on. Will run a set of twin Aisin's and might change over the starter for the later model one . And a new dash top Its currently running a sprinter twin pipe exhaust manifold into a 1 3/4 ( i think ) exhaust with a straight through muffler at the end. Will change this over to a set of extractors Cheers, Dale
  8. My 73 model AMI had one. Was pulled off whhe i first resprayed it 20 years ago ( yep had it a long time :) ) Dale
  9. Thanks for the advice gents, will be having a go at this after new years. have a week off work and looking to get a few things done. Extractors and carbies fitted rear brake wheel cylinders replaced gutters sorted resealed and roof repainted flares fitted front spoiler fitted windscreen popped, new dash top fitted and a new screen and rubber put in. And anything else i can fit in to the time. Cheers Dale
  10. Hi Guys, I am starting to pull down my ke20 for a tidyup and was wondering how to remove the gutters trim. Would like t know if there is a special way to do this to avoid damaging them. Also, what have people used to reseal the gutters. I'm looking at removing the old sealant and running a wire brush along to clean them up. I have noticed a slight rusty stain in a couple of spots so want to hit it before it takes hold ( will use rust convertor as well if needed ). Cheers Dale
  11. Hi All, Ended up with a set of Hurricane Headers. Purchased from Best Muffler in Sydney for $235. $25 in freight saw them to me in melbourne in less than 24 hours. I found them on the web, but rang as directed on the site due to interstate shipping ( to confirm shipping price ) Fantastic service, they even rang me back with a shipping number so I could track the delivery if i wanted. http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=ke20&osCsid=4d8f0de005c7b67e296ecff675188d04 They are press bent, but with 1 3/8 primaries ( even allowing for some restriction in bends ) going into a 2 inch outlet I can't see it being much of a problem. Will fit them up this weekend. Cheers, Dale
  12. Nice work there paul. I like the panhard rod idea, might have to talk to you about it when the time comes with mine. Is the beast back on the road / track yet ???
  13. Coby seem to be an NZ brand. Are they available here ????
  14. Thanks Philbey, will have a look at them as well.
  15. Hi All, I'm about to buy some new extractors for a 5k i have in a ke20. Currently running the sprinter twin outlet cast header with what i think is about a 1.75 inch system with a straight through muffler. Weber's ( Thinking 40mm twins ) on their way possibly so it looks like exhaust time as my manifold ( from memory, it was a long time ago ) has the hole in the centre of it opening up onto the bottom of the inlet manifold. Mild 5k, can't remember cam grind ( it was 19 years ago after all ) , ports in head were opened up a bit, valves redone, engine had a balance / blueprint etc, nothing hardcore at all. Vehicle will just be a weekend toy, still not sure if i'll register it or just use it as a sprint / hillclimb / autokarna toy. So, what extractors do i buy ?? I was looking at Genie , but are there any others I should consider ( and why ) ??? Cheers, Dale
