  1. A good friend of mine, Chris Scott of TRD KE70 fame, made a sheet for me on some glass. Most of it got used in the Celica but I keep finding off cuts big enough to make these little bits of trim. Gloss black engine enamel. No primer needed and tough as nails. Detailing in a can.
  2. Have,nt got to them yet Justin. Iam in the process of making a mold for the bonnet and a couple of roof vents for a few friends. Bit more carbon fibre bling and door catches are on.
  3. I took to many photos at this point. Here are a few more.
  4. Ive built a few 3tgte,s for the rally car Chris. They are a tough but rare engine. But performance parts are still out there. The hardest bits to find are pistons as they are quite different from standard 2tg and 3t motors. I still have 2 3tgte motors here and a few parts. There is a 3tgte thread on toymods or Iam happy to answer any questions if I can help. An easier motor to work with would be a turboed 3s beams.
  5. Cheers Justin. Its getting close to the expensive bits. Engine, computer, wiring and all the little bits that add up.
  6. Nothing flash for color. Just plain old rally car white. Should look good when the signage and graphics are on.
  7. 110 bhp is a great result. Should be a very lively little car. Well done to you both, It looks fantastic.
  8. Don,t mind at all Rob. Last coat of primer is on.
  9. I agree they look a little odd at the moment. The plan is the rear panel will be black and when the boot lip and bumper are on they should,nt be so much "in your face". The good thing is they wont fill up with dust and the gravel roads can't shake any bulbs to bits. The rest of the body is being painted tomorrow.
  10. Thanks for the vote of confidence Reed. There are a lot of very good projects on Rollaclub. Fitting some led rear light clusters.
  11. Hi Cleveland. I like your idea for a racing rolla show. It would be awesome to get everyone together to check out these cars. Just looking at your dash. I remember making brass key plates like that but we used wood dowels. The wire brush is a great idea. Thanks for the compliment Stuart. Ill be waiting for your new project. Thanks Rob. Building or restoring cars is a lot of hard work and money, but also a lot of fun. Enjoy your self next year with Betsy. Got the left flare on and started prepping the bonnet for fibre glass.
  12. Thanks very much Stuart. Ill be looking for Project 25 with keen interest. Any hints. Possible rally TTE replica maybe? One rear flare fitted. Still some body work to finish and then it can be painted.
  13. Thanks Jake and Jesse. Ive been checking the v6 conversion. Rear flares and roof vent are out of the molds.
  14. New pulley made. Crank assembly ready to go to the balancer. Size difference between standard and modified.
  15. Making a lighter and under driven crank pulley. Ive removed the rubberised pulley and machined down the stub to take a water pump pulley.
  16. The steel Celica guards with a bolt on flare similar to these weighed 5kgs each. After I made them in 100% glass they were 2.5kgs each. I havent weighed the smaller Corolla guards yet, but you can see a 5kg total weight reduction just in the front guards. There will be approx a 2kg increase over the rear wheels with the rear flares, but thats not a bad thing in a rear wheel drive car. Ill let you know the weight when they come out of the molds.
  17. I know what you mean. I did the same type of thing for the Celica. The flares are off the front of a 85 MA61 Supra The wcr style roof vent and rear flares are in the molds.
  18. I can if you want a set Justin. They weigh in about half the weight of a steel panel with a flare bolted to it, but they will be twice the cost. Check out how it looks when both the rear flares and front guards are fitted.
  19. Thanks Snot. It could be the first ke30 wrc car. lol. Molds are ready to make some light weight fibre glass race panels.
  20. Fibre glass molds going on.
  21. Thanks Steve. Yep, first round of the rallymaster 2014 is the plan with hopefully a shake down event before then to iron out any bugs. Front guards ready for fibreglass.
  22. Making plugs for the fibre glass flares and front guards.
  23. Making a new alloy dash.
  24. Hydro hand brake is fitted 100mm back from standard.
  25. I remember one transport "engineer" telling me any mods had to be in 6mm plate. I did ask, but he could'nt tell me why a piece of 6mm welded to some 1mm sheet metal body work would be less likely rip out than a piece of 3mm. Seats are in for the moment.
