  1. This one is all about being as close as poss to a real one. Wont race this one. Its for show and will be for sale. The old one was displayed by the Australian Rally Museum at Rally Q a few years ago. Might see if they want to put it in their display at Coffs when its done. Strip down has started.
  2. Thanks, will let you know how we go next weekend. Just got the entry list for the last round of the QRC. 43 cars. Thats damn good for up here. Ill see If I can get the incar fitted before Friday.
  3. DONE AND DUSTED. Thanks everyone for your kind comments and support. This build is finished, time to have some fun.
  4. Thanks Justin and Rob. Spot lights are fitted. This will be the first rally with night stages Ive been to for a few years. The 30 is booked in for the signage tomorrow. Also got the sump guard fitted and finished.
  5. Just picked up the new project car. Its not a Corolla this time, but its still a Toyota.
  6. Dash Stickers done. Iam just in hurry up mode Rob. The end of this build is so close.
  7. Almost. It seems like an uphill struggle to get anyone to do there job. 2/3 weeks to get the cams refinished, another 10 days to get some shims. Its now been over a week just to get some stickers made for the dash. Its getting there slowly, should be running again today and totally finished next week. Ill get some final photos up next week and close the thread. First rally on the 22nd at Imbil. Ill let you know how we go.
  8. Hey Stephen. Still a few teething problems with the new cams and buckets. Ive sent them to Dean Tighe to check out and should have them back in a few weeks. Then it goes to get its graphics and its done. Ill get some final photos up by the end of the month.
  9. Well at least your not wasting your time and money on things like going out on Friday and Saturday nights, getting drunk, picking up girls, taking drugs, going to a rock concert, riding a dirt bike and camping for the weekend, taking a holiday, tripping around the world, base jumping or skydiving. Nothing beats spending your weekends welding rust.LOL :hammer:
  10. Looks like your going to be busy for the next 10 years. The 30 is looking good.
  11. Thanks. The Rolla was really good straight off the trailer. No leaks and It didnt miss a beat all day. After bedding in some new brakes and suspension adjustment, it was putting in some great times. It has one more test/setup day at Hirstglen early next month where I would like to see if wider tyres might help or not. Then its first real rally at the end of November. Its getting a new windscreen this week to replace the very scrachted old one and then all the signage goes on. Ill post some final photos when Its done.
  12. Thanks for the photos Chris. It sings at 7000rpm very nicely. errrrrrrr, that cone must have blown over with the wind. It was a windy day.
  13. Sounds like our Gallangowan Rally of old. A real car breaker.
  14. Thanks everyone. Final weigh in with 30lt of fuel in the tank and every thing bolted on for rally trim. A couple of photos of the "Day at the races". Action photos to follow soon. I did get a dyno result, but I seem to have lost it. :lock:
  15. Thanks Snot And Justin. Yep, The car survived the dyno. Got it back yesterday morning and spent the rest of the day getting it ready and loaded on the trailer. Ill get some photos today. Looking forward to its first drive in anger.
  16. Got the head back and fitted today. Booked in at the dyno for tomorrow Cutting it close, but back on track for its first event this weekend.
  17. If you squint really hard it kind of looks the same. :jamie: After making our tuna, cheese, vegemite and onion sandwich rally super food, she might not want to get back in. LOL
  18. Made a foot brace for the Nav.
  19. Hey Justin, Almost. The special 8mm shims should be here this week from the US of America. Then the head can go back together and refitted. Hope to have the dyno numbers by the end of next week. Only 2 and a bit weeks till its first event at Hirstglen.
  20. They come as part of the performance valve train kit from LC Engineering.
  21. Picked up the head today.Ill work out the new shin sizes this week end and order them on Monday. The new buckets are 3mm bigger than standard and you can see the amount of alloy removed to clear the big cam lobes.
  22. Ive locked up a F series Celica/Supra centre for this one. The standard Supra LSD does'nt work very well. Ive also used a Torson/True Track before, its ok but still not ideal for gravel rallies.
  23. Couple of pics of the finished inside. The head is at PLR in Brisbane this week getting machined to take the over size cam buckets.
  24. Damn. When you want one, you can't find any and when your not looking there everywear. lol.
