welcome mate, be good to see pics of your KE25!!!
-
Hey guys Ive had a nightmare time trying to find some cir-clips for my 1974 KE25 Corolla. Now can someone please tell me what type circlip a KE70 has and the size it is. My balljoint is a BJ113 which takes a 37mm cirlip. KE70 is BJ114.... Also the stock cir-clip that came off my KE25 was a spring type, not the C type, but sure either one could work well. If anyone has a pic of could take a pic for me that would be great!!!! Cheers Tally

wow thanks for the kind comments guys! Appreciate it heaps. It is a major milestone for me, its the first car I bought (been through a few since then) and ive nearly had it 3 years and its the first time its actually looking good haha :) Yea hangin hard to put it back together. Actually started but stopped as I realized its going to take me forever to clean up all my nuts and bolts, so I'm taking it all to get professionally cleaned and anodized. can't ruin a quality job with greasy bolts.... Yea its a great shine, my dads got a few tricks up his sleeve, used to paint cars for a living, back in the early days. Paint is just Acylic. Paint quality turned out say 98% killer, got a few runs which we have rubbed out and repainted and couple of tiny specks of dust on the roof. Man we cleaned that shed top to bottom, took us all day to clean it. Tonight got the bootlid painted, came up sweet, still got boot, bonnet, and doors to go. Cheers Tally

1 part to 1 and a half for the body, added bit more thinners in the engine bay. Not even buffed yet and looks great!

Mate looks like your doing an excellent job mate. I'm sure some guys could give you a few pointers. good on ya for giving it a go

man I'm in Adelaide and see a shitload of ta22's, just go for a drive, and you will no doubt bump into one. So I don't think you will have trouble finding one, always a couple on eBay and watch tradingpost and carsguide. Parts not that hard to find as well, KE70, yes a lot easier to find, yes parts easier to find, 4age, ae86 parts fit blah blah blah but doesn't have the appeal and sharp look a Celica has. depends on what you want to do with the car at the end of the day... my 2cents

got off my ass and went and took some pics lol what you think guys? I'm over the moon.

Thanks man, will do. And for an update, body is painted and looks wild!!!!! Spent all night tonight wax and grease removing it and hit it with 4 coats of paint. Also got guards painted. Still got to paint doors, bonnet, boot lid and apron. Will be done soon enough though. Going to lay another full coat on the body 2moro night, will get pics up 2moro, got late and so smashed, need a coffee.

and we have paint!!! well in the engine bay, but its a start! Colour is 1971 Mazda 1300 Swan White, has a slight blue tinge in it, looks nice az. Only layed two coats to start with, going to lay a third thick, glossy coat 2moro for that extra shine. If everything goes to plan whole car should be done by end of the week. now I need some cir-clips for my ball joints before I bolt my front end in soon, anyone know where to get them? Cheers Tally

Looks sweet man, thought about changing the grill to the up-spec one? I think they are from a ST or GT, look a lot nicer. Will look sweet with the fender mirrors...
-
Looks great man, really like what you've done with it, new engine and engine bay looks sweet!

Pulled the engine out from the side of the house, 4K from a '83 KE70 Corolla. Going to clean it up a bit, seems to be in good condition. Going for clean look, nothing shiney just going to do some wrinkle-coat on the rocker cover for some coolness. Plans are: 3K water-pump - So my factory heater hose can fit. Will I have any issues as I think the internal water-pump fan is smaller then a 4K one. 3K thermostat housing New fuel pump 5K electronic dizzy with Bosch GT40 - Thanks to Ryan SLO-030, shouldn't be hard to connect up Basic service New clutch with machined flywheel Try find some extractors - Have access to a 2.5" under diff stainless exhaust to suit an E7# but wondering if I could adapt it to fit Stock carbie - Emissions all ripped off and blocked. I'm contemplating later on to either turbo it for a bit of boost, or try and make it a revy little thing... should save for engine conversion though LOL

That's a mate of mine, savannagt, he's been importing early Mazda parts for years, not too long ago I told him to get into importing Corolla stuff :bash: Price-wise, I think its reasonable, would cost a few dollars to convert a KE25 to TE27 specs though. Some members on here could admit to that lol. overrated Tacho clusters go for around ~ $500 and overrated center guage clusters go for around ~ $300, depending on condition of course.

Does anyone know what the biggest tyre you can fit under a KE20 and KE25. Apparently you can run a bigger tyre on a KE20 then a KE25.....
-
Nah your right, just love the red and white theme, we will see how I go, I personally don't think it would look to bad. Staying brown for now so close enough to black so still will look sweet. :( Interior will be staying completely stock.

Update tonight while was at work, dad got the rear quarters, guards, bonnet and passenger door in third coat of hi-fill primer. Will get pics 2moro. Really getting close to painting it soon, just need to primer drivers door, doesn't need fixing as its straight az. My aim is to get it looking something like this :(

Both are great engines and I'm also trying to decide which to go 4age or rotor :( Great work so far man ur ke30 is cool :)

I hope your doing the body work urself ryan, ive been doing mine, my dads been taking me through it and it isnt as hard as people say once you get the hang of the basics :) You know how it works, you push urself to do some work on it and then you get pumped with motivation and get ideas of how its gonna look while you work :(

clean little rolla asif, anyone know what type diff it has? doesn't look standard ke30 item?

Ok so got back from Melbourne and got stuck back into blocking the car. Finished off engine bay, r/h door frame and 1/4 window, rear beaver panel and front and rear windscreen frames. So this is how its sitting at the moment. Going to take my time going over it very carefully to find any imperfections. Should be sweet. Colour I'm going is white, with red interior later on.

asif is a real name if there is any confusion. pronounced with an 's' not a 'z'.
