Thanks, Thats funny. I have the same pic, and I am thinking of toyota super white paint. or possibly black. Either combo will be with lime green subtle accents. I still don't have my seats in. I just have the driver seat in the front, so my girl has to sit in the back.

not sure why no one has posted here. From my own issues I am dealing with my car, Id recommend checking to make sure everything is legal. If you have emissions, ensure it is all there. You already know to look for rust. I am not sure about the engine due to mine being a 2tc. lastly the transmission, if you want a standard, Just buy a standard up front and save conversions. I kinda wish I did, but the project aspect is always fun. GL with your car searching.

Turbo is off a volvo 4 cyl. gas wagon from the 90's. its a garrett. As for the sludge, I will use some seafoam additive and dump all the crud out the bottom.

YES! I have finally undone all the crap the PO messed up on my car. I got the timing in order, distributor set, carb set, and I did a lot of general maintenance so it now idles correctly. I have learned a lot about these 2tc engines from this car. Now if I can pass CA emissions I can start modding / upgrading the car to my liking. Hear this baby purr:

Picked up some goodies for the car today. I got a running 2tc engine with everything on it, a working T50 transmission will all clutch pieces in between (too lazy to split it), and a S374 coded third member so 3.583 ratio. This will make my car a freeway flyer. The parts yard I got the engine and trans from charges for hoist rental. They charge a $20 deposit, then they charge $5 per 30 min. You better believe I pulled that engine and trans in under 30 mins LOL! The lady was like "what you don't need it" then she noticed that I was done, so hoist only cost me $5. :rocknroll: Pics: Running 2tc soon to be rebuilt on stand. T-Fiddy And my freeway flyer gearing: This setup would give me... well just look at the graph: 3300RPM at 75MPH would be nice. Will my poor stock 2tc be able to pull these gears until i get the 3tc internals? I am quite curious. But if I just change the rear ratio my A40 automatic will be pulling 3800RPM in its final gear where as it's doing 4500RPM now (S292 4.10). I could look into getting a S314 ratio and having a 3.909 ratio, but I kinda like the freeway flyer route. Let me know what you guys think. Has anybody ran this setup?

I have finished the front of my engine. Everything went well except for the bolt that adjusts the alternator; It decided to shear off for me. :devil: I am digging the new paint and I hope to get to the entire engine. I started the car but my main belt is screaming so i only ran it for a few seconds. I can't wait to start driving this thing when its properly tuned. Next comes... Paint? Wheels? Suspension? 5 Speed? Turbo? Sterio? only time will tell. Pics:

Right now my thoughts are a under cover 3tc in a 2tc case (gotta pass cali smog). I may put some minor things inside like dual valve springs, stronger pushrods, and maybe some other OEM toyota pistons. Then I can throw said turbo on it: I think an EFI system would make it run quite well, but I have no idea how to do the electrical. would be fun. Would a average run of the mill toyota 1.6-2.0 stock efi system work without pricy aftermarket stuff? I can fab any manifolds etc.

I'm reconditioning the second one now. I plan to sell it to get more rolla stuff. Not sure how much shipping would be on something like that though.
