Sorry guys especially to redwarf, I totally agree mate,, but maybe its just a personal thing liking the celica over the lancer well i have owned 3 so am a bit biased, they never broke down and basically handled as good as my mates subura so yeah thats y i rate them so high i have read alot and all the information has put the celica in with some of the classic cars of this century they really are a trend setter they make the 900kg car in a new catergory!!! however never raced them have no idea just heard great things!! :y: :y:

I agree with old mate "ancullen" everything he has said is true but.... Its like in Australia we don't have the population overhaul where we can't move in traffic and are sitting idle for hours on end.. however in Europe in England for example this combination of the supercharger and the turbo will make an absolute killing its what they have always needed and wanted! Its been in demand in Europe. The thing is that the 4AGZE was propably purposely built for racing and made for mainly performance however this is engine is made for not only the performance but economy and reliablity! For every rich chick of bloke in Europe will want one of these its fast enough to scare them and efficent enough to get them round town safetly great design and mix of engine ability!!!!! :y: :y:

7shades none of us have yet said its RWD and thats its going to be exceptionally fast all that the point in case is in a very very suburban city it would be wise to purchase one of these which already it has been a huge hit in europe!

It won't just be them producing these engines in different capacities. I think the idea of using a supercharger and a turbocharger have been around for a while its just that VW put it into action and have definately suceeded!! :jamie:

YeaH saw that on the fifth gear TV show. In England that are already being produced and got a rave review. They are going to be very popular and apparently since its been a sucess they will be copied by alot of other car manufactors in the future they were saying. Great idea!

The toyota 2000GT came out like came out 4 years before the first 240z was made by nissan i was reading that nissan copied the design of the 2000GT and make improvements and they certainly did the nissan 240z is still well designed to look as good as most sports cars!

i don't think so y are there more celicas which are famous for the handling abilty also the celica comes with a 5 speed box and the lancer has only a 4 speed box! They look better they handle better i don't think that lancer could take the TA22 1973 TOYOTA CELICA TA22 LT 1.6 litre celica in a drag if u had a vote i think that the celica would be more popular because face it looks better and is overall a better car but of course it is its a TOYOTA!
