  1. The problems (At least they look pretty now)- Heading down to the fasteners joint on Monday to try my luck - I doubt they will have something with a sleeve or something on it though. With a little luck I'll be able to retrofit some shit.
  2. The car is now a couple of washers and bolts away from being a whole bunch of fun.
  3. Alright - I grabbed some tops thanks to a nice bloke off Facebook. Shout out to that guy! I had them lathed out to fit the strut at Mark Barnes Engineering in southport - easy work, but I'm happy with the work they did. Zero stuffing around. Now the only problems I have left is spacing the spring hat from the camber top as I think they will foul as soon as I add any negative camber to the strut. I'm also in need of a specific bolt with a sleeve (Nice normal coilover shock bolts) as the standard shock bolts are crazy wide. TL;DR - Need to figure out how to space c/tops from upper hats - some perfect size washers should suffice Also need to figure out where to get bolts for c/tops and shocks - ones with sleeves similar to lug nuts/normal c/top bolts. I'll upload some photos tomorrow to better show the problems.
  4. My Corolla will be on stands for a while - won't make it. *enters depression*
  5. Sweet - I have a quick fix that might work but t3 will be my next step. Duly noted, I'll get mum to keep an eye out for work.
  6. Tempted to just buy some T3 hats and tops...
  7. So when the camber angle is increased they fouled on eachother? Yeah - my tops don't sit snug at all, although I don't know what normal is to be honest!
  8. The spring hats are a ball bearing kind so I don't think there is enough room to play with without hacking into the bearing - I'm going to head back out to measure it all up anyway though. Pack in for the day for the moment. Correct though - the shock fits the c/tops just fine. If I can't find some hats that will work in the next day or two I will be exploring the machining path! Thanks mate :y:
  9. Ordering some now, hoping I can sort something out before they land though - don't want the car sitting on stands for so long! Corect Dave, the shock pin is almost double the diameter. I'll give that a look - cheers mate. Although I'll probably end up getting decent digital Kingchrome ones or something, over all my tools breaking.
  10. They're damn expensive! They're on the list none the less though, would come in very handy.
  11. Someone educated me - in need of new tops.
  12. I'm currently assembling my coilovers for the last time. I am running KYB AGX inserts and have also purchased some BC spring hats and camber tops - the sleeve in the spring top isn't big enough to fit it on to the thread on the shock. Has anyone run in to this problem before? Can I have it machined to fit? What spring hats/camber tops are compatible? EDIT: Looks like t3 spring hats might work?
  13. I might be able to scramble together and have my car ready! What's the deal with booking/license paperwork etc?
  14. What he said ^^^^^^ It has turned in to a bit of a necessity for me Corolla wise, as I don't have a decent wrecker near me.
  15. That's US dollars postage not included mate, worked out to $230 odd AUD delivered... lol. I can't be mad though - I got it for free. Admittedly, it's a terrifically made product. They definitely haven't skimped on the materials or design. I might buy one of those to have a play with if they're that cheap! I would love to get some input from someone running a TRD shifter.
  16. Interesting - happen to know the reduction in throw etc? Where'd you buy it?
  17. Hey dudes. I recently installed a T3 short shifter in to the Rolla for mad shiftz. Although, I completely blanked that there was going to be a difference between a LHD and RHD shifter, so my shifter is ever so slightly angled to the left. It's definitely usable and unless I find something incredible, it will stay. I've read that there is three popular options for short shifters in this application - TRD, cheap eBay crap and T3. All having different pros and cons. Just looking to see what you guys run and what you do and don't like about them. :y:
  18. A seemingly large percentage of the corolla/toyota enthusiast community on Facebook (or even people in general). I'm sick of people treating others like dirt for a like on Facebook I'm sick of not being able to trust people I'm sick of the 'drift kids' that think they're shit don't stank I'm sick of generally loud mouthed ʞ©$ɟs.
  19. Annnnnnnnd, I'm jealous.
  20. Yeah they are, with the ball bearing type spring hats. I bought them off a private seller - To my knowledge you can buy them separately to the coilovers though. There are a few websites online that I have seen selling S13/180 tops by themselves anyway. Expensive gear though!
  21. New stuff! Coilovers will be coming out for the last time to be painted and put together for the final time. I've decided to go with RE001's all round for grip, so that should be happening this week!
  22. Definitely some potential for a nice car here dude. Keep it up!
  23. You wouldn't believe how long I had to look for a decent explanation for them... The 'Crush flat' function of the spring was completely left out in most articles - that's why I was confused with the spring rates. So I believe helper springs is just to hold the spring captive (Crush flat) and Tender springs is to create a progressive spring rate (Stay coiled with a firm rate). At least that's what I've got from it. Thank you for the explanation regardless. Had be stumped for a little while for something so basic.
  24. She's been in the wars the last few days. Popped a tyre a week before planning to replace all rubber and alignment! Annoying. Rear wheel cylinder let go, replaced that today - I now know how drum brakes work. I bought some helper springs to bang in to the coilovers which will get me piece of mind! I just want to get the ride dialled so I can enjoy it! TL;DR Helper springs and camber tops purchased.
