  1. running a 4AG in my car, so i was recommended to get the Red coolant... worth going back to green still? any other parts that the red coolant would damage?
  2. i have a ke35 hardtop with a leaking interior heater unit... lots a bunch of the nice toyota red coolant all over my fresh interior carpet  :( anyways, just wondering if anyone has experience with these, and if its a typical thing? will the assembly from any other models (ke1x, ke2x, ke5x, ke70) will fit in my car? is it the complete unit that usually causes the problem, or just a busted radiator part? sorry for noob question.. couldn't find anything in the compatibility section.. its winter, and i'm keen to get this all sorted out ASAP )i do a lot of EARLY morning car trips, and i'm not keen on frostbite)
  3. will ae86 or ae71 struts fit into a ke3x? what mods would need to be done to make this work?
  4. my old 4k with ke70 5spd was getting about 7.5 l/100km in the city, and down to 6l/100km on the highway i was pretty impressed... had the head decked, valve clearances done, head gasket, everything freshened up etc, so that might have been helping me out. but i did trash the poor little bastard, and it still got those economy figures no matter how i drove it
  5. reasons 1, 4, 6 and 8 are pretty much the same reason... so you're down to 5 reasons just wondering if stroking an engine is going to achieve the 2L capacity? is it possible to stroke a 4A motor that much? i'm no expert, but is stroking a motor going to reduce the quick, responsive rev capabilities of the 4A somewhat? good luck mate... look forward to hearing more
  6. LOL suck that xE7x lovers
  7. i managed to track down an early ke3x one at a wrecker yesterday... hopefully this will work out for me any idea what the diameter of the piston is on these master cylinders?
  8. how different are ae71 & ae86 struts? there should be a few ae71 struts at wreckers around the place
  9. yeah i'm pretty sure mine is identical to ke55
  10. not sure about celica... anyone? another option: does anyone have any idea of the compatibility of ke1x, ke2x or xe7x boosters with the booster mounting holes in the ke3x firewall?
  11. great info guys. thanks i'll be heading to a wrecker to test out some of those options in the next couple of days
  12. redwarf: is that the early ke3x booster & master? if it is, i think that would work with my setup you don't happen to have any spares sitting around do you?
  13. Redwarf: yeah the VERY big VERY ugly PBR thing... Greenmac: I'll go to the wrecker asap :P thanks mate
  14. thanks mate just checking though, my stock booster has a diagonal bolt arrangement... the pajero MC's that i've seen have a horizontal bolt arrangement, that from what i've heard fits onto the EARLY ke3x booster. can you clear up for me whether the pajero MC you're talking about has horizontal or diagonal bolt? banjo fitting is another thing i've been thinking about... good to know that the telstar has them. looks like i'll be making a trip to the wreckers. how narrow are the banjo fittings, cos i've only got a 10mm gap when the inlet & MC are installed
  15. i've just finished a 4AG conversion into my ke35... doing some testing over the last few days, i've sheared my rear brake line twice. when the engine revs it rocks to the drivers side of the car and the rear of the inlet manifold just touches the rear brake line right where it exits the master cylinder. just wondering if anyone has had this problem too, and how they fixed it I'm currently trying to find if there is an alternate master cylinder that bolts onto the later model ke3x brake booster, but is narrower (giving me more clearance between brake line and inlet manifold) or has downward facing brake line outlets.
  16. its running :bash: taking it to the exhaust shop tomorrow
  17. firing it up for the first time in the morning. hopefully it all works. if it does, all i need to do now is get the exhaust done, and its good to go!!! a little bit of tidying up of wiring won't go astray, but thats kind of secondary to getting it driving at the moment
  18. impressive did you build it yourself? any specs/info?
  19. jobs still to do on conversion: 1. Wiring 2. Clutch lines 3. Exhaust 4. Finalising the Inlet 5. Testing that all of it works :P Hoping for Sunday/Monday finish
  20. fingers crossed.... project should be complete by the end of this weekend. if so i'm hoping to be there
  21. sounds good!!! all going well the car should be running this weekend :P if so i should have all the bugs out of its system in time to make it to the cruise BUT just got engaged, so i'll have to convince the missus that its a good idea
  22. good to meet you Jacob hope the parts help your project mate
  23. KE30-35-55... thanks - i'll check it out on mine KE Ping It Real... i need to be on that cruise Roo... i'll get a spare, and depending on how it goes, i might have to start looking into other gearbox options (W series maybe???)
