  1. I'm always skeptical on who i take my car to, for the work i cannot do myself. I am new to the old school " k motors " and would like some directions on someone or business who are recognized or specialize in working on Carby motors. Please refrain from the " all mechanics can do it " yes i know they probably can, but there are people who know engines better than others. Thanks.
  2. Thats what i'm after! Thats awesome, nice thread btw :), blah holy shit better get to bed before easter bunny comes lolol.
  3. Redline make extractors or did, or might get some custom made up. So extractors > reso > stainless steel into a stainless steal muffler 1 3/4 inch all the way through sound alright? I do like the twin muffler pig pipes, blah its hard going for sound over looks lol. Right, as for the other stuff, so maybe a 275 cam grind? As for the the carbys, what would be the cheaper option? @ altezzaclub thanks for helping me with this and also the others. gt40 coil upgrade a decent mod? 10;1 compression fine?
  4. What do you mean by jettered? What sort of cam size/brand? Yeah might get a mid muffler to a straight pipe we'll see.
  5. So what i'm thinking; Electric dizzy Hi power coils /w irrudim plugs ( still not sure if it will make a change due to being old motor? ) upgrading the coil to any recommended brands? 3k double row timing chain Aftermarket pistons ( 4ks don't seem to hold that well ) Polish the rocker 32/36 webber ( heard both negative and positive so any feedback? ) pacemaker extractors /w 2inch stainless steel straight through to drift pipe excedy HD clutch lighten the flywheel cam grind 260 deg lifters faced 10;1 comp to suit bp 98, worth it? I'm just going off what I;ve read that would have some benefit to my 4k, so feedback please and any help would be awesome, i'm learning about these engines, used to SR20's and RBs. I read about balancing the rotating gear, i'm not going to spend all day above 7k, the only time i'tll be up there is wet track days when i can actually slide, apart from that i just want it to be a " phat lumpy idled ke70 " Thanks.
  6. You decided on what wheels you getting? I'm getting some Work meisters 15x8 + 20 all round and running G-tek adj spacers as i'll need about 5-10mm to clear. The rotas look baws, That KE70 inspired me but i was at Transport the other day and this piggy Ke70 with choppies came in with Work Meisters and won my heart haha.
  7. I just want that lumpy idle, and maybe when its raiding @ Archy i can go a slide haha. I found this = http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Tech:Engine/K_Series/How_to_build_a_tough_K_motor I'll spend tomorrow reading it and going from there, thanks for the info though. I'll prob spend up to 2k on the Ke70, but putting aside some work mesiters 15x8 + 20 with some G-tek adj spacers and roll and pump the guards for the stance.
  8. Electric dizzy to?
  9. Oh right, yeah i read through that topic, well skimmed thats some awesome work. What sort of cabby work? Was going to get the flywheel done, maybe do the front conversion with LCA etc worth it? I won't be doing any major work, I just need this to get by for 1 year and going from a modded SR20DE to a 4k will be a lot different haha. As for the exhuast, why so? I figured anything about 2'' would be to big for the 1300cc motor. Thanks.
  10. Just after a bit of power, and no nothing about these carby motors. I'll be getting a 2inch system with a single pig pipe, r31 diff, pacemaker extractors. Is there anything else? Any help or links would be greatful. Thank you! EDIT: Before you say just engine conversion, can't on P plates. This car is designed for stance and some power if i can get any lol.
  11. I barely know near to nothing about KE70s, but from the little things I've read. I could be getting a KE70, already converted to a 4AGE 16v which is what i wanted, But i'm wondering what is the cheapest and legal way to get more lock and strength the diff. I've read you can put the R31 diffs into the KE70s but you needa shorten the shaft etc? As for more lock, S13 front conversion is the way to go, lower control arms etc? I'm happy with the t50 gearbox, I've also got some AE86 coilovers up front but am just thinking some pedders springs in the rear will do just fine? Cheers, any info or link to threads would be awesome.
