Installing My New Quad Lights To My Ke70.
SternBlend replied to SternBlend's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Cheers guys, will weld a rad support in, drill bash and bolt shit up. I was worried that I might need to cut some of the front out. Which would be very hard with limited tools. It's like rebuilding a car and all I have to use is a stick and stone but it's slowly coming together. -
Installing My New Quad Lights To My Ke70.

yes it's a slant front but I have done a flat front conversion and these suckers are going on 1 way or another. -
Just want some info on how to install my quad lights to my ke70. Never done it and I'm learning as I go, really would like to get it right first time.

Great Thread mate can't wait to see the final product, keep it up. Did you have to do anything special to install the quad lights? Just got mine but they won't touch the car for probably at least another 6 months. Was wondering how easy/hard they are to install.

How much would I be looking at to buy a drivers side mirror for a 84 ke70?
-
couldn't see any reason why the doors wouldn't fit. Thanks for the pics, that looks alright, cheaper option 2. Thanks all for your help.

Thanks b.l.z.bub, pics would be great.

Would like to change my side mirrors to chromes. Do i need to get doors off an older model? I would like to get rid off the plastic triangular bit in the corner.

Doing flat front conversion. Have all parts just sanding and painting at the moment. Have flat front radiator support also. Just got lights and wasn't sure exactly how they fit.

New quad lights from Megat (thanks again) for $320, little cleaning up and they'll look good as new.

Received my quad lights from Megat (cheers again) and would like to check what is required to install them. Won't be for a few months yet but would like to get prepared. I know that the wiring will need to be adjusted for the headlights and indicators, saw that in the FAQ but what about the hole for the lights?

She's not real heavy but still a bit of a workout. Maybe i'll just focus on improving her ride seeing as I have quite a few hairpins on my route home. I will start with tyres and change the caster but would like steering to be more reactive. What else should i do to improve handling? She is stock as can be.

What doe's it involve to chuck power steering in the ke70's. I live 40mins out of town and by the time i get home i feel i have had a workout so would like to make life easier for myself. Going to recon the 4-k engine shortly so if i can put PS in whilst engine is out i will do just that.

Removed the doors and finished painting the front end properly. Even painted under the scuttle panel, over kill I know but had paint left and thought what the hell wouldn't hurt it. Nose looks a lot better when tape removed. After stalling for two wks I finally had a go at taking off the chrome strips and had some success. Removed the bottom window strip which is relatively easy and the drivers side top one. The later took some patience (hr) but came off without any bends but I can see why they will never go back on as tight as they were =) . Second one half hr, almost a pro now. Used a butter knife, once I got a little up I stuck the knife through and wiggled back and forth slowly which slowly lifted top and bottom off. When it wouldn't go any further I used a hole punch tool just to crack the bottom lip of the chrome a little then continued with the knife. Plans have changed a little, the roof lining is perfect in the old girl and is light blue so instead of using grey with the black on the door skins it will be blue. Dash is going to be painted black because I picked up a crack free brown one which just won't match anything. I was going to keep the blue in the dash but might all have to be painted black. Black floors, supra chairs and dash. Blue plastics, roof lining and maybe original blue rear seat if it comes up looking good.

Things will move pretty quickly while I prep car for painting. Then things will come to a halt because then money will be needed. Will need to get grill and light set up, chrome bumpers, seats etc. Once painting is done then I will do what I can to re con engine with minimal money.

OK for almost stalling for two wks I finally had a go and had some success. Removed the bottom window strip which is relatively easy and the drivers side top one. Awesome definitely want to see some pics. Would like to put the 16valve in mine but that's a long way down the track.

Just though i'd let you know i photo shopped your old girl in Sterns project. Nearly everything that i have planned for my car you had already done so i wanted to see what my car would look like. If you have any problems with this let me know. Cheers for giving me an insight into my project.
