  1. Old 4AFE had the cold start injector, new 4AFE (and hence the 7AFE) didn't
  2. 7As don't have cold start injectors. That sensor on the water outlet is the coolant temperature sensor.
  3. If you jack up with a trolley jack, place the pad on the crossmember in the middle of the car, underneath the engine. If you're jacking up with scissor jacks at the side of the car, there are notches in the sills just behind the front wheel. Place the jack in-between the slits. Chassis stands go in the same place (if they have a slotted head to take the sill), or slightly inboard on to the channels if they have a flat/shallow head.
  4. The radios in the Coaltram workshop are currently playing Come On Eileen.....
  5. AE101 Levin seats look pretty good and are relatively easy to get your hands on (if you live in a major city)
  6. I do, on the sedans at least. Not a fan of any coupe tailights. Late KE55 grilles + lights are better than early 55 too, the huge chrome monobrow is just pure ugly.
  7. Either it's the perspective, or the seats themselves, but it looks like two Michelin Men are sitting in the front of the car instead of seats :D No doubt they are comfy, but seem a bit.....I dunno, pillowy, puffy.
  8. Build plate? Rear end (diff/brakes)? Tail-lights? Hell, dash would be a pretty good giveaway too. Take plenty of photos and post them up, should easily be able to tell.
  9. Perfect for this situation, espeially with the volume cranked....
  10. Hardly "new" (been out for a good year or two at least), but it is decent, certainly worthwhile trying especially if you like Coronas etc. Better than the average US beer, for sure. And why wouldn't you drink a 6-pack in one sitting? It's not overly strong, and heaps easy to drink, which makes it an excellent session beer (unless you start to get put off by the lemon/lime taste after the 3rd one or so)
  11. Agreed. My standard is Tooheys Old as a minimum, or something like Lowenbrau if I want a lager. Often experiment with Belgian ales too, Chimay and La Trappe especially (I know La Trappe is Dutch, but it's Belgian Trappist-style). English brown ales for the win too (Newkie Brown = awesome, I'm hankering for one right now)
  12. You are the first, and I wouldn't be surprised if you're the last, person I have ever met who has rated Carlton Cold so high.....rated at all, in fact.
  13. Up here, a lot of mechanics/dealerships etc have waste oil disposal, and on top of that every 12 months the council has a household chemical collection service, which can take used engine oil up to 20L (since we have two councils in close proximity, it's more like one every 6 months).
  14. I beg to differ....then again, I'd prefer to be in Mexico than the US, especially as far as beer is concerned.
  15. Stupid Canadians......
  16. You serious? Coldies are to beer what Hyundais are to cars. Cheap and crap (but they try and sell them slightly upmarket), but if you have never had anything else in your life, OK. But the instant you try something else, you're gone in a flash. I hate them with a passion, along with VB. Carlton Draught is bearable if you're in Mexico and none of the pubs have Tooheys on tap, but apart from that I stay well clear.
  17. Scary thing is, Hyundai themselves are trying to sell them at ridiculously low prices as it is.....heard this morning $9,990 for a Getz.....UNDER TEN GRAND FOR A BRAND NEW CAR. Shitbox or not, that's damn cheap
  18. Either way, crappy government, say Ole a lot, and come north if you want a decent job.
  19. Can't hurt, apart from the turbo and piping (and maybe an extra sensor or two) the engine is 90-100% the same as a normal AE112 or AE102 7AFE, so I bet most of the codes would be the same.
  20. Dehydradtion is indeed a very common cause of headaches, it causes the brain to shrink slightly (the brain has a large percentage of water in it). Since alcohol is a diuretic (it causes excess urination, ie you urinate more water than what was contained in the initial drink), this causes dehydration, and hence the headaches you associate with a hangover (there are additional factors of alcohol consumption that also create headaches, but dehydration is a major one)
  21. Unless of course it's a Cyborg Mirage.....
  22. You're a Canadian Victorians are the real Mexicans.
  23. Funnily enough the Canadians that come down here seem to love it (I work in a company that has an office in Mackay as well, so there are often people going in-between).... True, less night-time drinking hours, but we have curfew here so we all just start earlier. Nothing wrong with drinking whilst it's still daylight, especially if it's the first one after work.
  24. Not too much has happened on the 102 front, was locked out of the g/f's house on Friday afternoon (got there early and no-one was home), so spent the time finally wiring up the JDM dash-clock. Despite almost rounding one of the screws holding the head-unit in (needed to remove it to tap into the wires), it worked perfectly with a minimum of fuss.......what didn't work was the car the next morning. Turns out I'd left the interior light on overnight (was convinced that I'd changed it from DOOR to OFF when I was pulling the dash apart, suppose I wouldn't have realised since the battery was disconnected most of the time anyway). So the fun challenge of pushing the car out the driveway and clutch-starting it was embarked upon. Put it back on the rollers at SAS yesterday, only change being the installation of the CAI some months ago, showed a net gain of 0.7kw (but different days, different conditions yadda yadda yadda). Still happy with it, even happier with the performance of the AE82 though, didn't want it to beat me but 70.8kw is much better than I was expecting. and the AE82 for comparison, note the shithouse AFRs and abrupt TVIS changeover Oh, and people will be happy to note that the battery is now securely held down by a battery clamp, as opposed to the way cooler securely-held-down-by-cable-tie approach
