Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum. Just signed. Pretty excited to post!
I purchased a 1998 Toyota corolla (Seca) 6months ago. The vehicle has done approx 155,000kms.
All has been going well, however for the past week or so I have been hearing this CHIRPING sound under the hood. And I have been trying to work out where it is coming from but I am not a hundred percent. It sounds like it is coming from the timing belt/serpenting belt area but what this means I have no idea.
So I decided to take a video so that everyone on the forum can view it and possibly help me diagnose the problem. I am new with cars and I am keen to learn, so yet there is the option of taking the vehicle to a mechanic but then I will lose a learning oppertunity.
What do you think is this? How should I DIAGNOSE the problem so I can become certain of the problematic part before I go around opening and buying parts?
Any advice shall be highly appreciated.
THanks

INTERESTING OBSERVATION:
When I apply even the slightest pressure on the clutch .....I mean like just tapping the clutch.....the chirping dissappears. Does this mean anything?
