  1. Long time no update... How's this thing going? Your car, that little red KE10 4dr, and the white KE70 wagon are my favourite three cars from Feb's show photo's.
  2. lol, ben you're driving tupperware with wheels. jk.

Car is now roadworthy and polished to within an inch of it's life. Also got full comp insurance so apparently this thing's worth two grand. Someone please run into me, lol.
  4. I like what you've done with this car so far. Needs twinky stickers though.

Just got home from the wreckers, scored an original red fadey bonnet so the hail dented re-pained one can go to toyota part heaven with the rest of the crap lying around my yard. Will polish it up tomorrow to tie in with the rest of the cleaned up body work. Rust repairs tomorrow too if the weather is good.
  6. Well long time no update. Bought a new daily (AE82) so I can pull this off the road to do some work to it. Scored a shared company car at work too so I only drove this van for the second time in three weeks yesterday and it's so much fun after getting out of a VY 1 tonner. How can a 82 corolla make a 2003 car with 85,000kms look bad? Oh wait it's a Holden. Stupid question. Company fuel is win though, so technically they're paying me to drive it so I decided to accept:P

Blacked the bars this-arvo. Took a while. RWCert tomorrow. Gonna most likely service it on the weekend as I got all the shit to do it. Most likely do a pickies run Sunday to get some SV11 Camry wipers as the drivers one is stuffed anyway. Hoping to find a overrated red CSX gaurd and bonnet too.
  8. Jap beaver panel looks the part. Good choice  Come see me for a "C" badge on grille. This car is worthy, lol.

Right A pillar is worst. Then right rear gaurd. Then Left A pillar. None of any of the above are much worth worrying about. You could just about fit my whole AE82 in some of the holes that my AE70 Sprinter has. By the way the Triple J and Roxy stickers are no longer on the rear window. The Jesus fish is staying, the middle "S" will be replaced with a "B" as this car has now been named 'Jebus'. If you don't get the name you need to watch more Simpsons, lol.

Only rust I've seen is the bit on the right rear gaurd and there's the usual stuff inside the A pillars. Pretty stoked really as I bought it sight un-seen. Big thanks to Ben for popping over this-arvo to help with the initial tidy up. We got a bit of hand cut/polishing done and Ben did some quick panel improvements on the right gaurd. We also changed the parker assemblies. Shit looks rediculous clean now in comparison to before, but it was too dark to get any better pics than this one...
  11. I got the rear bar and a parker from it. Apparently it only went in there on Thursday.

Don't say I didn't warn you all, it's a pretty serious looking little street machine.

Well a wise man once said "I will never own another AE82 again" Yet here I am. Picked it up on Friday night. Pretty sweet deal I guess. It's a very original CSX with all the goodies. Has a very nice interior with the velour headlining, rear headrests, tacho dash and elongated console arrangement. Previous owner added a JVC MP3 headunit and Pioneer front speakers which is mega bonus. The car was originally optioned up with the aircon and power steering so it's an absolute pleasure to drive with the steering. Paintowrk is faded as so I'll need to give it a bit of a cut/polish/wax. Three out of four window regs are rooted so I'll be off to the wreckers in the morning to get some goodies. Here it is, as it sits after a wash on the way home from picking it up... *edit pics later SD card not reading* Only really bought it for a couple reasons... A: need a car to get around in when I pull the van off the road B: Gotta teach an L plater in a car I don't give two hoots about
  14. I'm doing an Engineering apprenticeship and would highly reccommend it. What I do at work is more so "Textile Mechanic" but trade school side of things is "Fitting and Machining". I do a lot of fabrication at work so my welding skills come back accross in to my car hobby (bonus). Switching between tradeschool and work is good because I get to do a couple of different things in the week. If you want any more info I'm willing to chat on the phone just send me a PM. Apprenticeship is a Cert III eng, but you can do further study afterwards in avenues like hydraulics/pneumatics, CAD, tech drawing, advanced maths, welding etc... they all lead to higher certs and better pay / engineering manager type positions later if you so desire, if you've become good at your trade.
  15. Still pretty big turnout if theres 15 cars, I'll hopefully try get the day off work (don't like my chances though we're rediculously busy atm).
  16. There was one time the old 4K I had in my van refused to start in the morning. Check all your vacuum lines first. I was lucky enough to have another KE in the carport at the time to look off and trace the hose/line back as it definately wasn't in an obvious spot. As soon as I put it on it started first pop.
  17. My driveway, AE70 Sprinter KE70 Panelvan Mrs' 99 Vienta VXi Behind the gate, T-18, half stripped
  18. CCCV could have a member with a set lying around... Classic Celica Club of Victoria?
  19. I think the type of wheel you're searching for is called a "Dragway"
  20. Just wanting to make sure you've thought of this, but installing the headlining, are you going to do it through the front before the windscreen is fitted? It will be one piece yeah?
  21. So how much did the dude in Percy St try to charge for the muffler?
  22. Yeah hopefully enough pay will be going in tomorrow night so I can go grab it off Dave Wednesday maybe if he's free. You're welcome to come try my T-50 out if or when you plan on doing the GE conversion. You an have the proper mirror blanks when you're here.
  23. I have a couple of OEM blanking plates for right hand side here andy if you feel like coming over to grab one. From a USDM E7 passenger side.
  24. Yep it's under the dizzy, directly behind the last welsh plug on the passenger side. *edit* you posted while I went outside to look ;)
  25. Those number plates must be so close in release date.
