  1. That's cool, how did your car get the name sharki? My cars name is Frilzy, because it had no name (ie: no frills) when one of my mates hopped in, and it's stuck since then.
  2. I bought a space saver a few weeks ago, so that i can have a flat board in the boot when I deck it out. Test fitted the wheel yesterday while i was swapping the 13's onto it (putting the crappy wheels on so I don't have to worry so much about overspray) Fits on the front:D And the back:D And this afternoons progress... Got a few little bits to strip from the bay now and then the prepping for paint begins.
  3. Sweet! Top stuff
  4. Both but the left one was practically brown before.
  5. Gave the windscreen washer bottle and radiator over flow bottles a clean. Sprayed degreaser in, added small rocks and rice (yeah that's right i said rice) and a bit of water to shake around etc...you get the drift. About as clean as it can come up I think.
  6. Did a chop (bit darker than it will be and not metallic but you get the gist) Also did this basic replacement yesterday, changed the crusty old brown windscreen washer hose with new stuff. Crusty old... Pretty clear new... That's all for now.
  7. Wow it's been hit pretty hard, but fixing that is much better than trying to salvage the original shell. Are you keeping the side windows or welding in the flat panels from your first shell?
  8. Some work, slowly getting there... Removal of battery reveals, well, a present for me. Got Rust? Will cut up a new section to replace this and weld it in, will be my first welding experience. Also considering just keeping the car off the road for a few weeks and completely re-painting it as opposed to just doing the engine bay.
  9. I just spent $350 at the paint shop (just got back). Bought 4 litres of undercoat, 4 litres of colour, 4 litres of clear and a 20 litre thinners container. This is the colour
  10. I started an apprenticeship 5 weeks ago, working for a company that makes insulation for houses. What I do is help build the new machinery and maintain/service/fix the old. What I get out of it is a Certificate III in Engineering so tafe will cover the tech side of it (sorta like fitter and turner but not called that any longer). The best part of it all is that I am getting paid (quite well $15 hour, I'm lucky) to learn in a field that has a wide scope for further study etc... Well worth considering, I don't miss studying.
  11. You can kill a 4A-C :P I never thought it was possible but the impossible has happened. I never really took it over 6,000 RPM often and have had the car for the last 70,000 KMS. Oh and I've put oil in it twice (in the time I've owned it) just coz the red light on the dash kept bugging me :D Well it was a test which came to an end earlier than expected. Now for what to do ;) I've got a good 4A-C which is waiting to go in (the one out of my project car) and I figure I may as well paint the engine bay while it is empty... ...the body can wait just have to do the bay A.S.A.P so I can put motor in & get mobile again. Wanting to paint the whole car soon and I'm undecided on colour. But gotta decide quick because i want it up and running again within the next couple of weeks, so paint needs to be purchased soon. Colour Suggestions???
  12. Tez man, I like post 13 as well. And your Valiant looks mean I love it. Makes me wanna put my AP5 back on the road, but saving that project til after my 71 is done.
  13. Aftermarket kit for an E30 BMW, seller id is "stuartb2003" and here's a link... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...A%3AIT&rd=1
  14. once again, an ebay purchase;)
  15. Which headlights should I buy? Exibit A... Exibit B... I've been planning for ages to get the first ones but the black version is new to me, never seen it before today and it's kinda thrown me a bit...
  16. Nothing spectacular to be honest. The silver on the surrounds is a bit dodge, but I'll be painting them completely black so the angel eyes stand out more, so I'm not too fussed about that. And I didn't even notice on the listing that the parker housings were different colours, but once again not too phazed as I'll paint them too.
  17. Check out today's mail arrival:D The surrounds and the parkers were both bought from different Thailand sellers on ebay.
  18. Thought I'd have another go at it, here's a 30 minute job...
  19. Nice, who makes them? I'd consider them over Konig Rewinds for my car too they look hot.
  20. I used to be a design student and must say Adobe Photoshop is awesome, I've used it a bit and the chop I did above took less than 10 minutes. You could make it look perfect if you spent 4 hours, but I've got a busy day, and need a better resolution pic to start with.
  21. Don't know if this is what you had in mind, but a quick chop to help out anyways.
  22. Looks awesome. That colour on the AE82's usually looks bad when this age but yours is immaculate still.:) Oh and check this out :) .....

    My New Yota

I think us Aussie's got fair and proper stooged with our choice of models. That screams potential.
  24. I'm in the process of making a bit of a kit just for the hell of it. Check through the stuff I've done in my daily driver thread in my sig.
  25. Sorry but I'm against the grain too, not a fan.
