  1. Iv got a 5k with same compression & exhaust, but 25/65 cam with .474 lift.. And it's stupidly high compression for any type of bolt on..

  4. happy newyear to all! sorry about not making any posts.. havnt been able to do much to the rolla due to everywhere being closed! here's an update anyway ended up making up a new rear shelf out of 3mm mdf, just need to wrap it in carpet/vinyl stickers arrived from the usa shity bog job to pass rego ( will be replaced with metel later on this year ) carpet finally came!! so i put it in yesterday, ( picture of underlay )
  5. okay so i got #1 to TDC, and its at 5* on the pulley with the dizzy in this position.. ( i circled the mark )
  6. yeah i know.. i wanted them merged together like this, so, thanks..and sorry havnt done timing light, but ill get onto that today.. also, havnt had it tuned due to everywhere being shut for x-mass.. I'm just trying to eliminate all the little things for now. nah notyet.. I'm going to run down and get it soon! also saying the dizy is retarted.. i took it off to get the cam out, but i put it back in the same spot as when i got it ( there was a bolt groove on it )
  7. Also, how can I adjust my dizzy to what ever, then I can only loosen the bolt and spin it a little bit?
  8. Yeah pretty sure cam timing is right, as it drives perfect.. I lined it up dot to dot, then with head off I turned it over by crank, and as it #1 would go down, the exhaust lifter would lift.. So to fix this, I rotated the cam either 7 or 9 teeth, ( 1/4 of a full rev ) and by doing this, it then set the cam timing to, exhaust open whilst piston coming up, and shuts at tdc, then inlet is open whilst it goes back down.. Then does full combustion part.. Long story short, I'm fairly confident on the timing.. I'll speak to my mate ( mechanic ) tomorrow, and see if he has any ideas
  9. I don't normally look up how to do things untill I'm doing it.. So no.. And also yea, I took the entire carb off.. And sat it on the bench in the garage for a week.. So it could have gathered shit?
  10. I'm not sure how to check the idle jet size? It should be fine due to it running with this carby on it.. Right?
  11. will get some tomorrow! :y: also too, does anyone happen to have an image of how my vac lines connect up? since the day i got it, it had 2 little things coming off my what i think is, the thurmo housing? with nothing blocking them.. but yet its run fine? i just want to tidy them up... so yeah if anyone has a diagram or an image, that would be good!

  13. I'm not sure what the spark timing is at, I'll hopefully buy a timing light tomorrow.. Also, I remember reading somewhere you can only get 8* out of the stock dizzy? Not sure if mine is stock or after market.. If someone could let me know, that would be good! ( will upload a pic in a min )
  14. hey all, I'm just going to be posting all my questions into this thread so at the moment, iv got a 5k ke70, with a 32/36 weber and was working fine till iv done the following: 25/65 270dur .423 lift cam decked the head to 10:1 double valve springs new stem seals new oil filter 20/50 oil new "double" spark plugs now iv gotten it all back together, but yet it wont idle smooth under 1100-1200 rpm, and wont run at all under 1000rpm.. if i get it to idle and take it for a drive.. as soon as i come to a stop it will stall unless i hold it at around 1500 then back off.. would it most likely be the carby needing a tune? also, I'm rather confident that i have all the timing right.

  18. just got the ke a little X-MASS present.. a pair of bucket seats, $380 insted of $450.. boxing day sales <3 cheap, but yet so comfy!
  19. i plan to get it tuned in the next couple weeks.. ( when shops open back up ) so yeah
  20. it drive's completely fine.. backfire's a little when compression braking.. but when coming to a stop sign, or an intersection ( idle ) it will stall.. I'm just gonna get a tune anyway, and hope thats it
  21. i havnt gotten around to learning how to adjust my timing yet.. ill probably studdy up on it tomorrow and see if thats the cause.. it idle's fine at 1000.. but it just sounds a little high.. so i want to try and get it at around 800rpm
  22. possibly.. thats the most I'm going to do to the 5k, possibly may rebuild the bottom end.. next plans are to ( hopefully get my carpet ) put bucket seats in the front.. and tidy up the interior.. then a white respray, pump my guards real nice, 15x10 wheels with nice strech, then lower it... and once I'm over the 5k, hello engine conversion!
  23. engine went back together! :) drained the oil out.. and was crazy black, did a complete oil change, new oil filter, and new spark plugs.. and the v to keep me going :P video of its first run.. lumpy, but not too lumpy..   24. sorry about not making any posts.. completely forgot! engine with the head and cam off :) edit: wrong photo.. but you get the idea whilst taking everything apart.. i somehow managed to break a lifter, so i replaced them all the head ready to go to " aussie heads " and the cam to " tighe cams " baught new carpet for the car, but didnt register the post.. and being a fire fighter i attended an aus post truck fire.. 3 weeks later, my carpet still isnt here.. so I'm thinking it was on the truck picked my cam up on tuesday with the following specs got my head the next day ( wednesday ) acid dipped, polished, and decked now it goes together!
  25. it shouldnt be the idle jet size, due to it running fine before i put the cam in it?
