  1. I use IRC, but I'm on EFnet..
  2. I got a bit over 100 000 but I will never play it again!#"¤%
  3. my car was much more predictable with my locker than LSD but you get pushed alot into corners, therefore you will understeer if you don't give it full throttle or use the handbrake there is also more types of LSD's... clutch type, mechanical, etc, I don't remember 100% but there was something like if you have 1 rear wheel on dry tarmac, and the other is on ice with a open diff, you will spin on the wheel that's on ice with lsd #1 the lsd will put power to both wheels with lsd #2 the lsd will put power to the wheel with best traction correct me if i'm wrong... I've just read it on the internett, so it must be true!
  4. it can be dangerous yes but crossing the street can also be dangerous in some way.. just make sure your handbrake work, since your car will understeer alot, and that will safe your life / car / cat / dog or whatever... and with it's not understeering it's oversteering.. tyre wear will be much greater.. you will have problems finding parking spaces you can actually park in without using 30 minutes.. I just had to add these picture, of my doing some serious driftz with my mad driftz skillz with my locker last winter :):P:P I think you should wait untill you get the LSD..
  5. stupid game, now I've been sitting up all night#¤"%¤# hehehe
  6. weighted the ke70 the other day.. on the paper it says that my ke70 should weight 860kg remove all the sound deadining interiour parts except the dashboard.. etc, add 4age, t50, ae86 rear axle etc add 4 extra rims with wheels I had in the back seats, much tools, etc, and about half full fuel tank that weight approx 900kg.. ( I don't trust the readings 100% ) too much for my liking.. I need to remove more stuff like the metal that stiffens up the hood and boot. fibreglass hood and fenders and lexan/plexi rear side-windows would be nice, but also expenssive.. and since there is not very thick metal I guess I would only save max 10kg on that..? any ideas of other things I could remove that I might have forgoten / don't know about? to make the car go better it's always cheaper to remove weight than do more work to the engine, since I can't really do much more to get more to the engine without an aftermarket ECU I guess.. .. yes I know.. I'm addicted :D I just want more and more.. I can never get enough.. :) PS: for those who want more pictures, I have alot here: Pictures I will post pictures as I take them, but there will always be more pictures than I post here on that website
  7. if you have hood pins.. it's a really good idea to always check they are locked.. it's not nice to have the hood fly up when you're changing to 4. gear :D ¤%#¤%#¤% luckely I only got some dents in the panel between the hood and the frontwindow.. I will fix that tomorrow maybe I will make a couple of stickers to fit on the steering wheel or somewhere else that says" is the hood properly secured?" and "Remember to turn the lights off"
  8. nevermind.. I figured out ( I guess ) on the gearbox mounts.. in the middle of the 2 rubber things.. there is a large bolt that pulls the gearbox down when you thighten the bolt.. that bolt was missing.. so I changed to use ae86 rubber mounts :n: Haven't tested it yet, but the gearbox is much better mounted now, since I can't move it even if I push/pull with all my strength, with the old mounting I could move it about 2cm in any direction..
  9. I have a problem here.. ( again ) when I'm getting wheelspin my gear lever goes into all directions.. really fast.. hehe I guess it's the rubber on the gearbox crossmember.. but when I'm doing a burnout.. the same happens.. just much worse.. the rear wheels actually jumps up and down very fast.. and it feels like the car is actually jumping hehe.. I had some tools in the boot.. very nice sounds :n: the rubber bushes on the rods that connect the rear axle to the chassis looked really nice, almost new.. except the panhard rod, which I used the old bushes in.. the shocks is quality brand.. bilstein, and not very old.. springs are much stiffer than stock.. when I accelerate on the throttlybody, the engine is moving a bit... but not VERY much.. so what could this be? shocks, gearbox/engine mounts, rubber bushes?? help needed, this is really annoying! ( not that I'm doing burnouts everywhere, but I feel my car is not complete when this happend )
  10. my ae86 rear axle with discs was a direct bolt on to my ke70.. but I guess you guys only got ae86 with drums :n:
  11. yes, I have thinked about that.. but 16" tyres is so damn much more expensive than 15" I have to use 10mm with spacers to make it not crash with the calipers, and the control arms are alot longer than default too.. so the track width is abit too much.. hehe the tyres is actually outside the fenders.. which is illegal :\ so I have thinked about getting some compomotive TH3 rims, which are made for big brakes setup ( "TH3 - Ultimate gravel rally wheel with superior brake caliper clearance, improved brake cooling and heat dissipation properties. Advanced run flat performance utilising 'CTS' technology. High Magnesium specification aluminium alloy giving maximum strength to weight ratio. Available in sizes 6x15 through to 8x17."" ) probably something like 7,5x15" in about offset 0 will clear the calipers.. and find or make some really nice flares:D
  12. yeah.. big too :P it's something between 300 and 280mm discs, aluminium calipers, 4 piston.. great stopping power, but I think I need more brake fluid too my rear brakes.. or less to the front. my front brakes locks up really quick, but I can't get my rear brakes to lock at all ( I don't have a handbrake :P ) I just finished spraypainting the cover over the spark plugs, in racing red:D
  13. yeah.. I guess so.. I didn't care to even clean the extractors.. hehe I think I need some bigger rims :P using 15" now, about 1-2mm clearing to the caliper..
  14. yeah.. hehe now I drove to the city to buy some food and fill gas on the way the charge light came on.. then I heard a loud pling.. I checked, and the head on the bolt to adjust the alternator had falled off.. now I have to drill a hole to get the rest of the bolt out :\ and I mounted the rear seats.. then I crushed off the head on that bolt too :\ #%¤#%#¤ I think I'll name my ke70 "Bad Luck" is there a problem with 4age overheating? my radiator is very hot.. and the paint on the extractors is starting to fall off.. even it's marked 650C degress
  15. because it's the most ugly thing I've ever seen done to a ke70
  16. I have now fixed the clutch it wasn't the pumps or clutch itself.. it was the pedal that has been bent sideways.. So we had to bend it back.. and reinforced it with some serious welds.. hehe heavy duty clutch pedal.. I will post pictures of it tomorrow I want to fix the spare ae86 rear axle I have in my garage just in case I break the one I have on the car. But the pinion is crushed in the spare axle. The pinion has 8 teeth and the other has 39, what ratio is that? it also writed something like F/13 ( it might be a T, not a F ), and 50-1979 I only got to drive 30miles on the new engine before something went wrong.. so I guess I have to fix something each 30 mile.. :\ hehe
  17. I will post more pictures as I take them.. now I don't have any clutch.. the problem is that I can not clutch.. so I had do drive home from work in 1. gear and start the car downhill.. hehe I guess it's the master cylinder.. but it can be the slave cylinder or the clutch itself too.. I have a new slave cylinder, and a almost new master cylinder I will change tonight.. there has always been a problem changing to 4. gear with the new engine/gearbox.. and it has been harder each time I change gears.. when I drove to work I had problems chaning to all gears...
  18. everything is not yet fixed, like handbrake etc.. but it's driveable, so I can get to/from work now :D I had some problems with throttle cable, as there is a 'special' pedal linkage in ke70, but not ke20/ke55/ae86 etc.. ke70 pedal linkage :D ae86 pedal linkage just pull the throttle cable out from the firewall, but ke70 does it sideways.. I solwed this problem by changing the whole pedal over, and make new holes in the firewall exhaust crashed with the tailshaft, so we had to bend it alittle, about 2cm clearing now when the car is off ground and even more when it's on ground.. wiring diagram for the alternator was a tricky part, since my cables was with different color than my wiring diagram.. front suspension, rack&pinion, when I changed to the ae86 quaife quick ratio r&p I used the ke70 'steering wheel arm' and the shaft was to long, but I figured out that the part on the photo below has different lenghts.. so if you want to use ae86 steering rack on a ke70, you should also use the ae86 part of this: that's the big problems that has come in my way of doing this engine conversion.. and I found out, ae86 gearbox crossmember doesn't fit ke70 with 4age and t50.. I had to use my old gearbox crossmember.. and I could only mount it with two bolts without drilling new holes.. I didn't care about stressing to get ae86 fuel lines etc to fit, so I just bought 5 metres of 10mm and 5 metres with 8mm of flexiable rubber lines that I mounted to the brake line.. Fuel tank sender doesn't work I think.. it's showing half full tank when I filled it full.. and it's abit strange.. so I just drive around with a spare can with 5litres of fuel :D
  19. now I got the car on the road, at last! :D it's really scary to drive, I was used to own a slow car.. hehe
  20. I used some ae86 rear springs in my ke70 that I chopped.. there was no difference in height or stiffness.. now I'm using ae86 rear axle on my ke70 which was a bolt on conversion.. front springs I don't know, they look the same but I haven't tested it since I'm using coilovers now... I think all te/ke7* and ae86 uses the same springs.. rear shocks will also fit ke70, you can even buy bilstein 'lowering' shocks for escort mk2 that fit ke70
  21. I have some prolems/questions.. what should I do about the throttle wire? the ke70 wire isn't long enough, and the ae86 wire has different mounts in the chassis.. swap only the wire and make new holes for it, or swap the whole wire, pedal etc? what is the usual and best way to do this? the 4age-alternator has builtin voltage regulator, how should I wire this? ( my old alternator has an external voltage regulator.. )
  22. hehe, I have already contacted the police and said what was stolen.. My insurance covers about 1500USD for stuff like cd player, sound system, laptop etc, but I don't know how much I will get yet.. and it takes some time before I get the money I guess.. I will think I will also get money to send the car away to get new locks etc because they don't work anymore, but I will just weld the holes and buy a central locking system which is a addon on my alarm How much did you say 4 throttlebodyes and a aftermarket ECU would cost me? :)
  23. I found out today someone tryed to steal my ke70, destroyed the boot lock and on the passager door, stealed my cd player, K&N filter, laptop and subwoofer and tried to start the car without the key by connecting the wires on the ign-key thingy.. :) they can't be really smart, they should know you can't start a car without fuel tank, radiator and ECU.. hehe I get money for my stuff back on the insurance, but I'm still mad at these f@$kers!! and when I find them, I'm afriad I'm gonna spend alot of time in the prison for murder hehe
  24. bought some oil now.. just have to check if it's good enough :) engine: pennzoil performax 5w40 full synthetic gearbox: Castrol SMX-S 75W/85 (API GL3-4) diff: Castrol SAF-XJ 75W/140 (API GL5 LS) I was reading the ae86 manual and it recommended GL4 or 5 75W-90 gearoil, but I bought 75W-85.. is that good enough or should I swap it for something better?
  25. 1: check how much money you've got 2: multiply it by 3 3: now you know the answer :P
