  1. Hello Last weekend DCN ( Drift Club Norway ) organised 'Drift Training' at Gol,Norway.. I was there with my ke70, and a couple of friends of me also was there ( 3x ke70 ) Some of the guys that was there has now completed a video.. DriftClubNorway-IceDriftTraining-2005-divx.avi - 10min - 100MB to show the rest of the world how fun this is :P We was not allowed to use 'rally ice tyres' .. only regular winter tyres with spikes.. I only had spikes in front.. so it didn't go very fast, but it was very fun! Next year I will be there with better tyres! :D
  2. yes it is at the moment, but I'm gonna fix it!! :P
  3. hehe, that's right.. I don't care if it looks bad or good as long as it goes like hell!! :D it goes great, not as fast as my ae86.. but good enough for being a daily drifter :S I'm considdering moving the ae86 parts over too my ke70.. 170hk 4age, quaife gearbox, quaife quick-ratio steering.. bilstein suspension.. etc.. but then I have no ae86 :P, And if I want to register my ae86 to get license plates it will cost me about USD$2000 .. hmmm *thinking*
  4. If you are in a hurry ( like I was.. ) the paint job will be horible... The condition it was when it was 'new' to me..: then I decided to paint it black... I did it outside.. and it began to rain at the end.. So the result was not good.. I did it with a compressor and spray-thing hehe..: then I wanted something new ( again ) ( the plans was to paint it orange but the color wasn't what I excepted.. So I painted it white with black(not glossy.. but matt? ) hood ...: Don't hurry to get finished like I did.. Take your time..:D ( I'm not yet finished with the white/black yet.. 1 more layer and it's 100% perfect :P ( almost perfect )
  5. okay.. buy why is weber so much better than mikuni-solex? They both look pretty :D and what about dellorto? is they any good? the are 2 types of mikuni-solex right? one from japan and one from europe ( italy?? )
  6. No, its the top cam chain ajuster. 2Ts don't have a top cam chain, just a single bottom chain held tight by oil pressure (very similar to K motors). 2T-Gs have a similar bottom chain controlled by oil pressure but have a 2nd sprocket on the standard pushrod camshaft position which is filled with a dummy cam (having only fuel pump lobes, or none on the EFI models). This 2nd sprocket is to drive the top cam chain to drive the camshafts. The top timing chain has to be ajusted manually and correctly (i.e. _not_ as tight as you can get it. I don't know exactly how to set it caws I don't have one). Its possible the noise this guys hearing might be the top cam drive over ajusted, but it could be plenty of other things. I _might_ be able to find a cam drive ajuster, but it might take some time...... okay.. thanks for the help no.. the sound is coming from a different engine.. I have found a couple of 2T-G for sale here now.. 1: the cheapest one.. has not been use for many years.. need to be overhauled.. 2: the 2T-G missing the bolt for the top cam chain adjuster.. with mikuni-solex that needs to be rejetet? 3: 2T-G with the strange sound.. the owner didn't remember if it was EFI or carby's.. 4: a slightly tuned 2T-G head was ported.. bigger cams, etc.. with webber 40mm dcoe I'm going to buy the cheapest just to have a spare engine.. ( it's cheap ) and another one to use in my ke70.. probatly one of them that has carby's.. then I don't need to use a very long time to get the engine up and running.. about the top cam chain adjuster.. is it impossible to find one of these..? or is it possible to buy a new one from ex. toyota?
  7. expensive is USD $ 5.000 for a SR20DET and gearbox.. everything is expensive here in norway.. :\ I've found a 2T-G.. completely overhauled?? new pistons, rods, etc except for the crankshaft.. it's not balanced.. so it comes a strange sound from it.. is the 2T/-B and 2T-G crankshaft the same? and I've also found another 2T-G, that one is missing a bolt outside the engine.. a bolt with a spring that has some connection to the chain.. does the 2T/-B have a similar bolt?
  8. hmm okay.. it seems a sr20det / ca18det will be too expensive for me.. 3T-GTE would be cheaper.. but maybe I just use a 2T-G.. 3T crankshaft etc.. higher CR and better cams.. how much does the 3T crankshaft cost in australia.. with everything I need rods and pistons? or is it just waste of money to use 3T 1.8l in a 2T-G?
  9. hmm okay.. in which nissan's do I find these engines, what's theyr hp/torque performance, estimated price, etc...? how much trubble will it be to do a convesion for me? I guess it will be alot more than a T engine as I already have a gearbox and engine mounts.. exhaust, cutting the tunnel to fit the gearbox? ecu, fuel, do I need to cut my firewall to get space for the engine? weight for these engines is less than a 4age i've heard.. is that correct? what about engine mounts.. does they look alike, or is it a completely different system? I also guess I need a longer / shorter tailshaft.. I need a stronger rear axle as I think it will explode if I drive hard enough with my 2T-B Also considdering?? ( don't know how to spell, and I know it's wrong) buying a ae86 parts car for my ke70.. move everything I can use.. rear axle.. suspension.. steering components.. etc front brakes for ae86 <-> ke70 is the almost the same? but the ae86 has ventilated brakes..? hmm.. can't sleep, got to much thinking on my brain :)
  10. okay, that's nice! first I need to buy some nice suspension setup.. but after that I want a 3T-GTE engine parts will be even more difficult to get in norway.. 3T-GTE doesn't even exist here, hehe is these engines sold over the net? or just by mouth? if only by mouth can you or someone else arrange the buy / shipping thing? or if most of them is sold over the net can someone 'check' the engine so I know it's in good condition, so I don't pay alot for a engine that won't even turn around, as it will cost me alot for shipping/etc if it's a dead engine.. the t50 gearbox that follow the 3T-GTE is just the same as my T50 gearbox for 2T-B? if that's true I don't need the gearbox.. it will just cost me more for shipping/etc as I already have a couple of T50/T40 gearboxes in my garage..
  11. norwiegans have habbit of building cars back to front? I suppose the next thing you going to tell me is that you drive on the wrong side of the road too! :) hehe no, I doesn't drive on the wrong side of the road, you guys do  Super Jamie: is that price with ecu, wiring loom, turbo, etc? or just THE engine? 3T-GTE uses a T50 gearbox right?
  12. yeah, that could be nice, but before I do any more to the engine, I need a decent suspension setup.. also got thinking about getting a 3T-GTE in my ke70.. could be fun.. and powerfull.. what is the price for these engines in australia / new zealand?
  13. does shocks for te71/te70/ce70/ fit on ke70?
  14. Now I got my 'exhaust spacer' so the exhaust manifold doesn't crash with the rack'n pinion steering ( remember, I live in norway and the driver seat is at the opposite place :P ) exhaust will be made within this week, going for 2" size, I doesn't know if I could afford both new mufflers, maybe I use both of the old ones, or buy one new yet, maybe only the first muffler is going to be replaced for now, and when I get some more money just swap the muffler at the back of the car :) the twin carbs is getting mounted as soon as the exhaust is fixed, and it's going to be some good shit! hehe I'll see how much better the car goes with the new carbs and properly exhaust, maybe I need to get even more power? how about shaving the head for 10.0:1 to 11.0:1 CR, or is that too much? I'm running fuel rating 98 all the way..., new cams? do it exsist alternative cams for 2T-B at all?, and maybe some webbers carbs.. any idea's?
  15. okay... :) but then I will either chop my springs all over and just buy new shocks, or make some sort of adjustable coilovers in front and chop springs at the back.. I know koni makes shocks for te70/te71/ce70, but ke70 is not listed.. anyone know if they fit? it's should fit right? but I want to be 100% sure before I buy something expenssive :P bilstein doesn't make shocks for ke70 any longer?.. anyone has a suggestion to what I should buy? I want a set for lowering.. else I just could buy new shocks from toyota here cheaper than koni, etc..
  16. okay.. I have considered of just chopping the springs.. but the springs are old and crap, and not stiff enough.. I need something stiffer and lower.. if I chop them they well be even less stiff than it's right now.. right? well these fit my ke70? : they are made for ae86..
  17. hey, I need some help here ( again, hehe ) I want to lower my ke70 about 80mm.. at least 40mm.. then I suspect I need new shocks and springs because they're never changed before i think and they feel pretty tired.. what should I buy? I have some spare coilovers for my ae86 with alot of different springs / shocks in my garage.. could I use them? do I need to convert my setup to make the ae86 coil-overs to fit? pictures: http://riiber.net/coilovers/ am I missing something to make them fit? ( it stands '400 200 hk6 - 49218 2580 1370' on the shocks mounted on the coil overs, and 300 200 44038 on the other two shocks, is that the ratio for (de-)compression? if it is.. is it good for street use? ) also.. I've found lowering springs for the back of the car for ae86.. not ke70 I've heard that I can buy bilstein shocks for ford escort mk2 for the back of the car.. are the springs / shocks for ae86/te71/ae70/ke70 all similar? help wanted! :P
  18. I'm gonna change my exhaust because it's f@$ked.. it seems I'm gonna use the default exhaust manifold.. but what do you guys recommend for size? first twin 1,5" then 2" the rest? I want top end power, but I'm also going to use the car as a 'almost-daily-driver'.. so I also want some low end torque.. if ya know..
  19. Does the fender and doors from a te71 fit a ke70?
  20. I put a block of wood at the gap between the bellhousing and the engine and hammered it, now I got it loose :doublebird: my garage is full of engines and gearboxes, I didn't have space for the car, hehe :P If i only had a bigger garage.. ;)
  21. Hello I was gonne remove my K40 gearbox from my 4K engine to save some space in my garage I've removed all the bolts on the bellhousing.. but the gearbox only get pulled about 1cm out from the engine.. I can spin the gearbox around and around, but I can't pull it completely out from the engine.. just like the clutch is stuck or something.. anyone know what to do?
  22. hmm.. ok, a friend of me has 2 T50 from AE86's he's not using so I could probatly buy one of them.. but I have a 2T-B running in my car right now.. the engine mounts are 100% the same on the 2T-G? so I could just 'swap' the 2T-B with the 2T-G pretty easy?
  23. I got this idea.. I have a spare 4A-GE black'n bluetop with ECU and *engine mounts* I also have a hydraulic clutch system working I have a T50 to 4A-GE bellhousing.. can I just change 2T bellhousing that is on my T50 gearbox and mount the 4A bellhousing on the same gearbox? or do I need a '4A - T50' gearbox? how difficult will it be to mount the 4A-GE to my ke70.. do I also need the crossmember that's under the engine, the engine mounts is mounted in? I have also sourced a cheap 2T-G, but I don't know if it's with carbys.. should I use a 2T-G or 4A-GE?? or just stick with the 2T-B help wanted!
  24. okay... so the 3k heads on early ke20 is the best one to use, but do all of them have higher compression than 4k heads or just that 3k-c one..? how do you tell difference between a 3k and 3k-c?
  25. Hey My friend has a ke70.. and he wants more power.. he's using the 4k engine, and I've heard 3k heads gives better compression what has to be done to fit the 3k head, and which 3k heads are best, does it matter at all which 3k head we use? I've found a ke30 on a local wrecker here.. with 3k/3k-c(I don't know) :insane:
