  1. Hi,has anyone got a running 4age corolla project they may be interested in moving on as a swap for a currently vic registed till august VR commodore ute, dual fuel.It does need tlc but it runs, its reliable and its registered. A V6,auto,mags, big bore exhaust,if interested let me know what you have
  2. Mate, you have been such a busy little vegemite, hope all your efforts work out well for you!
  3. I think it looks good and a little different from the norm. Was it difficult to fit?Maybe you could give us a technical run down/description of how and what you did to fit it! Otherwise you can pm me with the details if you don't want to post it!
  4. Other peoples projects mate, you never know what your going to get until it stops working and then your f###ed trying to work out what they have done so you can set it right.Sometimes its fun, sometimes its a pain in the arse, more often the latter!
  5. Think you will find that in the morris minor example he most definitely did cut the floor!
  6. Thanks for the input, for the moment I think it is sorted but I haven't actually used it yet to get an idea of feel or life span.If it doesn't work I'll look more carefully into your suggestions. At present it will have only one large reasonably gentle bend in the engine bay and both ends are being pulled in a straight line so hope there will be minimal stress. My only real concern at present is regards flex of the cable when pressure is applied at the pedal,I may have to design some sort of physical support through the radius of the bend to stop any flexor loss of operational function, time will tell. Regards Pete.
  7. Hi,try this. http://morrisminorow...topic4692-0.php
  8. Actually no,although I know about this one,its not the one I was thinking of,still looking for it!
  9. Another line of thought you may wish to consider,in one of the UK forums a guy cut and shut a Miata to fit underneath a morris minor so I don't see any great difference in doing it to a toyota.Chop the floor pan to length, cut the floor out of the toyota and join the two together, simple eh!If I can find the linkj I will post it for you to read!
  10. All done, thanks for the help!
  11. Good idea that one, will try it tomorrow.
  12. If you don't mind putting a pic up that would be good.I have moved the alternator over to the other side and I need a longer belt to suit.
  13. Can anyone tell me what the difference in length is between a standard 4k fan belt and a 4k belt from a car with a/c and does it have a tensioner?
  14. Ended up using a cable out of a holden HJ/HZ/HX 6 cylinder, perfect fit at the gearbox and I just have to make a bracket and alter the pedal a little but I expected that,Me a happy chappy!
  15. Peter - standard cable is fine Thanks for that info BUT the way that mine is set up it would have to fold back on itself very tightly because I am using the original pedal assembly and I would have to strip the metal sheath of the cable, therefore I think the stress and radius of the bend would be unsuitable..
  16. Thats my understanding also, auto has a flex plate mounted to the crank, not a flywheel and the converter is mounted to the flex plate and then when you fit the auto you slide the splines into the converter, this was the case on my 4k auto anyway!
  17. looks like the US version is quite different regards the sheathing etc and quite a long length of exposed cable.Educated guess says it wont work the way I want it to.Might have to consider making it a direct operation via a rod or something from the pedal, its not hard on the pedal end but sorting out some sort of fitting to adapt to the fork lever could be a headache.
  18. Thanks for replies so far, hadnt thought about LHD models, guess I would have to import it.Yes,Datsun A series are common and probably more common than 4k but they are both reasonably straight forward and common swaps although there are a few small issues with both choices. Trev,I'll pm you some details as there is a bit to include but its not hard!
  19. Hi all, Another question I hope someone can help me with- Discussing the clutch cable for a manual ke70,is there another cable available that has the same or similiar fittings at each end but is longer.Regarding the end fittings,it is more critical that the gearbox end be the same, the pedal end is not as critical. Reason is that I actually have a morris minor with a 4k manual and I am working to connect up the clutch assembly so I need the gearbox end to suit the box but I can fabricate something individual for the pedal. Just a pic or two for interest sake..
  20. Ive been looking at adds for new ones and they all appear to be dual use manual/auto units,I want one that does not have the pipes exiting the bottom tank, any ideas or are they all set up for this dual use?
  21. Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between the manual and auto radiator for a ae82 4 door sedan regards size etc.,I know about the outlets on the bottom of the tank for trans cooling bit I really need to know about physical size.Thanks,Pete.
  22. Hi,you probably don't want to hear this but its not a good idea to leave unfinished bog work,at the least you should temporarily paint it until your ready to finish it off as the bog absorbs moisture and this will ruin it and create other problems in the future.
  23. Buy it NOW,before its scrapped or stripped, even if your only 50% interested I'm sure you could on sell it to someone here pretty easy and they may even let you make a small profit on it!!
  24. Fair enough!Hope those bolts come out easy, its a prick of a job and I know cause I have just had to do it on one of my projects.I had a bolt sheer off inside a captive nut that I couldn't get to so in the end,in frustration,I drilled a hole best I could through the core of the bolt, pressure fitted an 8mm bolt in the hole, pulled it and the nut forward and then miged them both to the panel steel then cut the bolt to length, solid as a rock, only issue,I have to use a nut and washer instead of a bolt and washer. There is always a way!
  25. Will be keen to see your efforts on the two door conversion!
