well i have nice steelies and hubcaps sorted out, then need whitewalls to finish the dealio. also have been in contact with a guy who does venetians. so i need a vote here venetians or tints, either way need something to tone down the goldfish bowl effect of the car. considering both to be honest but you wont be able to see the venetians very well due to the tints, so i dunno.

Hey ladies and kentleman. Yet another car yet another long boring story. Anyways, With she who must be obeyed taking the RT40 as her own and it not really being a suitable daily anyways, i decided to start looking for something to suit my tastes. the criteria was the following: -it had to me big and comfy, as I'm a tall kent -aircon and power steer were preferred, -auto was a big must, i severely dislike driving in heavy traffic, and frankly I'm getting old and soft. - preferably something big enough to tow my trailer a little more comfortably than my poor DX, its only a little box trailer but then again its only a little corolla. - it preferred the idea of a wagon, but with no real locally available toyota luxo wagons i sorta gaveup on a MX73 wagon, and every time a crown comes up its rooted or expensive. - of course it had to be a toyota. Anyways i digress from my story, i have put the feelers out through my various channels, and managed to find myself this bad boy through good old douggie. Massive thanks to Douggie for finding this one for me! Its a MX36 cressida wagon, four speed auto. grand total of four hundred dollars. it has: Aircon, with several components brand new and its icy cold! 4m motor, with very recently changed coolant and NO BHG! i kinda feel ripped off there, don't they all come with that as standard? feels good and strong too, found receipts in the car, motor was replaced with a reco unit about 10,000 ks ago! the interior has a few small blemishes and needs a really good clean but most stuff works (but not the tacho ;) ) the front seats exterior is pretty good too but both sides look to have had scrapes... some stuff missing due to damage, including one of the badges on the back corner (would kill for another!) pretty much nothing that will stop it getting RWC straight away, well short of me lifting it up and checking out the front end. but it all seems pretty good from a quick look. anyway this thread means nothing without pictures! So here the obligatory front shot paint and stuffs not perfect but a good polish should help. heres a rear shot, as you can see I'm in need of a tail light and its missing the badge on the back corner too, anyone able to tell me a wrecker with some of these? id be really keen to go get some bits! heres some inside shots now so yeah its mostly been very well looked after, and i plan on continuing this and making a few small improvements along the way.

yeah i know i have something in the works for that... got a set of wheels coming from my secret squirrel hiding spot.

Well a little update, Last night i painted the wheels cause the silver was peeling from them and they generally look hideous. they are now black, much nicer against the green paint. got some closer pics of a few other things too! heres a shot showing how much nicer black wheels look. even still they are hideous, i have some jellybeans coming that will sort this nicely though. heres the horsepower maker, a brand new 32/36 weber! heres a shot of the kinda lame brake setup's heart... its a unknown as yet master in a custom unboosted setup. its f@$ken ghey. need to get some sort of boosted setup in there to replace that. I'm personally fine with it but if Becs going to be driving it then the brakes need to be top notch. The previous owner was a lady, so this sticker sorta reflects the girlier side of it and my missus thinks it suits too so its staying. The rocker cover when we got it look like ass, sent it off to a mate and this is the result Becs finally named the car too. Her name is Myrtle. Cute old school name for a cute old school car. thats all for now, probably wont do too much for a bit cause i just got myself a new ride too... but thats another story ;)

Well like every story starts off, i was looking for a car. We had just sold the pajero and i wanted something to have as a daily driver as my corolla is just receiving far too much police attention with its mods it has. Found a couple cars on carsales.com i wanted to go and look at, so i made some phone calls and organised to go look at them all on a saturday. The first was a MX73 cressida, that was in shocking condition and quite frankly wasnt even worth the 500 bucks being asked. id hoped it was better cause i really wanted one of them as a new daily, but not much i can do there. The second car we went and looked at was one i hadnt told my missus much about just that it was a old corona. as soon as we saw it we were in love. here Ill pause from the story to show a few pictures of the car as it sat there. here is the first view we got of it! and as we looked more we got to see this and then this and then last but not least this So uhh yeah there you have it, we got our selves a 1969 RT40 corona. The good bits include- 12R engine from a RT80 disc brake front end (again from a RT80) munroe gas struts and king front springs Weber carby, jetted and tuned for the motor 2 inch exhaust Full house respray in the greeny mustardy colour its painted 13 inch mags (the original wheels wouldnt clear the disc brake front) a fairly complete good condition interior and last but not least i got pretty much an entire second car's worth of spares. some things i even have two or three of. Being that like with every thing that comes into our household my missus and i paid even halves for this car, its equally both of ours, unlike my corolla though Bec took an immediate shine to this one and declared that perhaps we could find something more suitable for daily duties because she wanted this one as her toy. only fair really methinks, bout time she got keen on something other than her lancer ;) No doubt this one will be a long standing addition to the household, Plans include a set of bigger drums for the rear end (I'm pretty sure i can do the same hiace upgrade as my corolla has), spending some time making it look nice by lowering the rear and probably another respray as it has some rust coming up, i suspect the prep work on this respray was rushed because there is a lot of dodgy stuff in the paint surface up close, and plenty of them naughty brown bubbles. after that i think a more period correct set of wheels and a tidy up of the interior is in order. first thing on the list to do were replace the broken clutch slave cylinder, which i have done, and fix a small hole in the radiator which i have also mended. now pretty much the only thing stopping us from driving it (it was sold to us with rego) is fixing the linkages in the column shift, or possibly putting the rare factory buckets i received with it and putting a floor shift in. looking at all possibilities at the moment on that front. anyways ill quit rabbiting on and let you guys enjoy her in her glory. cheers ladies and kentlemen!

yeah bro the DX is still here hey, just drove it for the first time in a week. looking into options as far as repowering it goes, and going to paint it soon also.

LOL mechanics get the parts cheap then charge retail on top of that to the customer. in some instances they charge extra. I have my own repco trade card, very handy. Also pmed you mate.

once our RT40 is fixed bec and i will probably go down there one night, possibly not though cause its so f@$kin far. harrys is more the go for us being northsiders. get some nice cars there on a friday night too. just not as many. would be nice to have the old school toyotas reppin there hey.

fk! long time no post! how are all you kents??? finally back on track, got my internets back. few new additions to the garage too hey, got a RT40 corona which was supposed to be my daily, but my missus claimed it as her own, which I'm cool with, about time she took a interest in something decent haha. so i got myself a new daily too, its a mx32 wagon, in really good condition with really cold cold aircon! thanks douggy for hooking me up with the cressy, will have it towed here next sat. will get pics and a rides thread up then. also might do a thread for the RT40 later on tonight.

got quoted 180 bucks to get it done at driveline services brendan... current plans are probably fix it, sell it and put the money elsewhere atm. saw the remnants of a rolled patrol the other day, one of the occupants was under a corner of the car which was perched upside down on top of him. not so nice. sort of sucked the life out of any desire i had to drive this thing. see how i go once its fixed but i think itll be fix and sell. don't like the idea of putting my life or my girlfriend at risk.

went to archy last night, parked the DX in the paid parking section, when i came out to leave there was four rollas next to me, three KE70's and a ke20 on the end.... anyone know whos they were? then dropped by munchies for a quick look, saw benny and bludger there. then spotted three KE70s and a AE86 cruising together in a certain busy part of pinkenbah later in the night.
