stuff munchies its too far lol. however if anyone feels like checking out mine and becs RT40 out in person we are going to be at harrys tomorrow night. be nice to have some more old school toyota out with us...
-
lol no need for said industrial area bro, I'm sure the nice drive through the mountains is enough. in like flynn. probably bring the corolla and bec will no doubt want to bring the RT40...
-
hey man, not seen you on here before but I'm pretty certain ive met you before a few times ;)
-
Ok so i have managed to make it so reverse engages turs out i had adjusted it in the wrong direction previously... stupid lack of understanding of levers and fulcrums.... anyways it now reverses and drives quite nicely... had it out at harrys tonight for the sake of having somewhere to drive it... If anyone is keen i will be out there again tomorrow night.

well on saturday, we got a brass bush made up to fix the gear shift linkages as they were sloppier than getting with a chick whos been through the whole footy team haha. i got it all back together on saturday and we were finally able to drive it... forwards lol. it still wont bloody go into reverse unfortunately and at this stage i can't work out why, and I'm at my wits end as to what to do to fix it... if anyone has experience with these old column shifts and similar issues i would be all ears, its kind of inconvenient having to push it when it needs to go backwards... anyways not to be too deterred we took her out and bec has quickly got the hang of the column shift and the unboosted brakes which is good. Everywhere we go people point and stare at the car, and a lot of people want to know what it is. lots of older people have said nice corona too. Seems everyone likes a classic. Also in driving it around the old loose clutch master cylinder cap has come off  anyone know what models should have the same cap? or am i gonna need a new master .

also i forgot the other thing i have got for it is a bigger transmission cooler. it was a bit busted up so i scored it pretty cheap. like next to nothing. had it tested it doesnt leak. so when i got it home looked like this: then after a little pateience and time with a fin pick it looked like this: just need a lick of paint now to finish it off. then ill be replacing this, its the stock transmission cooler. and ill probably use that to cool the power steering, there is this loop in the system that goes to the front of the car, but it doesnt do too much, the little cooler will do a much better job. so yeah all things on cooling system fronts should be good. I'm a little worried about the extra heat causing issues, is it worth putting a thermofan behind the two coolers? will be mounting the two cores together so one fan could cool them both. mounting them isnt a issue, I'm just worried about the extra heat being not good for the efficiency of the radiator? as we all know the M series motor isnt well known for its cooling system being reliable. also i have a water temp guage here somewhere too I'm gonna use to keep an eye on things.

so i keep getting some rather undue attention for my wheels and the offset they have, so have now got myself some nice daily rims and tires to keep myself out of trouble. now i know most corollas need a spacer to run these rims, not mine, gotta love the xt130 front end :) reed's car was here too as he was here helping out and we were working on both rollas, so photo opportunity ensued. hrmm maybe after a closer perspective its time to mow the lawn too.
-
shit man i love that piccy hey. yeah i was using a cutting disc on a 8 inch grinder! if you cut along the right part of the car its much easier. oh and top tip... remove the fuel lines before attempting this lol i pulled the tank out but when i chopped through the lines i managed to make a little fire haha.

ok so again on the strange jack front i managed to get the corolla in the air at both ends yesterday so who knows with it... ill try lifting the cressida again soon to get them other two wheels on. Might have tracked myself down a tail light but waiting till monday to hear back about that one. In the meantime i have replaced the stock rear speakers with some i had lying about the shed, and wired up a cd head deck. I'm halfway through mounting it all up and dinner was cooked so i left it at that, ill try finish tomorrow.

hehe i know what it is :) oi ash coming tomorrow? if so text me in the morning i have a little present for ya bro

yay i wont be the only one there in my luxo land barge, as by the time this happens my rolla may already be off the road for more upgrades... what model crown do you have? OT: terry this is more of a hey is there anyone interested type deal, if there is enough interest there will be a cruise date set, looks like there will.

no they arent, id say they are from a hiace, as they fit hiace rims and i got them from douggie who has several hiaces? I don't suppose any of them are dint free? id be super keen on switching the two busted ones for some with no dings, and your only using them for bolt trays  nah no leaks from the jack hey its fkn weird. i don't know anything about jacks to be honest, if anyone reads this and wants to come show me how to fix it id be happy to compensate you for your time, the jack isnt actually mines its borrowed from a member of the family, and i don't wanna return it not working 100%
-
ok so for some strange fkn reason my jack will only lift the much heavier front end of the car... so my front hiace rims are on but not the rears... how is it i can lift the front (under the crossmember) and not the rear (under the diff centre) like seriously this is shitting me badly, and the rt40 which is much lighter is the same, no lift under the diff but fine under the front also while moving it i noticed miraculously my tacho has started working!
-
I Pmed Teddy, no reply as yet  anyways some progress. i have some hiace steelies here, and got ahold of some rather second hand hubcaps. kinda dirty arent they? spent a little bit polishing the hubbies, here's how they look now going to head out soon and put all the rims and hubbies on, will post again when done with piccies
-
he didnt do that i did. firstly it has no diff and no front end in it, secondly you can't fit a tilt tray down my drive way, cutting the thing in half is the only way we are going to be able to lift the carcass that was once a car onto my trailer (as demonstrated) to get rid of it! the first half will be taken away next sat. and then i just have to get the second half onto the trailer lol.
-
DX front for sure, but you know I'm just a little biased. if i had to choose from the chioces though id say flat front.
-
Pity you not in brisbane or you could just come round and copy the wiring from my DX
