Update! - Bought a camera - Bought junk food - Stole a helmet from a relative - Hearing knocking coming from the rear of the car (exhaust rubbers gone maybe? check that out now) - About to bleed brakes once more as theyre still spongey Pretty much all set!

hahaha Farm cars are the best! :laff:
-
Knowing me, no matter how i go about it, the lense will be covered or blurry... :glare: lol

What year is yours? as series 2 AE92 SX's have the same brakes and very similar suspension (same mounting points but slightly narrower springs to the AE102) Best bet is to get aftermarket suspension and get better pads for the brakes with some new brake fluid

Hey I own one of those! well used to :P I had an AE102 94 Corolla RV which had the better suspension in it. Theyre a great car to start off with :) As for wheels, i recommend 15x7.5's of some sort, our pcd is 4x100 Make sure you fix up that rust otherwise it will spread like cancer, pretty much all the guys on here will agree with me that its better to fix the little bit of rust up now than to go through the headaches of patching up huge amounts of rust later on. A corolla RV has the spoiler youre after, head over to your local wreckers whip some tools out and youll be amazed with what little things you find to neaten these up, plus there is a huge JDM parts range if youre into little optional extras ;) Post some pics in the members ride section when youre ready champ, id like to see it -
Rip the interior out and add some buckets, thats the first thing any drifter should do lol Then wheels (not rotas) and chrome bumpers and get rid of that grille Then new suspension Add rust... this doesnt have enough rust to be a drift slut. True story. Oh and somewhere in there weld yo diff! EDIT: wait... didnt see a few posts up this is from Aug 2010. LOL

No worries man ;) Ah right, sounds good make sure you get some pics up when you get them Only the front has camber like that, but you have coilovers right? the tops should be adjustable on the front and as for the rear there should be grooves to slide the top of your hub along to adjust it, otherwise there is no rear adjustment unless you buy camber pins. Youll be surprised how much quicker it goes without any interior  -
Of course! just have to sort out a camera for the day, going shops on monday to buy said camera.... hopefully i can mount it somewhere, any ideas? And I may just have a surprise coming in the next week or so ;)

Agreed. I also prefer my car to be used, because thats what they're made for. But whenever i do see an older car, like this AE86 and your KE70, in such great original condition it really shocks me, as its the complete opposite to all the rusted out or drift pig condition that alot of these cars are usually in these days

Interesting build! car is looking really neat and tidy, and the AE112 wheels suit it very well. Love the paint!

Its better to have it as a trackable daily, you can enjoy the thing every day.. just as long as you keep it off the streets (most the time :ninja: ) Only one problem with this car though.... its gonna be too clean to race! lol :P Just noticed the spray putty now, nice! i think I'm gonna use it on my wheel well :)

Thanks man I actually havent been pulled over for any mods yet, including the seats, cops havent said anything and ive been through a lot booze buses in the last couple of weeks. Only picked on where i used to put my P-plates... I think to them its just some granny corolla with no interior... well, actually it kinda is... hahaha :P Just don't go through RWC with the seats and you should be right, only takes 5 minutes to change over ;) Ill have to check if these are ADR approved, but i doubt it as theyre fake, ill have a look in the morning :)

Hey man, nice car! reminds me of mine with the battery sticker on the front quarter. Just letting you know bigport cams are 250 degrees from standard, 246 would be a small step backwards ;) As for the idle, check out all of your vacuum lines, if one is missing the car will be idling rough or have bouncy revs Tyres are possible the best and cheapest modification you can get in an instant, they transform the car! :) what size did you go for? How close are those eunos wheels to hitting the rear strut? Welcome to FWD! lol Lift off oversteer will happen in most well balanced FWD, you have to drive accordingly, its very different to driving RWD and some AWD but you will get used to it.. basically go slow into the corner and fast out, gradually build up speed till you find the right balance, if the back is coming out floor it, if youre understeering tap the brake with your left foot while keeping that right foot down. Trick is to keep that right foot down to combat this oversteer, and be smooth! ;) As for setting the car up, larger rear sway bars will make the car turn in better but because of this the lift off oversteer will be much worse. I find that mine understeers the way that I drive it so I am going stiffer on the rear. We generally leave the fronts untouched More front camber will give the front better grip in the corners and is easily adjustable VIA the standard top strut bolt at the bottom of the strut, but tire wear will be an issue then The car shouldve came with a front strut brace, and the rear is stiff enough but if you like you can get a brace from Bazda thats made by Ultra racing. Quality bits ive heard :) Coilovers, tyres, CAI, and exhaust? Thats pretty much it for the budget mods, have you ditched all the interior? I saved a good 65kg by doing so ;) Just keep driving the car and get used to FWD for now, play around with the coilovers, shock settings make a world of difference -
Thanks mate, but it looks ALOT better in pictures than what it actually is though :P I agree, the S1 is definitely better looking... although i am somewhat biased :P Most likely, this car was pretty unique with the weird dodgey rust job it had done around the fuel cap... Also, thanks for inspiring me to clean up my car a little bit... That KE70 is really inspirational :) Shuddup you! :P lol EDIT: Forgot to mention, track day next week!! AWW YEA!!

Ben, why oh why must your cars be so clean? My dad and I still can't get over it! Never have i seen any car as clean as this in the flesh. Oh and have a look at this article, youll love it :) http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011/08/06/Toyota-corolla-ae86-with-48-original-KMS-found-time-capsule-.aspx

Dayum!! Not sure which is more surprising to me, the fact that i have never seen this much wiring before, or the fact that i have never seen one of these cars before! Props to you for keeping at it, with all this wiring i wouldve just rolled it to the electrician and thrown some money at him lol Gonna be intense with the 4EFTE in there!! How much do these weigh? And are they more similar to the starlet than the corolla?

Hey guys, Realised I have been signed up here for a while but never posted, thought id jump on after seeing a whole lot of rollaclub stickers today. The car I drive is an 1987 AE82 Twin Cam Corolla. I bought it off of a bloke who was about to turn it into a rally car, so i like to think that i saved it, but I'm kinda doing exactly what he was minus the gravel shenanigans and roll cage haha The plan is to basically have this as a trackable daily driver. Mods: - Bazda's STD Coilovers - 15x7 949Racing 6UL's wrapped in Kumho KU36 - Fake (haters gonna hate) Bride fixed back bucket seats - CAI - Straight thru rear muffler Heres how it looked when i bought it: [ And now it sits like this: Thanks

hahaha they look pretty cool, ol skool as... but i do prefer the rims without them. Yeah i was, I drive the little red AE82. :)
