You arent having much luck with this car are you? :( And I totally agree with your 3 points... especially the 3rd one haha

I doubt its a warped head, but i will be checking it for straightness. Pretty sure i just blew the gasket. On both motors they just used some cheap flimsy gasket in there, last motor even had a shim for some reason :S Considering its a 4AGE, I wasnt over revving it by any means :P haha i just gear changed down into second for a round about and as soon as i jumped on the throttle it popped. Gives me an opportunity to put a TRD gasket in (wont happen again!) and maybe some bigport cams ^_^ Should be on the road wednesday if there aren't any complications EDIT: In other news, the car will be returning to track spec as I'm Thinking of going to a test and tune on friday april 13 (ooh scary!! Lol) Pretty sure it Will be my only opportunity to track this thing till september as queens bday is right in the middle of my exams :( Long list of things to do by then (including putting the motor back together :P )

Oh dude I'm hearing ya! once you change one part the others get jealous and youre constantly trying to chase everything down. scumbag parts lol

Today I fitted the Whiteline rear sway bar, and man what a difference it makes! car handles really well now even with it being a touch too low and with rubbish tyres on. best mod, really happy with it and recommend it for any FWD car :D All was great until i was finishing up my test drive and blew my head gasket again on the way back.... ripped the head off it and here is the damage: It holds a new record: its been on the road for about 7 weeks which beats last time :P haha

Cars Coffee & Donuts - Complete 2012 Calendar
Subaru_kid replied to silverra23's topic in VIC / Melbourne
Got a few pics just as the meet was finishing up, pretty much just of the AE82 VIP corner :P I do have a few more i have to upload but i will leave them till later -
I noticed you took the stickers and side strips off. Will the black stickers be going back on with the bumper strips? I really liked the look of them, they finished the car off well. And your old AE82 was immac! low how you keep all your cars stock standard, its refreshing to see them being like that, they definitely stand out from the rest of the crowd even though they have 'nothing' done to them :) how were the ninjastars like in regards to keeping them so shiny? My gemini wheels get dirty so quickly and i need to polish them every couple of weeks, do you have any tips for keeping them clean apart from the obvious 'stop driving' answer? :P Nice to have a quick catch up with you on sunday mate, ill see you around.

Mine scraped bad when i had the stock blown shocks in at the front lol If you don't care about the guards a hammer covered in cloth or a baseball bat will do. If you do care, then hire a professional guard roller. Have a look on youtube ;) EDIT: don't forget to use a heat gun!

This. Then this. Then this. Then this. And this.

Rolla Bus Ae82 W/rebuilt 4agze (yet To Be Started)!
Subaru_kid replied to RollaBus_4agze's topic in Rollaclub Rides
So much effort and hard work put into this car. Even though its been off the road for such a long time and despite all the setbacks, I'm glad you didnt give up on it :) All the best with the rest of the build mate! -
I run mine with the lowest point of the car at 105mm for street use, little scraping with 205/50/15's, but with the 14's i have no issues... and they even poke on the rear :) But then again i have got rolled rear guards, also i took the top bolt off the splash guard and that solved all scrubbing from the front. it probabaly helps that i have coilovers which are stiff enough to take some bumps and not rub too badly :D Also agreed. Carbonboy's 82 is much more pov pack... haha

don't "hahahah." at the mighty AE82! :P they actually have a heap of potential if you get the right mods are done, they held the quickest time around sector 2 (the top section) at Bathurst for a few years until the AE92 came along. Throw a 4AGE in, thats best thing you can do! Put some pics up mate, it is a ride thread after all ;) There is a forum dedicated to them at: ae82.net

I went on a 800km or so return road trip this weekend in the mighty lunch box. The car did exceptionally well, no smoking, no overheating, no oil or water consumtion and best of all 6.9L/100km!! Engine has finally settled and is just ticking along nicely :D well, apart from one thing, o-ring in the dizzy has gone... I do need to raise it back up 20-25mm again as its scrubbing very badly on country roads (and handles like crap haha) Seat was a bit harsh and was lacking padding for long trips, so i had to make my own pillow with towels and stuff to avoid getting a numb bum an numb legs LOL!! While talking about my seats, I had a look at my Bride's tag this morning, and I'm now not too sure if they are legit or not considering the price i paid. I can't read the japanese on the tag apart from the english saying "Bride" and "Made in Japan"... made in Japan is a good sign right? :D Heres a couple of photos and a photo of the rear window before the return trip :P

Moar pics: And my favourite one:

I like your plans, now hurry up and finish this! :P BTW, I saw someone on another forum had bought some BBS meshies new for about $800 which isnt bad at all (not inc postage though) ill try and find the website for you

Judging by all this smoothening of everything, can i assume that you are going kinda for a VW clean and shaven look? Would be absolutely epic!! The car is going to be one of the cleanest 82's around... eventually :P Example: http://www.stancenation.com/2012/02/29/one-flawless-euro/

Thanks Tom :) The plan is, I'm going to enjoy the car as is in low crappy handling/street mode until april then its going back onto its track diet. Next on the list is the brakes. I am getting some braided lines and new pads in the next month or so. Also there is a clicking in the actual brake pedal whenever it passes a certain point. Is there a spring or a pin that goes in the top of the pedal or something that may cause this problem from being worn? Still need to fit my rear sway. And need to invest in longer studs. And a wheel alignment finally :P Then this car will bedabessss! Fingers crossed that my time dips into the 1:47's with all these changes... :D

grats on the boat licence  :P

Subtle change to the car, I ended up lowering it 20mm, but i will be changing it back on sunday, because it handles like crap! lol Also the exhaust suddenly sounds different, louder, pops more and its making heaps of fumes... pretty sure i didnt scrape it on anything, but I'm also pretty sure my cat isnt doing its job anymore lol

So I went for a drive in the morning and then came home and suddenly a wild interior appears along with some wheels? how odd. Why? Because street car.

Coilovers Or New Struts And Lowered Springs?
Subaru_kid replied to 89sedan's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
I have coilovers, my car is my daily and theyre great! theyre firm but i don't bounce off of the road, theyre proven to work on the track too -
"Sick day" eh? :P haha Car sounds great! can't wait to see you get this thing on the road!
