Hey man, i have a 4agze and yes the supercharger does only kick in, i believe at a certain throttle position... But the boost is deffinately not on all the time. 4agze are really good for everyday, mine uses next to nothing fuel, eats other cars and makes doggy doo outta hills. Very strong motors, would recommend them. Just a fore warning though, the speed does creep up, so if you don't have any demerits left, would not recommend

Hey, as you may know I am currently building a 1989 corolla sx. It has a 4agze supercharged mr2 conversion, which is getting on... try almost 200,000. I have a bigger crank pulley, to spin the charger quicker, i have had the flywheel lightened, i have genie extractors with a whopping 3 inch system. A top mount intercooler, soon to be front mount... But i still want/ need more. Now is there anything else, i can do to the motor in its stock computer to give it a bit more go. without rebulding the engine. If you have any ideas please let me know below. Thankyou James

its time to pull it out and go 4age POWER!!!:)
-
thanks gizzy, i will try something like the metal and see how it turns out.
-
Thanks gizzy, mmmmm, the problem is that i can't get to the back of the hole as it is in the rocker panel. :/ I'm just gonna have to bog ,...
-
Finally finished the back of the car. including boot, lid and back below the bumper. Next thing to tackle is that humongous, hole in the side, I'm thinking very slow amounts of bog, over a couple of days. ? Ill chuck a few more pics up. - any qu's just ask?
-
So as you can see, i have been busy with the body work, where i bogged up the crack, sanded, bogged, sanded, etc. Finally preped and painted, now looks sweeeet:D just the other side. Then i have one more/ major rust hole (check photos) in the side i have to fix, i believe it is a bit big for bogg, soo, may have to weld up another piece:/ but i will see. I know the image is poorly focused, but it is an idea. Let me know what you think ... James

did a heap of body work again over the weekend, as i had it up on the hoist and noticed a bit of damage, as i was sanding, it showed a heap of rust so i have been busy sanding, rustproofing and bogging, sanding etc.

hey paul, i am currently in the same progression. there are many posts of people doing the same, Mainly the only things you have to alter is the x member and the engine mounts. the hole where the shifter comes through also has to be cut futher back. You have to look at wiring too. james

I have now chosen my colour, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KDMRp7r-Lk , then name is ford orange. so far all i have been doing is bodywork, progress is slow as i am stuck trying to get my 4agze licsenced:( stinking law. I have the 4agze map sensored for the 35, i have the gearbox, engine mounts and some other fruit. Next thing i am going to do, is pull the 3k out with the box and give the gz a test fit. BUT i cannot do that until i get my corolla sx licsensed, so it may be put off again:?

What the old girl looks like now ;) have a look http://www.freeimagehosting.net/3krvv

Thanks man, i have had a look:) the only thing i am doing differently is the fact that i have a factory made kit to go from the k series engine mount to a 4agze engine mount, needing no inginuering there. For the gearbox i have a t50, my only problem is the x member, what car did you use yours out of? Thanks James

Hey, Alright i have finally come across a desicion of that i am going to put the map sensored 4agze that i have into my ke35. It has 122xxx kms and has upgraded cams and some other stuff. I have done the body work, just need to pull the 3k out and get the bay painted. • I have a couple of grand$$. • It gets done when, when its done. • I have access to welding and grinding/ fabrication. • I have access to automotive electrical. Anything else? I have searched alot of 4age's into the ke35/55 but if anyone has any hints or things to wathc out for? i would love to know it. :)

ok thanks man, i will give him a bell and see whatt he says.
-
hey Spencer, can you chuck up the details for that panelbeater please. I wanna give him a ring and ask him to come have a look at my ke35 . Thanks man, looks good too. Good luck for the future

http://www.rollaclub.com/board/gallery/image/8364-4k-turbo-system/ um i actually scored the gear off my father who had it running in his suzuki, he rebuilt it about 10 years back but never put it back in the car the motor has just been stored so I'm thinking about doing some head work to it. It usually ran baout 8 psi he believes and it had an su system which is all still there.

Hey, I have got a 1975 toyota ke 35 corolla coupe, and have a rebuilt 4k turbo, which i have to get some things done to. I was just wondering what does the 4k motor need done to go into the body. It has a 5 speed and i know that the motor will mount straight in. But i need some guides as i want to get the flywheel lightened and to what weight. ? Um, one other thing that was pestering me was the fact that i heard someone say something about the 3k alternator was needed to be used as well as water pump? Please leave me anything that needs doing? James

Sounds like a good project and yes the easiest conversion would be a 4k or 5k with the 5speed on the back, personally a 4k with su carbs is the qucikest and doesnt require much modding and gives the girl a heap more go. As I have just done it to my ke35 coupe, Good luck

hey ke70 dave, ive gotta 4k turbo motor which has been rebuilt previouously but i dunno wether to go for a 4age conversion or to try put a 2jz in it. The 4k turbo has only done 10,000ks but has sat for 13 years under a roof.
-
hey, I have recently been thinking what engine to put into my ke35 coupe and have just thought of a 2jzgte out of a supra or a 7mgte. Does anybody know if this is possible and wether anyone has done it before? I'm also wondering wether i should spend money on a 4age conversion or wether to go with a 4k turbo. I just also ponder wether i would ever be able to get a 2jz licesences and wether i have to chop all the firewall tunnel away? ResponseS? James
