Update: Went to look at/drive a mild 5K package today (as found on rollaclub) couldn't resist buying it... EDITED - took photo's off. Tax sucks
  4. Sorry guys i didn't realise when i post on KE70.com it automatically appears on rollaclub, posted my ride twice!
  5. Name: Tom Car: KE70 bought this week for $1100. 232,000kms Motor & Driveline: stock 4K, 5 speed (factory), soon to be mild 5K Suspension & Brakes: Standard, cut springs only a matter of time... Wheels & Tyres: Stockies with chrome trims and whitewalls to come... Check out my project thread - looking for opinions on the Datsun 200B 14" wheels which i used to have on my red KE70 as i have a set available for free! The best kind of available!! Interior: Blue (everything!) and standard but in very good condition overall. Pioneer head unit & 6x9's, daggy seat covers and my classic steering wheel which has been on 7 or 8 KE Rolla's in the past... It's home again Body: Pretty freakin good for it's age - check out my thread under rides/projects Other: Just loving havin another KE rolla, this one was a good find too! Its had heaps spent on it recently, all good stuff like new radiator, bearings, master cylinder, tyres, cd and 6x9's, tinted windows, was a bargain! Plans are budget Uni student type stuff - cut springs, whitewalls, 5K which i'm hopefully buying tomorrow, just enjoy driving it!
  6. My hat goes off to you sir, tis a beautiful thing!! Looks awesomely better with the whitewalls man, top work! Look forward to seeing it round Radelaide soon man Tom

And more..... Apologies again for shitty mobile phone quality photos 20 Bucks at K-Mart goes a long way..... 4 mats and covers for the fronts, daggy i know but saves the tear getting any worse... Adjusted the clutch and tuned it up, Fish-Oiled the whole thing and shmicked up the interior... Some awesome things of note: * All seals door, boot and window seals are intact and not perished * Insides of doors are perfect with only a little rust on the bottom edge of passenger front and driver rear doors * Sill panels are not dented or rusted!! * Carpet is completely cleanable and even the drivers protector mat is intact with only tears on the outside edge! * Hoodlining and sunvisors are immaculate, only one small tear in passenger door trim * All electronics work perfectly So that's probably about it for now until lowering/whitewalls or a 5K... Need a LH Stanley headlight, blue glovebox lid with hinge, Boss kit SAAS pattern and 4 good chrome wheel trims if anyone has any... will post on wanted ads later on.... Still open to comments on the 200B wheels as an option... :D This car rocks my world... :)

More shots... Sorry about crap quality - mobile phone photo's! The Blue... I must admit i'm gettin used to it. It is ridiculously clean - no rips in trims, carpets, hoodlining, it's actually almost immaculate! Dash has a couple decent cracks though... 4K runs well for 232k kms, no smoke or major rattles. Might not matter anyway....5K? Never seen one of these before... Nasty....gettin done soon More rust....not so bad though, fish oil... Ding... thats the worst of it though... The first mod...except the boss kit was off my AE101R hatch, so it sits really far out - can't reach my indicators and i've lost the self cancel!!! Anyone got a SAAS pattern boss kit for a KE rolla? So might be lookin at a mild 5K today, that should be interesting... More to come!

Hi guys thanks for the positive comments and numerous funnies! A nice hour long drive home and it drives a bloody treat - steering and suspension are very tight! A couple small issues but it's really very cruisy and having owned countless 4 speed KE rolla's, I'm quite chuffed to have found a 5 speed! - and a short, concise nod in return! Thanks man - you're right it is very straight! There is a couple waves in the rear doors and small creases in the bonnet, but the rear and front guards, front doors, roof, sills and boot are sweet arses! As for wheels - I am asking for comments on this as a possibility.... My old KE70 lowrider, bought it for $50 bucks off my cousin with a blown head. Slapped an import 4K, front King springs and chopped rears and away we went. Was good for many a burnout... For those who are wondering, (and most wouldn't guess) they're Datsun 200B 14" wheels and my cousin has 4 perfect sandblasted and painted ones just sitting around..... It did look rather tough 5 years ago, but... I was keen on the stockies, chrome trims and whitewalls but i'm open to taking opinions on the matter... Will post more pics and stuff tomorrow

Hi All, Haven't been on for a while as i was driving an SV21 camry wagon, but screw that i thought yesterday morning.... Jumped on the net and look what popped up.... Got it for $1,100 Advertised the camry at 12, sold it at 6, pickin up the KE70 tonight! The good: 4K 5 speed New radiator and brake master cylinder No serious rust or dents, a bit of surface rust on the panel creases though 232k kms but it's been pretty well looked after - female owners CD with 6X9's Tinted windows in very good nick Bumpers are straight and not warped Interior is pretty damn clean apart from tear in drivers seat The Bad: The interior is blue. All of it. Everywhere. Spew I pity the fool who painted the stockies white Clutch feels a bit sloppy The plans: It's just a daily for a poor uni student, but i'll be cutting them springs asap, painting the stockies silver, whitewalls and get some better chrome trims, some general painting and polishing, put my steering wheel on it and just enjoy it! More Pics to come.... Tom :)
  11. Beautiful car Gav, you continue to inspire me and i'm sure many other people on this forum! Love the racing stripes, original and cool as! Keep up the good work!
  12. The cheapest, easiest and probably safest way to do it (failing buying pre-made springs) is getting the original springs re-set by a suspension specialist - it's the best way to gaurantee you get the height you want too. Angle grinder is cheap but if you want handling and safety i woulnd't go there.... Alternatively, try other brands of spring (K-Mac, KING SPRINGS, Pedders etc).
  13. Yeah neither had i till i had a look at the map, they're up by the NSW border (North East of the State).
  14. Ladies and Gentlemen, Does anyone know if the first Corolla into Australia is still alive? I know a while ago Scott (ROL-110) was using engine or chassis numbers to find out the oldest corolla on Rollaclub, but there must still be so many more hidden around the country.... I just heard an interesting story - apparently an old gentleman in SA (Olary or Manna Hill, apparently lives at an old bakery across from a scungy house full of old wrecks) has a Corolla off of the first shipment, 12,000 miles from new. Apparently he's fully enclosed it in a bricked up old bakery room (4 brick walls, no entrance)!! Evidently he wanted to make sure "no-one else got their hands on it"!! Can anyone validate this story?
  15. OMG are those cars all in the same place?!?! Is it a museum or something? Man i would go to japan just to go there and see those corolla's and corona's!! Drool.... Ckeck the black KE25 with the flares

Hey mate clear paint works ok for a while, but once it's been in the sun for a while it tends to yellow and crack off, and removing it to re-coat is practically impossible! Try a light cutting compound polish and ideally an electronic buffer - otherwise do it by hand. It's slow work and you have to be careful with "heavy cut" polishes as they leave it looking pale and milky, but the right polish and a bit of hard work and they should come up brand new.
  17. None of these dream cars are ridiculous or expensive enough!! 1. KE10/11 shell on 2 door WRC corolla 4WD chassis, widened 12-inch rims with hubcaps, remove all badges, body strips, move petrol filler to boot and smooth over the filler lid and door handles, say no more..... 2. KE26 or KE38 four door wagon, 20 valve 4AGE turbo, watanabe's, lowered as far as it possibly can be. Sweeeeeeeeeeet
  18. Does anyone know of anybody running k-series motors in open wheelers? I've seen some hillclimb cars running 4K's which are apparently capable of sub-11 second times... However these motors are usually rebuilt every few months as they are worked to the eyeballs!!
  19. Hey Scott just so you know you can legally register a KE11 with up to a 5K in South Australia without changing brakes or suspension. I'm not sure about the early car with 2K (1100cc) motors, but anything with a 3K can legally go to 4K or 5K. The law states that (on standard brakes and suspension) any conversion can't be more than 30% more powerful than the standard motor, so technically an internally modded 5K should even get through regency so long as it doesn't have massive twin webers hanging off it. Does your car have discs on front? If so that may pose a problem with regency if it hasn't been engineered......
  20. Drool.... Man that is immaculate! Can't wait to see the progress!! How many K's are on the clock? I'm looking at a KE38 myself soon, i'll post up pics if i get it! Love wagons! Tom
  21. Hey guys, Just thought i'd tell you this story as it goes to show how helpful Rollaclub is to Corolla owners - in Australia or Overseas. I've just sold some KE10 parts to Michiel (Rollaclub Member) who lives in Amsterdam. It was as simple as me working out postage prices, having money deposited into my account and sending the stuff via air-mail. I'm happy as i got the money, and michiel is happy as he has shiny new headlights for his KE10 which are apparently rare as in Amsterdam. None of this would have been possible without Rollaclub forums, so Michiel and I would like to thank and congragulate all the people who make Rollaclub happen. This site is a valuable resource for Corolla owners and drivers - it's fun and easy to negotiate, it's full of useful knowledge and members who know Corolla's inside-out, you can ask questions and people aswer them with enthusiasm, and it makes networking easy! Cheers, Tom
