  1. Yeah it is a shame on that. But it's all steady around the damper so it doesn't affect it in any way... yet.
  2. Got some more decent pictures taken today. This is the only bad patch of rust on the car, rear passenger side. Oh and the rear bumper is made of rust rather than metal aswell.
  3. Finally got around to wash the car today :D But i didn't take any pics sadly... Also got the car through inspection this friday so now I'm allowed to drive another year with it. Tho I'm gonna put it off "road use" for a few months now until the winter since i got 2 cars and it's quite expensive to pay for both when i don't need to. But i've noticed there are huge problems with starting the car. You really have to saw on the starter for many minutes (interval ofc) before it eventually starts. Tho it runs fine when it does get going. And i removed that black tape on the back under the trunk and there was nothing there so i can't really work out why it was there in the 1st place, but i presume it was keeping water out of the rear lights or something.
  4. Questions: Where do you check what cylinder is in TDC when adjusting? Are there markings somewhere or just look through spark plug holes? :D How do you turn/crank the engine the easiest way when doing this?
  5. Well initially i was thinking upon placing a 4A-GE in there you got a good base if you then would want to turbocharge that engine. And i really don't see the point in spending big money on a tiny 1.3l engine to get it up to 150 strained bhp when you can just do an engine swap for one that does that stock. But it's just the matter of finding a drive shaft and rear axle that fits. And then i would have to have new suspension aswell cause i wouldn't put much faith into the stock parts atm, not that they are bad but its just so soft :D My other car, the Peugeot 406 has Koni adjustable dampers on it so that's rock solid compared to this car. Still that supercharger thing sounded a bit interesting... :D Yes the upper hinge pin wasn't tightened and moved about a little, the lower one had been replaced with a simple bolt, which was easier to work with. Passenger side was alright tho, only the driver side that was a bit worse. I haven't really done anything to the car now for a few days cause i was thinking I'm gonna go get it through M.O.T before i start ripping some bigger parts off. Just today i went and got the owner's papers in my name for it so as of today it's officially mine :D
  6. After seeing this i wanna open my engine too to see how it looks :D But i'm gonna eventually. You can reuse the seal for the cover right? Or does it HAVE to be a new one?
  7. Concerning cutting the front springs... Yes i know it's a very bad thing to do and blaha blaha... But let's forget that now. Does anyone know approx how much cutting 1 coil(1 ring) would lower? I'm not out to make it scrape the ground, i just want to make it "lower". I know i can't cut too much either cause the dampers are so damn soft that when you hit the brakes the front end of the car dips down like 20 cm :D
  8. Right, i figured there'd be something like that. Well there is 2 small holes on the drum so maybe it would work to force it out like that, i'll have a go at that.
  9. I was gonna remove the rear brake drum today to clean out and tension the handbrake. The driver's side went all fine but the passenger side i couldn't get the drum loose. Everytime i pulled it it was like it feathered right back with a spring or something. I tried bending it with a screwdriver and hitting it with a hammer from the inside but no luck, cause the entire drum is loose and moves out and in about 1 or 2 centimeters but it just won't let go. Is it just the handbrake band that's too tight against the drum so it won't move or is there something else i don't know about?
  10. I don't know if there are specific cars they are in, the one on the picture is from a Wagon, but there are lots of 2 door 1.3l that have them also, but not everyone. And this is Europe we're talking about too.
  11. They look like this: I'm currently looking around to see if i can get a hold of one.
  12. I have no idea what's under that thing :D I havent dared to take it off yet xD And I'm glad you all like it :)
  13. Got some more pictures for ya! There had only been 2 owners on the car since it was new and that was an old man and his wife and they've apparently had the car in a warm garage pretty much it's entire life. Tho it has 'rolled quite a distance. Indicated 248.000 km atm. And yes it's just dirt on it so it should look better when cleaned. The engine was ticking a bit tho so ill have a look at that someday to adjust the valves unless its worn down so bad it wouldn't make a difference. And the clutch was also at max tension already and it gripped quite high up on the pedal but it didn't slip any from what i could gather, but it'll probably need changing sooner or later. If i could just find a garage to keep it in so i could work on it properly i would be a happy man. A mate of mine has the same problem so we were thinking if we found a place to keep 2 or more cars in we would rent it.He's into old Opel's tho (Vauxhall/Holden, whatever you call them :D )
  14. There's a certain gauge cluster for the KE70 that has the Economy gauge above water temp/fuel that goes back and fourth. My car doesn't have that, but if i were to switch to a board that does have it, would it just be a matter of hooking it up to the engine then? Cause if other cars have it they ought to just have the hole where it measures it plugged right?
  15. Yes indeed it's a 2 door :) With a black/white interior! Been searching quite a while to find one. I wanted exactly this red color too.
  16. Having a 1st lookaround of the car today as i bought it late last night and it was a bit dark :D Tried to fix the driver door alignment but it didn't really go all the way. Got slightly better but i think i have to remove some more stuff to get to a few more screws. Also been polishing up the + and - battery connectors now since they were quite corroded. All better now tho :)
  17. Heheh, we'll see :D
  18. Righto, joining the KE70 club as of tonight :D Just bough myself a bone stock KE70 Sedan that's in very good condition but a few things that need to be attended too. Is meant to be a project car and I'm also gonna drive it during wintertime this year when its snowy and slippery, so the 4K-C should keep up :P Might end up putting a 4A-GE into it cause that would be a lot of fun but I'm not sure i can handle all the technical stuff that comes with that yet.
  19. Yeah i know, just though i'd get some quick and direct answers first, and i do believe i know most of it already. Still there's so damn much info that it's easier to keep it in your head with straight answers instead of reading it somewhere and not being 100% sure what you find is the right thing. I've been learning all about Peugeot's engine stuff for a year or 2 now and i've pretty much got all that sorted up, but that seemed easy compared to this, since there's a lot more parts for various cars involving Toyota and these particular KE70, especially when you have to start thinking crosswise what fits from what car to another.
  20. Okay, great answers :) So where do i find a K50? (what car?) And then just take the flywheel off of that engine along with the box and bolt onto the 4K? Forgot to ask, what can the original rear axle of the KE70 take? I guess a 4AGE would skin it alive? Also i've noticed a lot of people run the KE70's with Nissan S13 parts such as brakes, coilovers and the likes. I'm guessing it can't be that hard to make some of that fit then? Anyone around here that knows something about that?
  21. 1. What is the name of the standard KE70 Sedan gearbox that's fitted to the 4K-C? The 4 speed one. T40 or K40? (is there even a K40?) 2. What 5 speed box would you be able to fit onto the 4K engine? Would the T50 work? Do you have to rebuild anything to make it fit? 3. What rear axle that can handle the bhp could you use if you were to put for ex. a 4AGE engine in it? Would the same axle hold up if you turbocharge the 4AGE and pull about 250 bhp out of it? And I'm presuming the T50 bolts staight onto the 4AGE. 4. How much can the standard 4K-C drive shaft handle?
