  1. Okay so hate to be a pain here but i can't find anywhere that tells me how to replace the valve stem seals? Noob question I'm sure but hey thats what i am haha. Turns out there were new ones in the glove box when i got the car so I'm gonna head down that track. Once ive got the head off what do i do from there? Learning so much doing all this which is great. Details on how to go about this would be awsome! I do have a fair bit of mechanical know how but not in this area. Thanku in advance!
  2. ill try a few things you have mentioned. thanks heaps for all the helpful replies. ill let you know how i go. doing my head in!
  3. not head gasket, i only just put new one in. do they always blow air out oil cap do they?? jezz haha i don't remember my last ke doing that years ago.. so quite a bit?? coz as i said oil fricken went everywhere when i was putting it in while it was running hahaha. yea i was thinking that about having the rad out. cheers for that
  4. Howdy been looking around and can't find an answer to my question.. basically just put a new radiator in my ke70 (bog stock 4k), not blocked or anything like that.. started her up and all fine no leaks etc. turned car off and opened the radiator cap after being running for about 20 seconds and there was a huge amount of air which came out when the cap came off. sort of like opening a soft drink if u cud imagine.. anyway thats the first thing.. didnt think much of it so started her up again and opened the oil cap to top up oil and there was air pumping out continuiously. havnt come across this before, so bad that i cudnt top up oil with it running without wearing it.. now are these two things (build up of pressure in radiator after being running for only 20secs and air pumping from oil hole) related and what is causing it?? water pump shagged?? not too sure, help is greatly appreciated, cheers guys!
  5. okay sweet as, yea i know where i can get a second hand one so ill get on that asap. thanks lads :y:
  6. okay cheers for that mate, yea i threw my radiator out coz it was leaking like a siv so looking to buy new one. ill ring and ask if he could get one maybe. anyone else have any1?
  7. Howdy just wondering if any one knows of a good place in Adelaide to buy a new radiator for a 4k that is not gonna kill the bank balance? cheers  simon.
  8. cheers appreciate all the helpful info will get onto it! :hmm:
  9. yea i was thinking it would be something to do with the dizzy. The spark plugs are in the right order but the dizzy may be a tooth out which makes sense. i thought the dizzy could only fit in one way tho and turn from there? the dizzy wouldnt be 180degrees out would it otherwise it would be round the other way yea? i had turned the crank so the pistons were all in line to slip the dizzy back in, this is probs what has thrown everything out I'm assuming now.. where do i go from here to get the timing closeish to at least start it? take the dizzy out and start again?
  10. Okay so I've taken the head off the 4k to change a few things, taken extractors and carbie plus manifold off and all back on now, problem is now when I go to start it it turns over but pops really loud, from the carbie I think and extractors back firing kind of but won't start?! Now I did take the diZzy off so it's not in original spot so obviously timing would be a bit out but still thought it would at least start. Any ideas what would be causing it to pop loudly like this and not start? Started up fine last time I took the head off. Any help would b great, cheers!
