  1. I checked, it says '86. Its a E-EL31-KGMXT which is ranged from 86 to 88 apparently. It's had the front bumper replaced at some stage from a newer model.
  2. Itching to get my EL31 registered but, as alway, everytime the mail man delivers, there's a new reason to spend money elsewhere. FML

  3. Love it man. Well done. I actually like the black bumpers on the yellow. Might just be me and my Bumble Bee fetish.
  4. Thanks mate, I appreciate it. All I need really is indicators/parkers for the front bumper and tail lights if available. If I wanted to be really picky, theres a piece of trim missing from in between the front guard and the bumper on the passengers side, right next to the headlight. And as for the compliance plate, I've never actually looked at it. Kind of embarassing really lol.
  5. Cheers man, they are getting pretty rare these days. I'd dare say I've read most of the posts on your too. Do you still own it??

  6. unless i can get a roadworthy and rego in 10 days, I will have to send my apologies. And I'm going to go ahead and assume that attending in my stock bug eye subaru would be frowned upon. lol
  7. a thing of beauty mate. Love it.
  8. I'm freshly married, and at this stage, I don't believe she would try to take my cars. But I have said to her, if it come down to it, we'll either be civil and split it fairly, or I'll set everything alight and neither of us get anything.
  9. Took a trip to see my mate Dave at Wholesale Car Parts Australia in Archerfield. Picked up some bits to play with, got a Levin Steering wheel and AISIN 38T25 Brake Calipers and rotors, also got some front indicators from a Chaser front bar just to see if they'll fit. Should keep me occupied for a little while on the weekend. Also found that EA falcon tail lights have the same angle and width needed in the indicator for the front bumper, so I got two from the wreckers and cut the brake light off the top, with a little light persuasion, they should fit nicely. Pics to come.
  10. All the dash bits back in. All the yellow gone. Moved gauges from the top of the dash to the console, a little less conspicuous. Have to replace water temp gauge as it's stopped working. It was a mechanical thick copper wire version anyway. I like the electrical ones with thin wires that are easier to work with. DVD head unit, momo gear knob, factory pedal rubbers and floor mats all stolen from my deceased EP82. trying to steal as many parts as possible so it can live on. My Wife is a gifted resin jewellery maker so i have hired her to make me a custom blue horn button, hence the lack of steering wheel.
  11. After some investigation, I found it was the earth on the battery that was causing the starting problem. Starts every time now. Still need a distribution block for the positive terminal mess. So two full days of work this weekend, interior all out and cleaned and gauge positions finalised hopefully. Stereo in if I have time. Photo's on here Sunday.
  12. KE18 = Amazing.
  13. ditto. I heard something about it in a thread but can't remember where they said it was held.
  14. Cheers for the comments fellas. Yeah its definitely different, it's just a shame this model is SO different that I can't find parts for it anywhere. Any rare spares supplier suggestions?? Yes it was for sale on boost, and here, and gumtree. And the power figures are a little hard to believe. True or not, it seems well built and with a bit of a clean up, should do me just fine for daily/weekend track duties. Update with pics this weekend. was too cold weekend just gone, my hands wouldn't work frozen. Managed to relocate the boost and oil pressure gauges to a less conspicuous position. Left the water temp where it is as i might look into replacing it with a Celcius gauge. My brain doesn't work in fahrenheit.
  15. Cheers Cameron. Very informative. You are the first person I have spoken to that has been in this car when it was tuned properly. Yes i did get build receipts with it but like I said earlier in the thread, took the HP claims with a grain of salt seeing as I haven't seen a dyno printout. There is an unmarked button on the console thats directly hooked up to the haltech, I'm yet to get a pin diagram for the computer and figure out what it does but this could possibly be the launch control you speak of. The guy I bought it from was no help with this. But what driving I have done in it so far, it does promise to be a bit of a handful. I'll have to have a hunt around and see if i can find some footage or a write up of it being in power cruise. Cheers for that.
  16. should have an update with pics for this over the weekend. Will be taking the alternator out for refurb or replacement, brand new battery is flat already so I reckon this is to blame. I'll see if I can find a distribution block for the battery relocation as it looks shit just all hanging off one bolt with electrical tape around it (not how I would have done it). Also want to move the circuit breaker closer to the battery just in case. Might take a trip to autobarn and grab a catch can seeing as both the breathers in the rocker cover are just hoses leading to nowhere. So if I get these things done, i'll throw the dvd head unit and stereo bits from the starlet in to fill up the holes and have a look at relocating the aftermarket gauges from the top of the dash to somewhere more subtle and Constable friendly.
  17. apologies for the unrelated nature of this post....but in the second picture, is that a silver ke50? Rare as. Hope the owner still has it.
  18. get well soon mate. great post. really enjoying your build.
  19. Mate. Spectacular stuff. your attention to detail is outstanding. A prime example of a car any modifier could be proud of without attracting the wrong kind of attention. Good work boss.
  20. The last car I had on the track was a EP82 Starlet. Did a 1.08@QR sprint. Not a corolla, but at least its a toyota.
  21. yeah, i'll speak to him soon and see what he wants to do. I'm sure his old man would be keen to get it out of his yard.
  22. Unfortunately its sitting in his yard and hasn't moved in a good three years. He was into AE86's at the time and wanted the engine and box. But then he joined a band, sold his Sprinters and bought a van to lug all his band shit around in. So its just sitting there rusting at his Dad's place. I've been tempted a few times to call a tow truck and steal it back. If only I had a decent shed to store it in. Far too rare of a car to just let sit there.
  23. Mate. Top Job. I know first had how much effort goes into keeping this model on the road. Don't know about where you are, but here in Queensland, they simply do not exist. This is mine that i sold to my brother in law a few years back. It had a bigport 4age, supra box and shortend ford diff. awesome car and i miss it terribly. So my advice is don't sell and don't crash. lol Yours is the first one i've seen in years. Best of luck with it mate.
  24. Yes more than likely. I saw it on boostcruising and instantly took the horsepower claim with a grain of salt. There is also a claimed quarter mile time getting around too. But anyway, went for a look and even with a few years of neglect, it runs really well. Someone has spent some money at some stage but I won't be claiming any figures until I have dyno sheets or lap times to back it up. Really looking forward to spending some quality time on this one.
  25. yeah those round lights i just had lying around, they were dummy fitted in there. I do have the originals, but they are shabby and replacements are like hens teeth. Going to keep looking for them along with parkers and indicators. The front bar on it now is off an 89 model apparently so the indicator and foglight setup is larger. still just as rare in this country though. But hey, we drive older cars, finding parts is what we do.
