  1. great new mate. can't wait to see pics. and maybe even hear it over christmas. speak soon.
  2. Jeez mate, thats no good. At least they didn't find the mad little car under the house hey? lol
  3. A mate of mine tagged me in this photo from powercruise. It's an EP71 which is pretty much the same engine bay as my EL31. I wish my engine was that pretty. Love a closer look if anyone knows the owner.
  4. Glad this makes you happy. Send me your address and we'll get it under way.
  5. Mate, I've only driven mine around the block so far. But, the original owner built it for drag racing. He had the haltech tuned with antilag activated and the shiftlight goes off at nine thousand so I'm assuming it's going to be fairly laggy. Time will tell. Just out of curiosity, do you know a guy called Leon with a red RX2 sedan? He sent me the link to your video that was on the news when it happened. Wicked stuff.
  6. Member Name Andrew Area between Bellbowrie and Hamilton Car Impreza RS and EL31 Corolla II
  7. Mate, I leave for Navy recruit school on the 19th. So it's either going to be done next week or never. Just hope it doesn't rain too much this week.
  8. This. Is. Sweeeet.
  9. I don't know how I missed this thread when you refreshed it last week!! I know this fella with a couple of these under his house. One of which has the same engine conversion as yours. I also happen to know he'd probably sell it to you for a carton and towing costs. haha Get into it mate. see if you can beat me to rego. haha Mould on fabric... one of those steam cleaners perhaps??
  10. I'm getting closer, need tyres, two driveshaft boots, coolant leak fixed, and... call me old fashioned, but an exhaust with mufflers in it and a wastegate attached to the main pipe . Made some good progress today, starting to look like a car again. Can't wait to actually drive it somewhere. Anywhere.
  11. Nope. Different one. I was refering to this...
  12. Yeah Tom, I've seen that yellow car before somewhere. If it's the same one, it's got a 20v in it. I'd love to pick the owner's brain a little. If you've got somewhere to store it mate, we can work something out as it didn't cost me much. And I'm nearly done getting out the stuff I need. Even when i'm done, it will still be a running and rolling car. Very true, but it worked out in the end. Even though the lights are considerably larger, with the white car's bumper fitted, everything lined up perfectly and it looks 100% better. You wouldn't be happy with my body work on the bumper, but it will do me just fine. haha Yeah it is almost too good for a parts car. All I did was swap the distributor and leads out of my EP82 wreck and it runs perfectly. winner.
  13. nice progress bro. Hope your cousin's condition gets better.
  14. yeah, I didn't notice until I tried to swap them. The whole bumper on the white car is lower and has a nice line that compliments the GP side skirts. So I painted it matte black and fitted it. Looks good, lights are perfect and clean. If it wasn't raining cats and dogs yesterday arv, i would have taken some shots. Update next couple of days with interior progress too.
  15. busy day today, took delivery of the white Toyota Corsa. Big thanks to Rosscoe for selling at such a good price, Tom'sGPTurbo for bringing the add to my attention, and Door to Door Car Freight for getting it to my door in one piece. I felt this car deserved a little dignity before I mercilessly ripped it apart for the sake of another car. So I spent an hour or so washing all the excess crap off and took a few photos. Not bad really, would have been a fun car in it's day. It's the little things that show it had an owner that cared about it at some point. like all the little trim bits that my black car is missing. Any way, got to dismantling. though i'd start with the front and work my way back. and here's the photo of my black car back together. This is the first time this car has had all of its lights working for a very long time. note the clear lense headlights from the corsa also. Such an 80's smile. Fog lights are yellow which i don't know if i like yet. Got interrupted by work stuff at this point and didn't get as much done as I'd have liked. Flying to Hong Kong tonight. Back to it late afternoon, had a crack at the Corsa's rear lights to see if they'd fit. Turns out they are quite a bit larger... Corolla 2 on the left, Corsa on the right. So i'll have to change the rear bumper to get them to fit. Apart from the front seats, the interior is really tidy too. The dash's only blemish is where the usual aftermarket boost gauge would have been. Will all have to wait until I get back from HK though. Can't wait to get home and get back into it. Like a kid with a new toy.
  16. Bought another EL31 as a parts car from Rosscoe in Kempsey. Complete car so hopefully will have all the little bits and bobs I need to finish mine off. The things I'm most excited about are the front indicators/parkers that i've been searching for months for (so glad I held off on chopping my front bar up to fit something else), another full interior complete with back seat and factory steering wheel, '91 model rear bumper which has an extra part that matches the shape of the side skirts well, and all the other bits that don't exist anywhere like door locks and window washer squirters and stuff. Keen as, haha
  17. a thing of beauty my friend.
  18. Damn. I was thinking of doing an army green on mine. Guess I'll have to rethink that now. lol
  19. Parts car purchased. Bit of rust but has a mod plated 4efte, AND A FUN TOP!!!! Plan is to pull off the bits I need and fk it off. So if anyone wants a cheap 4efte, hit me up, as I now have two.
  20. WMMH: Killing two birds with one stone by going to Hong Kong next week. A) Making my wife uncontrollably happy = doing nasty, nasty things to her without chloroform or "roofies". haha kidding, but seriously :| B) Potentially visiting an amazing parts supplier in singapore.
  21. enjoyed reading all of this. I bought my EP82 with 17x7.5 wheels on it, changed them for 14x7. The car somehow felt more lively with only a small weight difference between wheels. Perhaps the weight being more central in a smaller wheel has an effect also?
  22. those quads look excellent mate.
  23. I'm pretty jealous man, good find.
  24. I dare say it might be. Pitty it only goes up and down my driveway at the moment.
