Yeah nah it's completely different colour. I'm painting it black. I have to paint the inside of the doors aswell because ke30s have a strip ofthe body on top of the door trim

G'day guys. Just got a few questions just need some opinions. Ive got a ke30 project and I'm about to start sanding it back because it's hail damaged and paint just all up in the shit. Anyways is it worth ripping the interior out now before I paint it as their are some little bits when the door closes on the body that are the body colour if thats makes sense. Or should I just mask it when I paint it? And also I need a new top dash part. It's all cracked. Does anyone know of any wreckers in melbourne. Or infect anywhere. That would have one? Thanks guys. All answers will be appreciated

hey guys, i thought id better start keeping you guys updated on the progress on the little beast, ill give you a bit of back ground info, its a 1978 ke30 4 door, it cost me 600, its hail damaged, and had major rust which is now gone since yesterday, its just got the 3k in it which was imported from japan because the original blew, its runs quiet well. i think thats about it, ill put up a few pics of what ive done in two weeks, and i will be keeping everyone updated. also the two rust spots I'm posting are on the bonnet and the major one was on the back left structural point which is now gone.

Do they sell dollys at bunnings? And do you reckon I'll need to use it for the other panels? Also one more quick opinion. How should I go about the engine bay? Just paint as much as I can or...
-
Yeah the hail screwed a lot of melbournians over I think. Yeah well I'm thinking of actually taking off the front two quarter panels. It will be a lot easier to sand and bog. Do you reckon I can try to knock out the dints on the roof? Or is that not reccommended? Well I'm starting on the main surface rust this weekend. It's rusted right through on a rear support beam. Using fibre glass. Hopefully if works out alright

hey guys, I'm fabian, i live in rowville, south east suburbs, i bought a 1978 ke30 sedan last week, needs a lot of work but will be worth it
-
yeah i know what ya mean what ke did ya have? the one i bought is hail damaged as well, its got some major rust also so its a bit of work on the body, as for the engine, I'm happy with the 1.2 for now. as long as i can get the thing on the road ill be happy because its fairly hail damaged, i live in rowville and the cars from rowville also so you could imagine the body, but mostly the roof. nah i like that quote, I'm a man of quotes, i like by them so that will help me, patience is the key, as for me i only get 1 day a week max to work on it so even if i wanted to rush, i wouldnt be able too.
-
Yeah well by the sounds of it I'd be looking at the 5k as Id like to do the least amount of work as possible. I don't need a 10 sec car. Just something with a bit of get up and go kinda thing. But it's gonna be a while till that. Gonna focus on the body and interior first. Yeah sounds like you've done a few projects your self? Are you a mechanic? What happened to your Ke? And where about are you on the east suburbs? Just one thing. Let me get this straight. You like v8s and fours? Personally I ain't a v8 person. Barely a 6 person Flat fours do it for me.
-
Oh ok fair enough. I wouldn't be doing that. I wanted to put something in there reasonably quick. But yeah I suppose an sr20 or v6 would just be ridiculously powerful for the weight of the car. Are there any Major differences with the 4age and 5k? Besides the 5 k being a lot cheaper. They are easy engine to work with arnt they? What do you drive/work on?
-
So is that a general rule or a Victorian law? Would the 4age give it enough?
-
Yeah well that's it. Personally. I need to be able to find a lot of information and see what works and doesn't work because I know a little buy not a lot. And yeah it will be just a road car. A 4age would be heaps of power wouldn't it? Why do you say the v6 is not an option also?
-
Thanks heaps guys. I'm locating. South east suburbs of Melbourne. Plans are for the car as it has rust at the back structural beam. To fix all rust. It's also hail damaged with broken windscreen. So the body up completely. And paint it black. Then fix up the interior. Racing seats. I want to keep it pretty original. The top dash is cracker though:( Then finally replace the engine. 4age. Sr20. V6. Whatevers easiest really. Anyways the plans.
