  1. Hey Fellers Just wondering what needs to be altered to fit a 5 speed in a ke10 with a 5k? will it bolt straight up? does the tail shaft need to be shortened? Will the speedo cable still work accurately and will it fit? and will i need a diffrent clutch cable etc? cheers
  2. Hey dude i put the same seats in my Ke10 they went in with out to much trouble :)
  3. oh and no i havent had it on a dyno yet, car is still being restored only just got some push rods for it today :D
  4. hey :) Umm worked meaning balanced, raised comp, cam of unknown specs, raised comp, harnened valve springs, hardened push rods and fairly extensive head work, So sounds like ill be needing a new a carb, were would be the best place to get a decent carb set up in melbourne? Id rather not use ebay if I can, thanks guys
  5. Hey fellers I keep hearing mixed emotions whethr or not a bigger carb or twin carbs is actually a good upgrade? Or just an excuse for ya motor to suck more fuel? Ive got a pretty worked 5k but the bloke I bought it off has left the standard carb on, He made mention of it having bigger jets, but will it be sufficient for the motor and its performance orientation? cheers guys
  6. Just wondering if i was to change to a solid lifter set up off a 4k will it affect my cam?
  7. thanks guys :D I pulled all the valves out and apart and cleaned em got them working properly they still like new :D Where do i locate the lugs on the head to no my piston type? If It is the push rods were will i be able to buy some from? cheers
  8. Hey guys I think I hae just about exhausted all my resources! I have pretty warm 5k in my Ke10, the motor is brand new hasnt been run but has sat around for 5 years not doing anything, all this time it has sat with no push rods in it, the bloke i bought the car off is an engine builder/reconditioner he gave me rods with the car and this is were it gets tricky, there apparently 5k rods (hydrolic lifters) but wehen there installed we have no compression because the either the rods or the lifters are to, when the rocker assembly is is bolted down with a 3mm gap on the posts we can get compression and get the motor running! the rods i have are 155 mm from longest point to longest point of the ball tips, and the lifters are exactly 51mm in total size. from what ive read the lifters are correct, does this sound right to anyone? I'm thinking my other option could be to convert to a solid lifter and adjustable rockers out of an early k motor? sorrry for the essay guys hope it makes sense cheers :D
  9. cheers for the reply dude :) pictures would be handy thanks :) is there many aftermarket slotted rotors etc. for the setup? Ive been told that i should upgrade the brakes before i get her on the road cus if the inspectors see ive got a pretty heavily worked 5k in it its a prety large increase over standard cheers
