    Noobs

That's pretty much what I'm wanting to do...
  3. Not sure about steering rack but, whole crossmember brakes struts lca's will bolt up. I have heard that s13 suspension will screw up your suspension geometry, but I'm still trying it on my ke30 lol...

    Noobs

Yea I agree, but for some noobs we at least just want an improvement. Engine swaps and forced induction are not an option for most noobs as a lot are p platers, unless it's say a 3k to 5k in which case who will notice lol? Also alot of noobs don't have the skills/knowledge to do a conversion even a relatively "simple" one like a 4age. Correct me if I am wrong....
  5. I am a newbie with a ke30 four and have done a lot of looking around etc at what best to do with the engine for some more up and go as a daily. I have dreamt of 13b turbo and 20v turbo etc etc etc the list can go on all day. As I have found it is better to start small and work my way up. I've seen there are also quite a lot of other newbies in similar situations, so I was thinking what if some of the more experienced guys can do up a thread with pointers on what is realistic for a newbie to do to get more power that way we don't have a million threads about me dreaming of a 13b in my rolla. Ie is it worth doing my stock 3k up or go straight to a 4k or 5k, what sort of mods does it require, approx cost doing most of the work yourself and what sort of power increase you can expect etc? I was thinking keep it carbie as this is easier for a newbie as no wiring etc?
  6. Gunmetal grey, matte black or camouflage.
  7. I got 7" semi sealed off ebay then bought some h4 globes in bright white, doesn't sound like what you're after but maybe try to find a different coloured h4?
  8. If you're doing anything other than a 3/4/5k there will be a fair bit if modifying involved. You said you don't want to do mods/fabrication any swap other than 3/4/5k will require mods/fabrication. SR/RB/2J are all huge conversions and will require a lot of fab work to properly as you will need a good gearbox to hold on to the power minimum what the motor came with, and also a shortened hilux diff. As for RB and 2J if your learning to slide these wouldn't suit in my opinion as it will throw out the balance of the car. Spend some dollars on suspension/handling mods. If u do a swap don't forget to budget for brakes
  9. So I take by everyone's comments its a pretty pointless swap into a ke rolla? Just thought there may be a little bit of potential and at least it is period correct.
  10. Cool, I have had a look around, thanks for the help
  11. Lol very funny @7shades, just wanted to look into it. I like that its a bit more period correct. Thanks for your help irokin.
  12. As the title states I am wondering if there is a Toyota equivalent to the Nissan l series 6 cylinder engines? In particular the L28.
  13. Round headlights ke30 1976 model, I wanted to know the front swaybar, sorry for not specifying. So the front is 19mm?
  14. 1. What is the standard sway bar size on a ke30? 2. Where can I get a strut brace?
  15. Call Vic roads and explain the situation, I know in nsw you would be fine.
  16. Thanks for the help I've read through that link, but I'm stubborn so I'm still going ahead with it lol. Any other feedback, tips, advice etc is great :D
  17. Anyone??????
  18. Hi I am putting in s13 coilovers brakes knuckles lca's etc into my ke30, was wondering if anyone on here has actually done it and can give me some advice/tips etc?
  19. I'd really like a hap style sticker in white or black in future if possible.
  20. Look forward to it....
  21. I'm keen for a coast drive once I get my car going.
  22. I'm in the same position, live in Canberra with a ke30 and am looking to do a swap, just thought I'd share lol what a coincidence.
  23. Hey all I have just moved to the ACT, Gordon to be precise. I have a ke30 that I am slowly fixing up. Atm I am fixing a few things after I ran out of petrol and it sucked crap up from the tank... I work as a public servant and am fairly new to ACT and ke corollary modifying.
  24. I have no idea when it comes any of that, i mean I'm sure i can remove the tank and the fuel filter but the carbie i have no idea about. The other annoying thing is that it is stuck on the side of the road. How much would i be up for in parts? And also i have heard that if i upgrade these then there is a good chance it can start a domino effect and everything else to do with the engine could start screwing up too. As u can see I'm pretty lost, any help would be great
  25. Hi, i completely ran out of petrol in my ke30. It is now parked on the side of the road i have got it to start but it runs really rough and if i take my foot off the accelerator it stalls/turns off. I called lube mobile they came out and didnt even look at it, they just said the carbie is gone and will need to be replaced or refurbished and could be a $300-$600 they said and also may need to clean out replace the fuel tank as well. Can anyone help with some advice/options?
