Hi all few questions as I bought a ke70 with standard 4k it's now time for a service I wanna know what oil u would recommend (ie 5w-30 etc), what plugs (normal or platinum) and what brand/type of brake shoes for the rear drums. I know it seams kinda small but I do wanna look after it. Any pointers and/or past experiences whether positive or negative is great.
+1 for flared guards. If u don't like bolt on ones I think I've seen people roll, lip flare stock guards etc and even weld on another front guard to help cover the top of the wheel for street legality, however for a track car it doesn't matter do cheapest way is to cut off ur original guards and buy some bolt on flares, unless u can roll lip flare stock guard urself (if that will give u enough clearance). Btw what master cylinder u running with ur SR brakes?
+1 someone stupid ruins it for everyone, also the quality of the road is a big influence in causing accidents, which is hardly ever bought up, at least in the pot hole capital they call Sydney...
A cruise would be good, should organise something?
Geez your right just had a flick on carsales one in average condition w/out rego $800 then everything else over $2k but really I guess that is equal price wise older rollas, but they seem rarer only 6 in total on carsales
Yea Mitsubishi is cheaper than rollas are they ie sigma?
My mum and were telling me that back the day they used to buy datsuns for like $500 with rego then if something went wrong just buy another one, they were that cheap lol.
I've been looking into vsb14 a fair bit ( its effing long!) as it seems ACT have already started adopting it. There's a lot of negativity toward it on here. I think it's great that all states will have the same rules/guidelines as its a joke we don't already however having to test a cars brakes at 160km/h is ridiculous I don't even know if my ke70 will go that fast lol and what's the point when our highest speed limit is 110 excluding the nullaboor or whatever which is 130 I think, what's the point in testing a cars stopping ability at 50km/hr faster than the speed limit? I agree on all states having same rules but the testing needs to be more realistic or it could kill off a lot of the aftermarket car sector which will cost jobs or have a sh!tload more illegally modified cars as its already too expensive too engineer a car without making it more expensive!
Agreed rotary has helped the mazdas and easy sr20 conversions have helped datsuns(although is the conversion any more difficult into a ke?) and also as mentioned the rarer sportier rollas our overseas friends got are quite rare and expensive.
Thanks I have already read that and it is quite useful however everyone there talks about ra60 rack ends or aw11 etc no one has mentioned lengthening and/or rose joint the ke70 tie rods etc. my question is can that be done? Will it work? If it can be done and will work then why haven't people done it? Is it too expensive or too much of a hassle? Sorry if this is stupid but thanks for the help :)
Before you all kill me, I only want to know about the tie rod/rack ends when doing an s13 hub conversion to a ke70, is the only problem with stock ones that they are too short ie could the problem be solved by lengthening them and or rose joint? Or us better just to use aw11 rack ends and s13 tie rods?
Thanks for the help, have already replaced plugs and points. I guess what I was really asking was how to adjust the mixture screw and throttle stop screw probably a stupid question but have never really worked cars before
Hi I have big stock 3kc and I've been told that the Carbie needs a "tune" which is why it is idling a bit rough and some times stalls when idling or taking off when cold. How do I tune the Carbie? Could this really be the reason?
I'm up for most things, in the process of getting me ke70 registered at the moment hoping it will be within next few weeks, so once its registered I'm in.
