Sounds like the problem is your GF. :P

Hey mate what was the paint you used for the block and gear box?
-
Mate I'd love it back but just don't have the cash ATM lol, unless you'll take $500 lol (I doubt it hahaha)

Wow looking great!!! So much attention to detail! and you made it all look so easy! Questions: Did you use a KE cross member or S2K or Neither? lol and second part is with the caltrack bars do are they just stablisier type bars? whats the benefit? Do they mount to an existing part of the car or did you fab something up?

Hey mate, this is actually my old car! Sold it to a guy in riverstone who had plans for an SR20DET. I bought it bog stock off an old guy who used it as a daily for 30yrs. I put in the black carpet, head deck in glove box and amp and 6x9s on the parcel tray then retrimmed the parcel tray in black materiel, added the rolla club sticker on the radiator support and TEQ stickers on the windows, Me and my brother-in-law made custom rails so the seats would sit and fit nice and low, then I got the alarm/immobiliser and central locking done by a shop in blacktown. Glad to see its much loved and lokked after! I was sad to see it go and wish I hadnt sold it. I had plans for a rotary (hence the seats). Does it still hate to rev until warm? It used to idle fine when cold but then if you accelerated to hard/fast it would stall lol until it was warm then it was fine lol, little quirks. I also put in a momo stearing wheel which didnt really suit it but feels great. The pics arent showing on my computer for some reason will have to try on another computer later.

1Uzfe Auto + 1984 Ke70 (86,oook's 2Nd Owner) Conversion...

I can definitely understand waiting on the manual conversion. Is your plan top try and get it engineered and legal in the long run? If so I would recommend speaking to an engineer first as you're going to have close to zero chance of getting it engineered. If the plan is just to track the car once defected or if you can get someone who is "lenient" (read dodgey) to do inspections to clear defects then sweet as. Maybe speak to your suspension specialist first. Why do you want/need adjustability? (I'm not critisising, I have adjustable arms in my skyline). 5 stud wheels are cheaper and more common in larger sizes not the sizes your looking for on your rolla, you'll find plenty of cheap 4x114.3 wheels in good sizes and offsets to suit a KE70, also new wheels like rota's have great styles, good prices, good offsets for your application and come in 4x114.3. If you're looking to run 15 or 16 inch rims which suit KE70's perfect IMHO then you'll be hard pressed finding them in 5 stud other than stockers off other cars. Also bigger wheels means more expensive tyres too. Your call on the 5 stud and wheels thing but my advice stick to 4 stud and get some nice wheels (rota grid v IMHO). Just a bit of food for thought though -

Should be ok for drag though, got the adjustability and big brakes that he requires. Not sure what it would be like on a track, pretty harsh on the street I imagine -

Whats the plan for the car? Weekend duties with drag or curcuit? I thinks its going to be quite difficult setting the car up for drag AND curcuit/drift as they are completely different. The auto box will be great for drag not so for the other two options (I think, correct me if I am wrong), considered going the tried and tested supra W box? You would already realise this but quite risky etc driving it on the road and I dare say nearly no chance of getting it engineered. On the brighter side it sounds like quite an interesting build and one thats been done but not too common, so you'll have some support wont be seeing a thousand others the same. With the sspension why skyline and 5 stud? Just stick to S13 and 4 stud, brakes and suspension are already overkill coming from a silvia. R31 diff shouldnt be too much of a hassle as its been done a number of times. Good luck, I'll be keeping an eye on this one :) -
Pretty sure theres a white 2 door KE70 in sweden or something running a trubo 5 cyl (presumably volvo or the like). Sweet bit of gear, fully stripped, caged, exhaust travels through cockpit and exits in rear quarter where the rear door would have been on a 4 door keto.

Lol I'm not much for em but they are way better than stockies

Wasnt sure where to put this. Just wanna see what dender mirrors people have put on their xE7x's as I'm looking for some and wanna see what looks good. If people could post up pics of their xE7x's with fender mirrors that would be cool, I'm open to suggestions

Fumeck, you'll only need a light guard roll for them :P Seriously alot of camber and some bolt on flares and you'd still be struggling i reckon. What offset are they? About 0 I'm guessing

Awesome, thanks for the detailed reply.

Hi, my ke70 currently has no thermostat so it runs cold. I'm looking to put one in but I'm pretty lost is this a top thermostat: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE70-1-3L-8v-CARB-1981-1985-Stant-Superstat-Thermostat-/280833544296?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4162fbd068#ht_4326wt_914 Also does it just go in the top radiator hose near outlet from the head somewhere?

Thanks Dave I did find a tech thing on here which explains what wires do that's fine. You have answered my question well, cheers

Hi I'm putting s tacho into my ke70 and I'm just wondering if any tacho will work? I'm looking at an auto meter sport comp but it has a whole bunch of wires but I thought only like 3 or 4 wires were needed? Earth, accessories and the "signal" that actually tells the tacho the revs (don't know if it's actually called the signal but yea). If I'm correct all of those wires are already at the back of the dash ie. I don't need to run new wires do I?
-
Why the different booster and master? Btw coming along quite nicely I'm considering buying a lip off you for my ke70, did u just screw it to the chin thing that's already there?
-
A few people have done 4ag Carbie conversion, the generally run 4 Yamaha r1 motorbike carbies or twin carbies ie SU or the like. Something I've been thinking about, not too seriously though. On the plus I believe not much upgrade in terms of fuel is needed and wiring is easier as u don't run the ecu.

Looking good, can't wait to see the flares bolted on, I'm planning on getting then for my Ke70 too. Are u going to cut the metal guards off or just bolt on them over the top? Did u get the flares from topstage?
