  1. It has an aftermarket fuel pump on it which is better suited for a weber.
  2. Aggh still havn't got the sucker out yet. And still looking for a carbie. Would it make any difference to anything if i put that heat sheild wrap stuff around the exhaust manifold to keep the inlet a bit cooler?
  3. How big was the hill to get a KE30 to go that fast?
  4. I agree with irokin. Sounds like you got off easy so just do what you need to do to stay out of trouble with them. If you're nice to cops they will usually be nice back.
  5. I bought my car with a 2 1/2 inch cannon on a stock exhaust system. Its shit and makes lots and lots of noise for nothing, although its carbon fibre wrapped so it looks cool. Ive been looking for a silencer for a while and can't seem to find one so where the best place to look. An exhaust shop or autobarn or somewhere like that.
  6. A mate of mine just payed $2000 for a respray and he stripped and prepped the car himself. Buy a can of matt black paint and go crazy, haha. www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=10258
  7. Gavclassic. . . What other mods have you made to your 4K is it just the webers. I'm in the process of putting a worked 5K in my KE70. So far cost me $300 and all i need is a carby for it and its good to go. Not expecting as much as 75bhp but still believe K motors belong in KE70s, save the 4age for sprinters.
  8. Easiest conversion would be a K series motor. (Lots of info in the FAQ) I'm currently in the process of putting a 5K into my KE70. They can be decent motors if you do the right mods to them. There is a worked 4K for sale at the moment, may be worth having a look at. The manual gearbox you want for a K series motor is a K50. Its a 5 speed and there are plenty around so start looking. Theres a thread i started called 5K in KE70, have a look in that there is lots of info. For $1700 you should be able to build a decent K motor as long as you are prepared to get in there and do some work yourelf. But you could probably get close to dropping a 4age in for around $2000, so it just depends on what you want the car to do. Goodluck.
  9. My 83 KE70 has the 84 front. I reckon it looks heaps better.
  10. Pics of car will be up as soon as i find my camera. 4K is just sitting on the engine mounts now everything is disconnected from it. Just gotta get a day when my brothers and Dad are home to lift it out.
  11. Started on the conversion today. Got all the fluids drained out of the 4K and took the cooling system out so i don't damage the radiator. Hoping to get the 4K out tomorrow. I took the car out for one last spin today and timed it down a stretch of road so i can see if theres any difference between motors, Haha. It would have been funny to me with L plates on and my dad sitting next to me with a stop watch.
  12. No no not while filling the car. It splaashes out while its being driven.
  13. Hey. Is there anyway you can stop petrol splashing out of the feul tank. The KE70s don't have a valve to prevent splashback around the feul tank thing. I just did a bit of work removing the rust and getting it looking nice and was wondering if there was a way to stop it from happening again. Eg installing the valve. Thanks.
  14. Haha i think ive got evrything pretty mych sorted now all i gotta do is figure which carby i wonna go with.
  15. Haha hopefully wont be to much frustration. Good luck mate.
  16. What works better on a 5K, 28/36 DCD or 32/36 weber.
  17. Ok what bout this carby, WEBER 32 DFM, or should i get the 32/36.
  18. Thanks for that. I thought all of it could go on all the K engines but just wanted to double check.
  19. I mean will my 4K manifolds fit on my 5K?
  20. Are 4K and 5K inlet manifolds and exhaust manifolds the same?
  21. 5K is at my house  all i need is a weber and its going in!!!
  22. Yeh the "worked" one. Sounds like it should go alrite with the rite carbie. Probly wont be installing it till early october but i will keep u posted on my progress turbo rolla.
  23. Thats a crazy amount of rust. Should ring up a tafe that teaches panel beating and say you have a car they can practise on.
  24. Just bought myself a 5K with a bit of work done to it. Picking up on the wkend.
  25. How'd the weber go on the 4K turbo rolla?
