All that truck needs is a nice set of 20"s. It looks funny with those tiny little 15s.

Have a look around all the edges and check for structural rust. I don't think an old couple will be out there with body filler so hopefully any rust will be easily spotted

"finished" since when is a corolla ever finished. Cute little cars though, excellent work you have good taste :y:

If you do ever get this idea off the ground I'm keen. Good luck with it all! -
What If We Could Race Our 4age Xe7x

You would have people cheating for sure by working their internals. Dyno runs before races to keep an eye on power would fair things up a bit. We all know there is a number of things you can do to a 4age to gain power and still be N/A so you set a limit say 100rwkw and that would keep the costs down and make it a fairer race. If you wanted to broaden the field you could have 4age Corollas of anymake but just have power to weight ratio limits. I'm all for the *E7* 4age class but I don't think you would have enough owners with the money to compete. Mitch. -
Cheap as chups ay cuzzy bro

Yeh mate, cheers! I just have to do something with the front and it should be sweet. Its sitting at the perfect height at the back though.

My oldies got the voucher through Redballoon. Thanks for the birthday wishes!
-
Thanks Phil! Thanks for the help fellas I think I'm going the V8s
-
Yeh I was leaning towards the formula fords but thought it might be just like driving a go kart where as the V8s would be closer to a real racing experience. The V8 dirt buggies look pretty fun to just by the opening two words, drift and air haha. I think you would be more free to thrash the buggies aswell. Thanks for the input so far!

Hey all, Its my birthday today and I got a voucher from red balloon for a driving day of my choice. There is a lot to choose from but I have narrowed it down to Formula Fords and V8 race prepared cars. They are basically the same day in different cars and I'm not sure which out of these to pick. Or another one I just looked at is V8 dirt buggies. Anybody who has done these driving days or driven these cars please help me to decide. Thanks, Mitch.

Have a read around the forum there is plenty of info on how to get more power from a K series engine. What suspension is in the KE70? Just stock?
-
33000. Ohhh right
-
How much did you get the block for??????
-
AE86 front struts are different but interchangable as said above. Rear is the same.
-
The box wouldnt be that much of an issue if you were sensible with it. I drove my 5K around for months with a K50 box and never had any hassles and I did give it a hard time. But you can get adapter bell housing for T50 boxes and I think W5* series aswell. Goodluck with your project mate!

I was in the same boat as you a few months ago and went 5K however I now run a 4age and love it! The 5K I had was bored 30 thou had a stage 2 cam and a webber and it went fairly well. If your going to by a K motor buy one thats already been worked, its a lot cheaper that way. I found parts fairly easy to get for the 5K but just have a look whats around. 7Ks are hard to come across and a fairly pricey considering what they are so just have a look but both engines are capable of making OK power. Or just put up with the 3K for a while, save some money and go 4a.

It could have been caused by a number of things but most likely just age got to it. Have a look at the gasket when you pull the head off and see if there are any sign of detonation just to be safe. But i'd say it will be fine with a fresh gasket and head skim.

That must be a comfy drive

I think i have seen the ke25 before. Its one of the coolest cars i have ever seen, why are you trying to sell it? Put a few pics of it up here!!
-
Theres an adapter that you can buy that you put over the plugs and it supposed to stop this sort of thing. Run it till it starts to miss then pull the plugs out and see if they are wet or sooted up, if they are then the adapter should work, sorry I can't think of its name. Or maybe just check the mixtures or do a compression test. Does it only happen when the car is hot?
-
Sounds like it could be running to lean or to rich. Screw the mixtures screw all the way in then screw it out until it revs the highest. You may have to keep the revs up a bit at the start so it doesnt stall. After you have done this adjust the idle and you will be sweet. Make sure you warm it up first though.

Yeh i thought about it but with all the new laws with P platers i thought the less conspicuous the mods the better. I did have a quick search but i will have another look. Thanks mate.

I have a modified 5K in my KE70 but i want MORE POWER, as does everybody. I want to know what the internal differences are btween the 5 and 7K motor because i plan to stroke out the 5K to up the displacement. 1. Are the crankshafts the same? 2. What is the difference in the length of the rods? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mitch.

If the booster was the problem then the pedal would be harder. As you probably already know the booster just amplifies the force you apply to the pedal. It sounds like an airlock or maybe your master cylinder.
