  1. I've just been working on my setup this morning. Have had a little bit of a redesign from what I originally intended. I'll go into a bit more detail in my projects thread. This is where I've got up to. Obviously mdf will get swapped out for alloy sheet, i'm just using it as a template at the moment....
  2. I did look into it briefly, but the problem was the top of the spark plug is flush with the head where pretty much all cops have some sort of stem to come in between the dohc's. Between that mounting issue, price and the fact that ls1 coils have built in ignitors that's the way I went. I finally started some work on making mounting brackets for them last night after having them for years. Will hopefully have something knocked up in the next couple of weeks. What are you planning on doing about a trigger? Obviously needs to be dual pulse if you want to do sequential.

  4. Shocksworks are the shit! Have you sorted top hats/camber plates? I had to dick around a bit to get the t3 ones on mine.
  5. I was more do getting at that it's a 55 not 30 going by the bumper. Yours has obviously been swapped out for the better looking full chrome but original had the wrap arounds.

  9. Be better of trying to mount the charger on the other side where the air conditioning pump would live.... some people have also used the a/c mounting bracket to mount the charger. I don't think you would have enough room where the alternator is.... and then you need to relocate that anyway!
  10. Totally agree. I've got stock cast pistons and rods. Again genuine hg but also arp's. Between current engine and old stock 4k I never manager to break anything even with over 20psi. Blow through would be easier as it makes the fuel system much simpler. Supercharged I would vote for a stock cam too!

  13. It means you have a 4ku not a 4kc (assuming it's not actually a 5k) which is supposedly more powerful and quite rare in Aus. Converting it to kc pistons and head would be a backwards step. Why did you want to do it anyway?
  14. 4age's are not the be all and end all. There are plenty of k series out and about that can flog a 4age mine included. And it doesn't cost huge money, be it na or turbo. You're completely entitled to your own opinion, just don't make it sound like gospel.

  16. If you think that is what is causing the idle hunt then see if you can unplug the o2 sensor and take it for a drive.
  17. The R in GT40R means you need to use a ballast resistor
  18. Did you comp test it properly, ie all plugs out and wide open throttle?
  19. Is this not the same guy with a 3t in his ksev?.... with the Smokey catch can? And fyi ta22 t50's have the same output shaft size as a k40/50.

  22. Genuine head gaskets are definitely the way to. I always use them, and along with a set of arp's never had any issue holding in over 20 psi. Crow do k series double valve springs.... and by using the search function you could probably even find a part number!
  23. Backfiring through the carby sounds like a timing issue. If you took the leads off the dizzy cap you sure you haven't mixed up the firing order?
  24. Is that the payment sitting on the bonnet? Lol
  25. Just polish the rocker cover. They're pretty easy to do as they're pretty smooth to start with. It doesn't need any type of ceramic heat coating.
