  1. yep, basically just a matter of blocking up all the vacuum lines and making sure the gaskets aren't gunna leak!
  2. thats what my mum said I should do!!! :) :)
  3. Would be much the same as doing a 4k, if not easier for the fact that they are cross flow!! I know fug all about t-series engines, but would you be able to use say a 3tgte exhaust manifold? if so that would make it real easy!! then just a matter of doing the usual shite like doing oil/water lines etc. what sort of carby do you currently have on it?? a weber??
  4. who knows...... ones thing for certain though, he might wanna keep his helmet on ALL weekend though, otherwise he might have a dent in his head!! :y:
  5. fuggen good question!! last I knew he was one of my mates,........ohwell, hes lost a few since!!
  6. yeah but maybe not 15, more like 12 on standard internals I reckon. remember I do have another car of my own and a work van that I drive most of the time!! :y: you've got 1 car!!
  7. he's a cockhead because he PISSED IN MY PETROL TANK!!!! :D is that a good enough reason for you!!! :y:
  8. 10psi should be fine for normal use with the de-comped setup. would be better off running a 2 stage though so when just putting around you're on minimal boost and then have some decent power at the flick of a switch. dunno what the carby would handle, probably hold 15psi alright i reckon, my weber has a brass float, so i reckon it'd hold up alright.
  9. $80!!!!! I went to a "test and tune" on the weekend, runs from 12:00 til 4:30 with about 30 cars. could have done about 10 passes if I wanted!!! cost - $35 driver entry for public liability insurance etc, and $10 for a ANDRA (Aus National Drag Racing Assoc.) day licence!! I was crossing the line at 130kmh, that was gunna cost me more than $45 to do on the open road!! :y:
  10. or use a flat head screwdriver, push it into the shaft and turn the handle. :y:
  11. I think the compulsory hours is a really good idea, back when I did my licence, if you could "drive"* you could still pass your p's test, but that doesn't mean you have enough experience to be on a public road by yourself!! *I learnt to drive on farms from about age 8, so when I got my l's I was somewhat competent behind the wheel, but I still remember being actually quite scared the first time I pulled ouit onto a public street!!
  12. my grandmother could drift better than that cockhead!!
  13. yeah for a $1000 it 'should' have whats called a battery back-up siren. theres a battery inside the siren box that will keep going even if the battery is disconnected. easy way to see - does your siren box have a key in it?? if so the key is to turn the back-up siren off. :D take him for a drive.............with a couple of metres of chain attached to the back of your car!!! :y:
  14. no body else got some times!!??
  15. its there more as a power distro point rather than for its fuse capabilities, it was just an easy way to connect the incoming power to the 3-4 wires that are normally connected to the battery termainal. the starter motor still gets "max power", as I only have a 260cca battery at the moment and have a 300amp fuse.
  16. haha, shit ponds!! :laff: are my old marks still out there?? they're the only marks out there that actually go around and around, all the others are just straight or fisheys. ah, gotta love a weldy! :laff:
  17. yeah I've done it, I now have turbo were my battery used to be. used 4 guage I think wire runs inside the car pretty under the carpet next to the door sill. at the engine bay end, everything that used to attache to the + terminal is now into a fuse block and just ran the wire from the battery to the other end of that. I also hid all of the wiring on that side of the engine bay through the guard as there is hot piping there now. you can see the fuse in this pic behind the washer bottle. btw you want at least 300amps if you use a fuse. also, if you want to buy one of those battery boxes, get it from a marine store NOT AUTOBARN etc, you will be shocked how much the price can vary for the same thing. autobarn - $25+ marine shop - $12!!!!
  18. :laff: no offence nick, but mine ran a 17.6 with the ONLY MOD being a the 32/32 weber!!!! not even a set of extractor, let alone a cam that big!!! was it wheel spinning much?? cause I've got a welding in mine and can launch it with absolutely no wheel spin!
  19. oh yeah spose that might be a good idea. for anybody who hasn't seen the pics etc yet my car: standard internals, valves etc. camtech 609 cam toyota ct12 turbo mx6 front mount vl pump and rising rate reg fiat 128 32/32 weber in sealed box 2 stage boost controller 2 1/4 inch "dump pipe" 2 inch exhaust with very quiet muffler. that about all thats worth a mention I think, pass was also done on 10-11psi
  20. hey guys, just though I'd ask the question - who's taken there 4K not 5k to the strip before and what have you run?? I did a 16.4 @ 130kmh on the weekend, was pretty happy with that, beat a VTiR integra, a VN commonwhore and flogged a ae92 with a 4a-fe. Then busted an axle on my last pass doing a skid. :laff: please try to refrane from saying "I haven't actually been down a drag strip, but I reckon it'll do low 14's" cause if you have never done a proper timed run on a strip you may be quite surprised just how slow you car is!!! :laff: so lets here some times??................ :laff:
  21. hey hey, flinders boy!!! I used to live over there about 15 odd years ago, loved the place. perfect place to hone your gravel corolla skills!! :) Old girl just did a 16.4 @ 130kmh today, was very proud of her taking out a VTiR integra and a VN commonwhore> that was the highlight of my day! :( also FLOGGED a mate of my brothers ae92 with 4afe!! :D then busted an axle on the last run.
  22. :) oh nasty!!! it would be fixable by getting it grinded back welded and planed........but you could probably get another head for less than whet that will probably cost you. might be a good time to look at finding a 3k head for it!!! that valve on the right doesn't seen to be seating too well either!!
  23. nice work dan.......now spend some blody money on the 7!!!! :) I'm like that but, keep spending small amounts on the rolla, when I should be spending larger amounts on the mazda. was the $70 for the whitewalls to have the white inserts put into tyres you already had?? :D
  24. whats obligatory about Rx-X mazdas!!!!!!!!!!! :) the reason I also have a rotary is to have something completely different!!! :D
  25. no, and mainly because they are a pushrod motor.
